For real, the banter is my favorite along with the derailments. 😊 This is how my brain works on the daily. Plus, it helps me when I'm feeling lonely, stressed or over stimulated. ❤ Thank you all for the amazing videos and episodes on rituals. Christine chapel's and Empire's voice sooth my soul. Can't wait to see you guys in SLC, UT. 🧡

“Man shouldn’t be able to see his own face - there’s nothing more sinister. Nature gave him the gift of not being able to see it, and of not being able to stare into his own eyes.
Only in the water of rivers and ponds could he look at his face. And the very posture he had to assume was symbolic. He had to bend over, stoop down, to commit the ignominy of beholding himself.
The inventor of the mirror poisoned the human heart.”

First thing, absolutely love the long episodes, especially due to banter. Secondly, there are plenty of apps that you can use a fake phone number and choose one from anywhere.
One thing I can't stop thinking about with the reflective surfaces is what about spectacle wearers? Would Em have to use some kind of device to prevent them being reflective if that's possible, or just go without them for a period of time?
Lastly, I feel terrible for the family in so many f-ed up aspects, but how in the absolute hell can Darren say he might know more about someone else who murdered his own children, but it's not important enough for him to care to potentially save the life of the mother of those children?! That he takes Drake to see her in prison and knowing she's fighting on death row. What about when Drake hears that information someday and knows the man who raised him could've been holding the key for him to live a life being raised by his mother...

What a gross miscarriage of justice...The statue for guilty verdicts is "beyond a reasonable doubt." Juries routinely completely misunderstand their roles as jurors and it is beyond frustrating. They aren't there to decide whether she did it, they are there to decide whether it is reasonably possible that she did NOT. That many unanswered questions should never result in a guilty verdict.

There’s this idea that the only way people were meant to look at themselves was by looking in the water, crouched down to see themselves. I always thought it was interesting.
I think that they are noting the difference between seeing yourself in something fixed like a mirror vs a reflection that is less accurate like moving water or in a spoon. 🙂

I think the reasoning for the mother doing this to her kids and not her husband can be pointed back to that journal entry where she talked about wanting to grow old with him, but she missed the spontaneity of life (possibly before their children). Perhaps her only goal was to stage an attack on her kids and then it would just be her and her husband again. Just a thought, however she was obviously suffering from post partum depression which can obviously cause you to behave in ways you normally wouldn’t. Now I say this ONLY as a thought IF the mother had done this and not an intruder.

My husband’s drawer: lots of different medicines and drugs for his various ailments such an inhalers, pain killers, adhd meds, and the random pair of gages he keeps saying he’s gonna wear but never does. My drawer: sex toys, kink shit, two non sexy time candles, and a sloth beanie baby my college roommate gifted me on our first day freshman year. 😂

I think it could easily go either way in terms of her interview and the birthday party. You can see it as extremely callous or you can see her behavior as shock and almost a sense of denial on her part as to the reality of the situation. It makes me feel more inclined to believe her innocent. I think anyone who could murder their sons and stage it, would be slightly more cunning and circumspect in their behavior.

I’m like…..not a lava expert exactly but I did study biology and geology in Iceland in the late 90s and managed to fall in a volcano, and the blue lava is caused by the sulphur content of the lava. It appears blue if there’s a higher concentration of it. 🩵
At least that is what they told us at the time. I’m not googling it to independently verify.
