I get your full of rage but can we all wait till the MVA arc is over instead of bashing it off one episode they rearranged the Arcs I can see them moving around parts in a arc we still might get those skipped chapters later on, once the arc is over and you still feel the same way and it’s truly terrible then rant but we gotta give them at least the time to finish the arc.
They cut Spinner's whole character arc, the CRC, and possibly the MLA introduction but we got half a episode of Endeavour sitting in a chair, yeah it's no wonder why people are pissed off
I knew it wasn't happening once I heard of the arc switch as the villain stuff seemed like *less* of a priority. See how the OP showed the 3 main boys the most and added class A even when they aren't really relevant here with that marketing. l mean I guess you could hope they would switch visuals, but since they put the villains also in the OP knew it wouldn't happen. lol
If this series didn't have Deku as MC, maybe i would've watch it. But i couldn't stand that beta male piece of shit, i can't imagine how the people watching the show can handle that.
It would be nice if they could prioritize as well as other anime studios seem to. MAPPA killed it with Jujutsu Kaisen, and Ufotable made their movie for Demon Slayer out of a canon arc, thus giving us core content with an AMAZING budget. Meanwhile, Bones cannibalizes its budget and work force for the anime by making non-canon movies that nobody really asked for.
At this point i think its better to wait for this season to get over and then binge the 2nd half of the season to see how the story played out, that will give us a clear idea on what they skipped and all.
As an Anime Only for MHA, even I could tell that some parts were missing something and felt out of place, I didn't know it was to THIS extent. Personally I still think it's an alright season, but its a pretty significant step down that even someone like me can recognize that its going off the rails.
May i add that they also cut the scene where redestro kills his assistant which honestly not only introduced us to him but showed us that his willing to remove even those close to him to achieve his dream
@@dredvax yes I was telling my friends about redestro and how awesome this arc was gonna be when it got nimated and then all this good and essential stuff is cut out. Smh
If I remember correctly when he did that the scene was exclusively on Re Destro. It’ll be next episode for sure. It wasn’t during the point Destro threatened the league and the anime has this thing where is cuts back at the beginning to events before what we saw last episode. So honestly it’s not getting removed.
Remember when random bits of the first Class A vs Class B fight were like super well-animated? Like Kaminari zapping Gevaudon and Gevaudon charging through the pipes to get to Shinso? I was like, damn they really put a lot into some random bits of animation this season, that's promising. And then Iida got the fucking WORKS in his fight against Mudman. And now we have this. Not sure why they seemed to put so much more love into one of the least popular arcs than literally one of the most anticipated. It's kind of baffling.
When I saw those scenes I was so excited for the main battle/conflict of this season, I'm anime oy and was expecting a major conflict like every other season. Then Endeavor stepped I and it started looking like a slide show presentation. Loved Bakugou's expressions but they had more detail than the rest of season five! Burnin's hair wasnt even animated 😭
From what i understand its actually the opposite in japan; for the manga people there loved the 1-A vs 1-B while the MVA wasnt a fan favorite. Which really sucks since its the opposite for pretty much everyone outside of japan
I am SOOO glad Bleach TYBW is taking its sweet time in production. We've seen what happened to RoR and now MVA. This is the darkest bleach has ever been and they'd better have a phenomenal season next year!
Alright, listen. Right now, the MVA arc just started and is so far pretty solid, so stop acting like they outright butchered it all ready. When Endeavor agency started, I was worried about MVA, but now watching it, seeing the preview, and rereading the manga, it turns out that it may end up pretty solid.
@@egeorgiades93 That is true though but I would gladly take a year of them preparing for it so it doesn't choke us to death if the series is rushing parts of the arc.
@@MyLittleGreenHairdedMermaid Lots of manga authors do what? For example Gege Akutami the Jujutsu kaisen author was working heavily with Mappa on the anime
Pretty much echoes my thoughts exactly. Not to mention Re Destro’s introduction in the manga is perfect and the not only fucked it up with the reorder but either cut it entirely or rearranged it again.
They ruined how calculating and brutal he can be, especially the way how he found, tortured and that Bribe with Giran(obviously failed) but it lead to him chopping off his fingers
in the manga they introduced us to Detnerat And when redestro destroyed that bear assistant of his with his stress quirk was sent chills down my spine. i was like "this guy was the shit" even though he didn't seem to be a villain to me at first glance . but in the anime i don't think they even mentioned detnerat once... this is going to be the shittiest adaptation from studio B concerning mha
I personally blame the production team and the director for mha season 5. There was absolutely no reason to rearrange the my villian academia arc, horikoshi had already done a masterful job of telling the story. The team had to verbatim copy the story and animate it, how they managed to screw that part is beyond me. MHA fans should straight up boycott the movie since it is now actually getting in the way of the series.
@@rickchakraborty2087 Not only that they took all the good animators and make them work on the movie which is the reason why MVA animation quality looks so shit
It's pretty sad that Spinner's development got cut. But it was a bit expected. I mean, the Villains are pretty much the shining part of this second half, but the OP clearly favors Class 1-A. And the ED's lyrics were made specifically to show Deku and Shigaraki's relationship. But instead it just focuses on Hawks, Class 1-A and the villains get a 5 second shot.
Yep you can see where more of the marketing is. lol Maybe to maintain more of the family friendly image established early on and not try to evolve? Idk. lol
They took nothing for granted lmao, they pushed back arcs for a movie, a filler for the movie, flashbacks for reminders for earlier seasons (Which I must say made me laugh) And due to that and the fact that mva is not very popular in sales so studio bones did not think the arc was very important.
@@blackhero6842 23 people disagree with you, make that 24 because I disagree with you too, humor is subjective, it doesn't have to appeal to you, cry about it
It's kinda ironic how stuff was skipped to give the heroes more screentime and promote a movie when the whole theme of MVA was the villains getting the spotlight and glowing up. I guess villains always lose in society
Yeah, and Horikoshi-sensei absolutely does not censor shit when it comes to this arc and onwards, so it just sucks the anime is watering everything down. I get that the anime has more kid viewers than the manga has kid readers, but damn. Stop fucking up what Horikoshi-sensei did, kids be damned.
You guys do realize that TV shows have censor laws right? Books do not, so Horikoshi has no limitations, but in order for shows to even be able to be aired, they have to be censored, and this arc has a crap ton of dark moments, so don’t be surprised when it is censored or watered down
@@Darkness-dv6sz "I'm sorry, I still cant understand. If I were in (that) position I would fight the law. I'd fight until I ended (that) stupid law." - Ichigo Kurosaki
I think that the problem that is not bad, but they did not put no passion, I was really expecting shigaraki dacaying the MHA logo, or maybe maybe a new intro, like jojo do, with Diavolo appearing out of nowhere, and the filler was a punch in the gut, they skiped all Spinners monologue.
Hardly any shows go hard as Jojo does with OPs, to be fair. But they could’ve definitely edited the OP. Like wow you changed the title card after a generic PowerPoint transition. And hard to feel this is MVA when the OP features… the heroes still 1st. Literally at the end, reverse the order, show the villains first or just cut the heroes out. Hard to think they did Mob Psycho so well.

@@wimpykid6171 I think you're a little confused on what Captian Kale's comment meant. Movies like the ones you named are just manga that was adapted into movies. They are literally the main plot. The reason why Mugen train was a good movie was because it was a crucial part of the demon slayer series, it's literally in the manga. They just chose to make it into a movie instead of a few episodes in a new season. The MHA movies, however, add basically nothing to the plot. It's just... irrelevant.
Ikr...I remember I went to the cinema all hyped to see the Nine movie (I don't even remember its name)...and I left feeling so dissapointed because it was empty. It didn't help the plotline of the series in any way, it was just a useless side story that looked good.
I was most excited for the MVA arc as an anime only because how much its been hyped up by Manga Readers, but now I'm thinking I should jump into the Manga. Edited: (Update) I caught up to the Manga. Man that war arc was Insane. Nice too see Bakugo's development. Ochako became best girl?! Deku became Batman for a few chapters which was Raw. AFO has Goat Villain potential. I really wished Studio Bones adapted MVA better cuz I wished I experienced it with the voice acting, music, animation etc first.
It stings a bit more when you remember that in 2019 Horikoshi said Heroes Rising was going to be the last movie. I know it's no use talking about hypotheticals but if we never had this upcoming movie it might've actually been a really solid season.
@Frieza1500 But why waste time on films no one wants instead of on perfecting a season that all the fans want to be as good as possible? It’s completely senseless and infuriating.

The movies all segway from great anime only episodes that I really appreciate because most animes just straight jump into spin off movies, Im loving season 5 so far like I read ahead manga to just when MVA starts but didnt wanna watch anymore because I was waiting for dub because the dub is how the characters should sound to me, the sub has the same issue DBZ sub has, heck MHA has characters that don't sound right or the age they are suppose to at all so its worse in most cases. Honestly Ive read to MLA war and left off, the manga MVA kinda short tbh to get to that next one so honestly I wouldn't be surprised if like so far stuff is just being rearranged not left out. They haven't skimped out on any other seasons at all tbh so I dont expect them to start now, Im be patient so. If we start season S6 without missing stuff, Ill eat my words sure.
Honestly, they should’ve just put the anime on hiatus after the Endeavor stuff. Then both the movie and the MVA Arc could have been equivalently brought to the amazing My Hero Academia standard. Heck, it could be what the manga readers in all of us wanted out of this whole misery of the corona era. But alas…
Even after a hiatus of 11 month they don't look good. Honestly at this point they should cancel the hole series and keep doing mob psycho or bingo stray dogs.
The amazing my hero academia standards???? LOL wtf i hope that's a joke. The series is mediocre at it's best moments and totally garbage at it worst moments.

Instead of the filler crap movie, should've just adapted MVA into a movie or saved MVA for season 6🤦♀️ Now it's a MVA interpretation just like with a majority of manga to anime adaptations i mean interpretations😖
Why? Did you not want to see (visually appealing sure) climaxes that feel like fan fiction and even have NO impact on the main story besides apparently stealing resources away from the real content? Can’t imagine why. Like seriously, there’s no point to those movies; do what Demon Slayer did smh.
@@stormrider1049 Well according to horikoshi the movies are actually canon which is why they are arranged the way that they are so that they don't mess up the timeline, given they haven't had an impact on the story just yet, not in a particularly large way except for one case I suppose. However, there was a part in the manga that made a small reference to Two Heroes, and the enhancement machine used to make Plus Ultra Shigaraki was introduced in Heroes Rising. That being said I'm not saying that they didn't drop the ball this season, but let us not start hating on the movies because they decided to cut corners on the anime this season because as I will remind you this series has two whole other movies that came out beautifully and didn't harm the production or quality of the anime in the slightest so we know that they are perfectly capable of making a movie and the anime at the same time. Why they chose not to do that this time? I honestly can't tell you.
@@aluralovell6829 huh. Then just sounds like a dumb, impatient decision. Out of nowhere? Never done again, except maybe in the future with how Deku is developing only recently? Yep, canon, whatever you say author…
@@stormrider1049 Well, I really wouldn't call it an afterthought excuse seeing as how he already established this before the new season came out and before there was even a trailer for the new movie. As I said before there have been no major things from the movies in the series save for the machine that makes Plus Ultra Shigaraki, but there was a chapter in the manga where they showed Mellissa Shield and her father I think it was a little before the overhaul arc also the American electricity hero from All Might's flashback in Two Heros was shown not too long ago in the manga when they talked about getting help from the other countries. That being said again I'm not disagreeing that it was a bad choice to go about making this season the way it was made, I just don't think the movie is the problem seeing as how this wasn't a problem when the first two movies were made, this just seems like a bad choice on their end. Personally, I felt like movies were kind of an excuse to show off characters that didn't last long in the manga like Crust or Majestic (Majestic is in the new movie) because honestly I didn't really feel all that bad that they died, I mean yeah it was kind of sad but I never saw that much of Crust and I think I saw Majestic of all of 3 or 4 pages?

I don’t think it’s fair to say your glad bones messed up.. some people still want a solid and good adaption because that’s the main way they consume it. Also considering animators and voice actors that work on it losing their job. I’m as disappointed in bones as you dude but that’s what hurts the most. I didn’t want them to fail like this
Nah. There's no good thing about it if the people doesn't like to read a manga, if they don't like what is happening on anime many moved on and go to other animes than read the manga. So it's really not necessary that the bones messed up.
@@roisin2004 the best thing we can do, is hope that they learn from this and I really hope they do!!! At this point the manga readers and anime only people r having a completely different experience despite watching the same content
When S5 cut out the scene with Shoto getting the freezeburn on his eye, I was sad. However it wasn't too important. When I saw the cuts from the MVA I was incredibly dissappointet. So much content, context, character development and story build up cut off. They already spoiled many Anime Watchers by simply rearanging the arc and spoiling the outcome. Now they just cut out the CRC scene (important to World building and Society's history), Spinners Monologue and deeper Character portrayal, the L.O.V dialogue and realization of being at a lowpoint and finally the introduction of Re-Destro and the MLA. Apparantly they gonna re-add a small bit in the next episode. Nevertheless, this is really displeasing.
I was getting weirded out when they had that beach filler episode and I'm just like "Didn't we just celebrate Christmas like two episodes ago? Why are we suddenly getting this?"
I can tell that Studio Bones is doing everything it can to make the MHA anime theme lighter and more viewer-friendly. Since the manga is getting darker and darker, they're afraid they will lose a lot of viewers especially the younger audience, and might get into some issues and controversies. Sadly we who had been big fans of the MHA series, gets nothing but disappointment from this season, and I'm expecting the upcoming seasons won't be looking good too.
They should aim for the later airing time, so that they can go all-out with the darker themes. According to the manga readers, the atmosphere has changed enough for it to feel less bright and cheery than what the marketing has been trying to portray it as.
@@Trocify225 yes it's gruesome but that's not the issue here. There have been a few heroes, and villians (and maybe civilians offscreen) that have been killed in the past seasons. People being used as nomus, and Eri being abused, it's all gruesome but still it was shown in the anime. What I meant by MHA getting darker is that they are now heavily exploring the darker theme of the series. Like they are showing backstories of the villians and understand why they have chosen to become a villian, and how rotten the society is. Honestly, for me it is pretty good story-writing and I love how the villians are not all evil, and heroes are not all good, but you can't just show that to kids. You can't have them sympathizing with villians, and starting to see the human society as bad and rotten. This might influence their naive little minds to turn to evil in their own ways. There's a reason why 'The Joker' is not suitable for children and it's not just because of some people getting shot and killed. I think that's the thing Studio Bones, who have made MHA to appeal to the young audience, is avoiding right now. Or at least that's what I'm getting at.
I kinda drop the anime, but not because of the bad seasons(I only seen the first two seasons), just because I got distracted and couldn’t catch up for when I was very into it. Kinda glad I did though, might check out the manga whenever I have time and can get into it.

For me it's like: "Oh yeah here's a few episodes of what the villains are doing lol." They are treating it like it won't be important for the future seasons😥
Am I the only notice how the assholes who defend BONESE just keep changing their arguments every week? ・They moved ahead the Chrismas episode “ Relax, it's just one episode, it's not like they're changing the entire arc.” ・They moved ahead the entire Endeavor Agency Arc “ Calm down, they'll definately change the scenes so MVA won't be spoiled.” ・They included the Skeptic and mansion scene “ Yeah, but it's not gonna ruin the entire arc.” ・They made an anime original episode and wasted another ep slot “ Stop overreacting, the remaining arc can be done in just 1 episode anyway.” ・It ends up being 2 episodes “Well, we still have 7 episodes left, if they went 3 chapters an episode, MVA can still works.” ・They included the Tartarus scene “ Did I said 3? No no, I meant if they went 4 chapters an episode, MVA can still works.” ・They cut out an entire chapter for this episode to fit “Right, but at least the fights starting next week can still be great.” That's literally 90% of the comments I got on Twitter over the last 2 months, and whenever I called them out or cornered them, they will just end the debate by throwing out “This arc was never that great and don't deserve all the hype anyway” or “ It's just a show, stop crying.” These people keep contradicting themselves and change their arguments all the time to suit their narrative, cause even they don't believe in anything they said, they only defend BONES for the sake of defending BONES so they can pat themselves on the back and think they're good boys Edit: SInce some people still don't understand storytelling isn't a puzzle you can just break and piece together however you want, let me explain the Importance of structure 101, take Alfred Hitchcock and his famous "Bomb Under The Desk" theory. If the audiences didn't know, then the story is meant to be "shocking", it forces audiences to ask questions when the bomb exploded, like what happened, who planted the bomb, and why would they do it. On the other hand if audiences knew the bomb was there then the story is meant to be "suspenseful", the downside is now the audience won't pay attention to what's happening in the present, such as what the characters are talking around the desk, since they're all anticipating the future. That's why no anime only actually enjoy S5E13, cause instead of "calm after the storm", it became "calm before the storm", thus the focus was put on the "storm" and nobody cares about the "filler" that's happening
So you see it too? What's bad is bad, and it's not like were complaining that they added clouds in the sky when there originally was any. We have few episodes for the MVA arc and they just say "tHaT ARc iS mOsTly aCtIoN aNyWaY, dOeSNt aLoT oF DiAloGuE".

I lost faith in the anime as soon as they announced the new season was going to change the order of the arcs. At that point it's clear the anime showrunners stopped following the manga and started to do whatever they wanted in the name of just getting it out to make as much a profit as possible before everyone stops caring and moces on to Jujutsu Kaisen or some shit. Ironically enough, that filler episode was probably the best of the season, for me at least. Maybe it's because I've read manga and other episodes didn't bring me anything new, but still. I feel like episodes like this - the day-to-day life of heroes - is something that is really missing in MHA manga. Like, we're following children learning to be heroes, but we actually know very little about what it really means - not in the ideological sense, but in practical. How heroes live, what exactly do they do on their jobs, how the whole system works, etc. We get some vague statements, some glimpses here and there, but there should be much more I think. Not that it justifies putting it *instead* of actual plot-relevant content, I agree here.

This entire issue would've been fixed if they just made the movies out of the main storyline like JJK Zero or Demon Slayer Mugen Train. Then at least your seeing the full original story instead of some BS story just for the movie that isn't even relevant to the main story.
Spinner served as the audience's surrogate in this arc and his scene serve as character development not only for him but for Shigaraki as well. We literally start in the same shoes he is. "Why should we follow Shigaraki or the League? All they've been doing since the Kamino incident is just cause petty crimes. Why should we care?" The scene with Shigaraki and the doctor was so goddamn empty because in the manga Spinner literally is there to listen. The doctor asks him the same question Spinner did. We see constant pannels of him sympathizing with Shiggy and seeing him in a new light just like the viewers once his backstory comes out. The anime failed by just having him stand there with a hand on his hip. Like, for real in the manga there's a panel where he looks sympathetic at Shiggy but the anime erased all the emotion and made him look mad and annoyed, wtf In the manga this whole thing comes full circle at the end where he chooses to stick with him to see "the crumbled horizon he envisions" and then literally says that the warped out horizon Shigaraki caused (Deika city destroyed) was "so beautiful"
Honestly thank you for pointing this out, I had the distinct feeling that I was missing something when it got to Toga and her new coat but couldn't quite place what was wrong...It's been a hot minute since I read this part of the manga, but I knew that there was more from Spinner and I knew that there was more buildup from "we need money" to Toga being able to get the coat. I'm watching with my husband rn, who is an Anime-only but I am trying not to have too much of a "they missed this/that" reactions live while watching with him cause I don't want to confuse him or whatever, but now, I'm really considering urging him to check the manga, at least for this arc because of this. They skipped over an entire chunk of the arc which honestly could have been done in an episode IF WE HADN'T GOTTEN THE FILLER. Really really poor choices. I usually like the filler in MHA and its kinda cool to get one that leads into the movies, but NOT when it's compromising the quality of the story proper and turning this great anime into a worsening adaptation. Ironically I used to like how MHA hada modest amount of filler compared to other Shonen but that seems to have blown up in my face now that it's hampering the [lotlines I want to see, and that my husband would be excited to see if they weren't already being censored to hell(horror buff, loves the blood and gore).
MVA is literally this series' "Impel Down" arc right before their big "Marineford". For them to drop the ball this badly on a moment this important for a movie is extremely dumb and short sided on the studio's part. I legit cant believe they thought this was a good idea.
Though that can be attributed to being so close to the manga. Meaning that if they catch up, they either do filler or stop making new episodes. MHA has no such excuse tho.

At this point ? You got some patience dude lol. Maybe they hired whoever did Promised Neverland S02? This literally needs some Zack Schneider protest energy. Wipe the whole season and start again. Pure trash!
If the anime series is gonna keep going forward and improve, the time slot has to be changed because it only gets darker from here on out. That and/or change the rating of the anime
@@philosopher9672 I mean. MHA already has an established target demographic of around 10-14 years old. Even if they were allowed more freedom in terms of censorship, they’re not going to change the entire demographic for a single film, because that risks alienating the established demographic. On top of that, making an entire film that doesn’t feature any of the main cast, and focuses on villains is risky. MHA isn’t JJK or Demon Slayer. Obviously the diehard manga readers will watch regardless, but MHA is a fairly more family friendly series, and likely wouldn’t fair well in the box office making a movie without that doesn’t have the central cast, focuses on villains, and has a higher age rating
@@sarahgiuliani8897 that’s unlikely. One Piece has had tons of censorship and cut content over the years, and continued to to have it children’s timeslot. It’s just something that comes with the lighter toned series like MHA and OP. MHA is consistently one of the most watched anime in Japan, and consistently places in the top 10 most view anime in Japanese Households(sometimes even top). Would be a HORRIBLE business move to change its time slot to a late night slot, where it’ll get significantly less viewship, and also alienate the fans who were watching the series during prime time
For how much they crammed into this episodes, I didn’t feel overwhelmed and the episode flowed smoothly. So I’m not that mad and think the rest of the arc will run smoothly from here on out. Anime onlys probably thought it wasn't that bad... But due to the cut content, the main impression of this episode was probably... "Oh wow, Shigaraki is gonna body everyone in Deika City" ( cuz we already saw the after math of that when the second half of the season started) Hype.. but we know he's gonna win. They pretty much already failed to tell the narrative of what "My Villain Academia" is about in the first episode of it's debut.
This season was bad and felt weird the recaps, the filler, the flashbacks, and the power up that Deku got out of nowhere. As a anime only it's been a poor experience.
I wont lie, Im still enjoying what they are giving us. I completely expected them to skip spinners dialogue bc that introduction was iffy to me and if I were them, wouldve seen it as a waste of time and thats farther in past which means they can just bring up again easily. I hate wveryones expectations of this season but with the movie they are trying to build a budget worthy for the next big arc. Their animation has improved. I still love what they have done with the series I cannot lie to you. I think everyone is just being a big whiny baby abt everything bc they changed things up a tad bit, meanwhile im here just enjoying what they are giving us for granted and grateful that we even get to see this all animated and I really look forward to next couple episodes bc they csn fit everything they needed into it. Everyone was bitching that mva will be rushed but it doesnt feel like they have, they simply skipped a super weird part imo like where tf did that cult even come from. Anyways to sum everything up, Studio Bones is doing what they are doing now so that they can make the best possible season 6 for us, i truly hope everyone knows that and if not you are incapable of thinking long term. Just enjoy the show for whst it is without comparing. Im actually enjoying quite a lot and not disappointed all that much, my only disapointment was the filler bc it was meh and for the movie but it was necessary bc now I wanna see the movie, it’s marketing. Anyhow people are dropping bc of this and I find it reallly stupid bc they are still giving us the meat of the story like they gave aizawas little arc which I did not expect this season which I adored, I hope Bones keeps surprising us im enjoying and zi hope you all can too.
Spinner's dialogue is important though??? It's not even about CRC scene, it's about the Hideout scene. His dialogue was to show that he was doubting his own place in the League and the direction they were moving in, and wasn't fully committed. His whole character arc in MVA is about finally seeing Shigaraki as a leader worth following and going from the Doubter to being the Most Devoted One, and to show why people choose to follow Shigaraki. This also affects the War arc, as Spinner has a quite important role there. All if this stems from that one dialogue in the Hideout scene, which was cut. P.S.: The importance of the CRC scene wasn't even in it being an introduction to MVA or in Spinner, but to show that such organisations do exist in the world of MHA, and they're the 'rot' Shigaraki talks about. That nobody does anything about them and that people with mutant quirks face discrimination, which ties to the incident with Giant Fox Lady who was almost killed when people assumed she was a villain because of her being a mutant, and to the rebel group Lady Nagant was ordered to kill ( and who all were mutants).
@@grinstrashcan they hint at his doubt with shiggy's ideals when talking to toga, and yes it is important but what's stopping them from putting it in a flashback. (Like for say if spinner says "remember this....")
@@Yosakusan they didn't spoil shit, all they did was show shiggy in a certain state. Do you know what change happened to him, his position in everything, how he changed, his past. We know none of that stuff. Just watch the show until its completely done being released then give an opinion on whether it actually spoiled anything.
Considerin content, writing quality and just overall enjoyment I'd rank the MHA seasons as follows: 1-Season 4 2-Season 3 3-Season 2 4-Season 1 5-Season 5 That mostly comes down to me LOVING USJ and the first episodes of MHA, and my deep appreciation for Overhaul arc, gentle criminal, pro hero and EVERYTHING in season 3 except the license exam. I do believe that when it's 25 episodes r out, season 5 will surpass season 1, but now let's look at how good of an adaptation each season is(not takin into account how good the actual original manga source content is) 1-Season 2(slightly better at enhancin the manga than season 1) 2-Season 1 3-Season 3(slightly worse than season 1 at enhancin source material) 4-Season 4(considerably worse than season 3 as an adaptation) 5-Season 5(makes season 4's adaptation look flawless. Season 3 is a Jujutsu Kaisen lvl adaptation when compared to season 5)
I can understand Chibi's disappointment and frustration since he already didn't like the season to begin with but Studio Bones have done a great job for so many years, I will give them the benefit of the doubt despite the fact that season 5 was mired with questionable decisions. One slip up doesn't automatically make the studio or the entire series trash. It's likely that they will adapt MVA fully, and give us the missing content in a more condensed manner. For me, this rearrangement was nowhere near as bad as what Magi went though. I HATED season 1 of Magi for how it was adapted by A1. As long as it doesn't cross that line, and I highly doubt it will, I am fine with the changes. At the very least, we will get some spectacular sakuga out of this and future seasons. I just hope they take more than a year gap for season 6 and don;t plan a movie with a new season.
I respect your standing on this but I heavily doubt Bones at this point for the rest of mva and for the war arc. I would love for toei to take over mha for the war but they're probably overworked with One Piece.
@@silverquis So, you want 4 mins of recap, them adapting 9 pages per episode, and people arguing over in canon filler scenes? MHA is not really conducive to a long running format and Toei pretty much only does long running series. Also, they are masters at optimizing their Sakuga moments. So, MHA would not be anywhere nearly as consistent as they are with a seasonal format. But hey, if you want a really faithful adaptation, Toei is really good at that.
@@goldmemberpb Wano arc is all I have to say. Toei animation blew out the manga 100 times over. Bones can never do that. Which is why Toei will be best to handle the war over Bones slow pacing flashbacks that we don't need.
I get the frustration with this season, but you should still hold out till its over for this specific criticism. The spinner stuff was already a flashback which means it can still be added in the next few episodes, maybe when spinner is fighting trumpet. It would have been better to have it earlier but so would having the original arc order.
We get you but some people rarely remember each minor detail in an epsiode and so to explain something before they have to show flashes how it is connected it is always a risk to do adapt something not in the order of the manga unless you know if it will flow well
thats fair, but if that shit is legit skiped spinner will become even less of a interesting character for anime only's. thats why i understand his frustration.
To get the *full MVA experience* read the manga starting at ch 218 (read ahead if you want, then see anime if want to keep watching or at least check it out after the anime, if you want to watch that first). Anime vs Manga difference for ep 1: ua-cam.com/video/uRhYps-ooX8/v-deo.html Anime has some cuts and likely will have some censorship. Plus the art is amazing in the manga.
Ty Chibi. You expressed what i was feeling that i couldn’t find the words to. This whole season has felt empty. It felt like nothing is hitting right. When ever i think back to the manga i remember how it hit me as i was reading the chapters weekly and patiently waiting to see what happened. But every time those moments were animated it felt empty and it didn’t have any impact on me. But as you pointed out it’s not hitting right because there has been a lot of stuff removed and taken out and just not how it was supposed to be. It is sad to say it but yes it is sad how its turning out. Moments like like rescuing eri were what anime was supposed to do for the manga adaptation. The whole axing of spinners dialogue did the mva a huge disservice. Like i even warn my friends who have kids about the tonal shift from overhaul and mva and war but its like the anime just not only toned back but completely removed the gravitas of it all. It just feels empty now which is saddening.
I just want to say that there's a pretty good chance the skipped scenes are gonna be showed through flashbacks, there's too much important stuff that got skipped (hope I'm right). Even if they do it, that was a terrible choice, the transition was weird without the context at the beggining
Who cares about flashbacks, people wanted an honest adaptation with that studio bones quality... The best arc had the most anticipation, and everyone who wastes their time on the anime have to hope its done in flash backs. It's too late now, even if the animation becomes the best of all season. The animation was meant to compliment the story and the build up to these events. This adaptation is worse than berserk 2016...
I really do think they should've stopped season 5 at episode 19 and dedicated all of season 6 to MVA. It would've allowed them to give it the love and care it deserves. I really hope they release an uncut and uncensored version soon where everything follows the manga and isn't cut out. That's the only way I can see them redeeming themselves.
Studio Bones DESTROYED MVA arc. It makes me sooooo MAD!!!! How is Studio Bones going to fix this with a flashback of some sort when Chapter 316 of MHA is animated? Manga spoilers for you anime-onlies reading this comment: The studio intentionally removed the Creature Rejection Hideout clan where the anti-mutant cult lives!! That scene with League of Villains is something I've been looking forward to see animated for a long time and Studio Bones sadly REJECTED it from us!!! Moreover, how are they gonna show All for One threatening Deku on the Cult's mansion? Eh?? Is the Studio gonna swapped out the mansion with a mere random house or building? For heaven's sake! They already did so much damage / rearrangement this Season 5 only to reject fans' expectations with a properly adapted MVA arc.
If only corporations understand that sticking to the full story is not just good for the long run but also the only way to make the series actually work and ultimately for them, bringing in more money. I guess some corporations just got stuck by the book. At this point, it's either them giving the director full support in fixing and keeping the quality like season 2 or even better, or we the fans can gather the funds for the director to go independent and make history with the anime. Other than that, no choice but to ditch the anime :/ and switch to the manga.
So once again the league of villains get pushed it aside. Pretty much was reminiscent of what's happening now. Kind of meta if you ask me. A pity really. The tone shift is what gives the show duality. But now everything seems to swing in the hero's favor.
this has been a trend in bnha since season 4 man smh, but at least in season 4 the issues were minor. but season 5 has really been so disapointing. I think bones thinks people will keep watching bnha despite quality just because "heroes"
Bones have taken things for granted, whatever they keep doing the kids in Japan will obviously keep watching without an issue, they just need to make sure they don't shift the tone too much and keep it as family friendly as possible. Oh, and obviously don't focus much on an arc that's not focused on heroes and is instead focused on villains, because "Heroes are good guys, Villains are bad guys" LMAO.
What upsets me even more is that they put a needlessly large amount of effort into the 1-A vs 1-B with animation and just all around budget and dragged it insanely long but when one of the most important arcs in the entire series finally comes they do a half assed job and it’s for 1 reason only. The main cast isn’t there. Bones have constantly shown they have a fixation on showing the entire class 1-A as a group even when they don’t fit the narrative of the story because they aged the series down with the anime and when the main cast isn’t on screen they just simply don’t care about what happens because they don’t see any reason to put effort. Bones needs to give up MHA they don’t deserve the series and imo hori should at this point pull the series from them by force because I can’t possibly imagine how it feels to see your work be vandalized to this degree
@Femi Oke you’re delusional bro, whatever studio falls into mha, the production committee (TOHO & shueisha) will still demand the anime studio to either re arrange arcs or put fillers and recaps. A studio switch won’t fix the problems the anime has.
Admittedly you’re camera at first glance reminded me of those close ups when villains go insane, but after that effect wore off it genuinely looks really good!
Not to mention them screwing up Redestros introduction. All these other anime’s out here following the manga and doing incredible work, while MHA one of the more popular anime out right now isn’t getting the same treatment 😢 it’s just sad
This season and the previous one is such a disappointment. I still remember when the Overhaul arc was the most awaiting arc 3-4 years ago, yet it didn't made me invested as much as everyone made me out back then. I don't understand why they decide to put much more effort on the 2 movies when they aren't even important to the series. This is the same studio that made Mob Psycho 100, FMAB, BSD etc that are known for the animation style and great adaptation
I understand your pain, Chibi. This Arc was supposed to be the Apotheosis of season 5, but instead we got a meager excuse of adaptation a la Yuki Tabata.
Literally why would the executives make these decisions, it's ridiculous. They don't know how to set the tone. The lighting is the same in every single video, make it more dramatic when it needs to be, set the tone.
Love the camera and new scenery btw ! It's because of the extended recap and movie-promoting filler that MVA is now relegated to 5 or 6 episodes, and corners being cut to cram the arc in the season. The animators and directors are doing a good job, but the executives making these decisions really do not vibe with the villains and it shows.
Even if they see it they won’t care, the movie makes money that’s all they care about, all the anime needs to be is average enough to act as an advert for the manga and future movies

Yes after a year plus of waiting this is what we've should have gotten
Hardly any shows go hard as Jojo does with OPs, to be fair. But they could’ve definitely edited the OP. Like wow you changed the title card after a generic PowerPoint transition.

Dude season 5 in daytime slot compare to rest of seasons
They should aim for the later airing time, so that they can go all-out with the darker themes. According to the manga readers, the atmosphere has changed enough for it to feel less bright and cheery than what the marketing has been trying to portray it as.
I mean they literally just showed toga dropping people to their deaths last episode which imo was more gruesome in the anime than manga

Edit: SInce some people still don't understand storytelling isn't a puzzle you can just break and piece together however you want, let me explain the Importance of structure 101, take Alfred Hitchcock and his famous "Bomb Under The Desk" theory. That's why no anime only actually enjoy S5E13, cause instead of "calm after the storm", it became "calm before the storm", thus the focus was put on the "storm" and nobody cares about the "filler" that's happening
god i thought i was the only one who was getting sick of the hard defenders

I legit cant believe they thought this was a good idea.
one piece’s pacing is wack but we get everything and more when it comes to the manga 👏🏼(except the cover pages) 🥲
Ikr. One piece anime is just really slow, but the Wano arc does not disappoint! All the manga content is there
Though that can be attributed to being so close to the manga. Meaning that if they catch up, they either do filler or stop making new episodes. MHA has no such excuse tho.
This is why I prefer manga nowadays, I mean I will always love anime and still watch it but manga has been much more interesting and very more informative.
yeah and the manga is usually the source material, so they can't fuck it up as an adaptation lol

Finally it’s my turn
“The manga was better”
MHA airs right before Detective Conan on whats considered a children’s block. So they probably do legitimately have to censor a lot of MVA
Yea it's not like they could've just made it a movie
If the anime series is gonna keep going forward and improve, the time slot has to be changed because it only gets darker from here on out. That and/or change the rating of the anime
@@philosopher9672 I mean. MHA already has an established target demographic of around 10-14 years old. Even if they were allowed more freedom in terms of censorship, they’re not going to change the entire demographic for a single film, because that risks alienating the established demographic.
On top of that, making an entire film that doesn’t feature any of the main cast, and focuses on villains is risky.
MHA isn’t JJK or Demon Slayer. Obviously the diehard manga readers will watch regardless, but MHA is a fairly more family friendly series, and likely wouldn’t fair well in the box office making a movie without that doesn’t have the central cast, focuses on villains, and has a higher age rating
honestly this makes me a little worried for season 6. the fights get pretty brutal, the best option is to move mha to a later time slot.
Overall, the road was bumpy and I’m mad about the parts that were cut, but I’m gonna sit back and enjoy the ride from here!

Season 4 suffered because time and staffing went to the 2nd movie and now season 5 is suffering because tone and arcs are being sacrificed to suit the 3rd movie. At this point the MHA anime only exist to promote the MHA movies.
god I can't stand this season, it's just so bad. I can't wait for the next movie that takes place during season 6 where they might just make a whole filler arc to fit the movie in an arc that takes place in one day, at this point anything is possible
The MHA anime peaked years ago, we're currently experiencing the sharp drop in quality and popularity. It hit the hype ceiling and could only go down from there. Manga's still good tho.

How do you explain them spoiling tge end of MVA? And cutting content is considered rushing, no matter how you look at it.

Considerin content, writing quality and just overall enjoyment I'd rank the MHA seasons as follows:
1-Season 4
2-Season 3
3-Season 2
4-Season 1
5-Season 5
That mostly comes down to me LOVING USJ and the first episodes of MHA, and my deep appreciation for Overhaul arc, gentle criminal, pro hero and EVERYTHING in season 3 except the license exam. I do believe that when it's 25 episodes r out, season 5 will surpass season 1, but now let's look at how good of an adaptation each season is(not takin into account how good the actual original manga source content is)
1-Season 2(slightly better at enhancin the manga than season 1)
2-Season 1
3-Season 3(slightly worse than season 1 at enhancin source material)
4-Season 4(considerably worse than season 3 as an adaptation)
5-Season 5(makes season 4's adaptation look flawless.
Stop stripping the situation of its context and say it how it is, you don't actually care about mha, you just want something to watch on Saturdays
@@philosopher9672 Sure I don't. You are ofcourse an omnipotent being and can sense my very thoughts.
That’s a good theory
We get you but some people rarely remember each minor detail in an epsiode and so to explain something before they have to show flashes how it is connected it is always a risk to do adapt something not in the order of the manga unless you know if it will flow well
thats fair, but if that shit is legit skiped spinner will become even less of a interesting character for anime only's. thats why i understand his frustration.
If they go back to things they skipped that will only worsen the pacing for later things and if they have it why not put it where it’s supposed to go?
I thought he didn't like flashbacks ,though?🤔
To get the *full MVA experience* read the manga starting at ch 218 (read ahead if you want, then see anime if want to keep watching or at least check it out after the anime, if you want to watch that first).
Anime vs Manga difference for ep 1: ua-cam.com/video/uRhYps-ooX8/v-deo.html
Anime has some cuts and likely will have some censorship.
Chibi speaking facts. That filler episode literally messed up the pacing bruh. This rant is justified 100 percent.
I just want to say that there's a pretty good chance the skipped scenes are gonna be showed through flashbacks, there's too much important stuff that got skipped (hope I'm right). Even if they do it, that was a terrible choice, the transition was weird without the context at the beggining
@Percules what other choice do they have?
@@rickchakraborty2087 From the preview, the go right into the fight. There’s not going to be time or place to flashback to a poor league
@@crazyassassinkill Nah, it's not that bad, Tokyo ghoul re, to me is the worst adaption ever.

Manga spoilers for you anime-onlies reading this comment:
The studio intentionally removed the Creature Rejection Hideout clan where the anti-mutant cult lives!!
I guess all Bones care about is marketing and fanservice tbh
@Femi Oke you’re delusional bro, whatever studio falls into mha, the production committee (TOHO & shueisha) will still demand the anime studio to either re arrange arcs or put fillers and recaps. A studio switch won’t fix the problems the anime has.
Admittedly you’re camera at first glance reminded me of those close ups when villains go insane, but after that effect wore off it genuinely looks really good!
Honestly all that needs to be said is: SWAPPING WHOLE ARCS AROUND IS COMPLETELY DUMB
Corporate greed.
the man got so made he returned back to his old format dam...
