Lilith is not a fallen angel, she's a human. The first woman to be precise, just like Adam is the first man. Their backstory was at the start of the very first episode.
Right, in the Hazbin universe - and I think in the original Hebrew or some other text - both Adam and Lilith, the first man and woman, were created from the dust of the earth, but Lilith wouldn't submit to Adam and left the Garden, and so Eve was created from Adam's rib.
Lilith`s actually originally from the Alphabet of Ben Sira which is like the OG Torah parody and is in turn loosely based on an owl goddess from Sanskrit and Sumerian Mythology called Lilitu.
Alastor doesn't like men that are stronger than him. He likes to be the most powerful and respected being in the room, that's why he tries to minimize Lucifer since the very first moment, but he is intelligent too, that's why he tries to "attack" where it hurts the most, which is Charlie. I think Alastor needs Charlie for something tho, he knows that it's power and potential Hidden inside Charlie and that when the time comes he could influence Charlie to make certain decisions, so he wants her to trust him.
I'd even go so far as to say Alastor is smart enough to not mess to much with Lucifer, since the king of hell could propably just snap him out of existance
Lucifer was simultaneously _not_ what I expected and _exactly_ what I expected. Viv and her team have a knack for pulling that off. (Also, 'short king' labels aside, Lucifer's canonically around 6 feet tall. Gives some sense of how tall everyone _else_ must be, don't it?)
Since you were confused about Mimzy's "mixed company" comment-- she means both people she can be casual with (Alastor, Husk, and NIffty), and celebrities that she'd want to impress (Lucifer).
My head cannon to explain Alistor is he cares deeply but he acts like he doesn't, because he is in self denial about how much he cares to protect his own feelings, which is why he always wears a smile, and he secretly wants the hotel to work so he can see him mom in heaven
Alastor didn't kill the Overlords he took down. He kidnapped them and tormented them, transmitting their screams through his radio broadcast. Sinners can't be killed unless it is with an angelic blade. Apparently, that's how Alastor became an Overlord, by submiting those Overlords to him and, in this way, getting not only their souls, but the souls they already possessed. The way Husk lost all the souls he had and then sold his to Alastor to keep his powers is evidence of that. It's possible that Alastor took advantage of Husk's losing streak to get the rest of the souls he possessed and then had him sell his own soul.
"Take that depression!!!" Is the best line ever! I use it so much whenever something good happens. You mentioned wanting to know what "mixed company" means. It usually means there is people of different social classes. Like rich and poor, upper class and lower class, royalty and peasants, in the same grouping. If one is looking to climb in a social hierarchy you would want to look and act your best to those you deem higher up. She was not expecting to impress on someone of a higher status then the "slob factory" as she called it. Also I said before but the reveal that someone else owns Alastor's soul was an insane lore drop!!! Like the fandom went nuts! And of course, "More Than Anything" is my top most favorite song ever. I cry every single time. It has my heart. Lilith was a human when she was banished to hell with Lucifer. I don't believe its fully confirmed if she is still human or became a demon. She is not a sinner like others cause she never died. I believe she does not have wings so it seems Charlie inherited that. But who knows, we got another season and maybe a lot more to learn more.
@@TheHeckOfficial Oh that reminds me, Erika, voice of Charlie, has mentioned I think multiple times wanting to get the whole cast together to do a live performance of all the songs of Hazbin Hotel. Since John and Chris both noticed it, the ringtone on Lucifer's phone is 'Thunder and Blazes', a screamer march adaptation of Julius Fučík's 'Entrance of the Gladiators' -- it's been popular for circus acts since the early 1900s, which is why it's so closely associated with clowns. (I know John's all about metal, so I wasn't sure if Belle Époque-era marches were something he knew much about -- I'm just a fan of the bombastic brass.)
This show is actually Blake Roman(Angel Dust and the Egg Bois`) first voice acting role and it got him into Broadway because all the others were from Broadway!
From what I understand, the angels were coming down to do a slaughter and Lucifer formed a deal to save the hellborns, like Charlie and other demons that are not sinner souls. That’s how he “let this happen”.
Lilith was the first human woman even before Eve and she was cast into hell with Lucifer (said in ep1), since she was not killed it may mean she's technically not a Sinner which would make sense as Sinners can't reproduce but she had Charlie. Lilith did have demonic powers so combined with Lucifer being an angel Charlie is a nephilim (half-human half angel) with demon powers, she is called a hellborn out of a technicality of being born in hell but she's more like the human Sinners with a soul. Lucifer likely wasn't given much of a choice when it came to the extermination however he did get the hellborn a pardon and unless Charlie is really really old he didn't do it for her but for the hellborn to have a chance to be good or bad.
I low-key kinda like the deeper voices that they had to do for copyright (probably) But I also like how you can kinda hear the original in the background, lmao
I see Alastor as a good person when his goal is alligned with yours, but I feel as soon as your in his way - between him and his goal, there is not second thought about killing you.
one of my favorite episodes. I was surprised Alastor and Lucifer didn't get along since they have so much in common. Makes for a great swing battle with that musical number. Lucifer was a surprise to just about everyone. We all thought he would be more strict from what Charlie implied but he turned out to be an adorable dork like Stolas. Jeremy Jordan really makes a great dad. We're used to him playing younger characters. As for Alastor, while he definitely just wanted to get under Lucifer's skin by claiming to be a better "dad" than him, I think over time he will become a mentor of sorts to her. He may have ulterior motives but I think think Charlie is starting to have an effect on him judging by that genuine smile he had during More than Anything.
I feel like part of Alastor's deal is he's meant to keep a certain amount of... well... imbalance. Maybe he has a deal involving Lilith to some effect or another? There's also a suggestion that it has to do with an even greater evil than Lucifer... (specifically the Root of All Evil.)
Lilith is not a falling angel only Lucifer is and for Alastor Vivian said that Alastor gets along very well with women not the guys and Alastor’s mother raised him how to treat women better and also his mother is in heaven too he lost his mom in his 30’s too his eyes has more expression showing how much he feels and sometimes how he smiles too and also Alastor doesn’t like Lucifer cause Lucifer is more powerful than alastor Alastor doesn’t like that
I have not heard it confirmed when he lost his mother, just that he did. It is suspected she is in heaven, but so far much of Alastor's past is all hypothetical, Viv even said past stuff has possibly been changed as the years went by and she likes all the misdirection cause it makes it hard to guess the future.
"Mixed company" is usually used to mean when you're in company of different classes/ages/sexes/family vs not family/etc. Basically any situation where something is more appropriate for one group more than the other. Like women casually talking about periods, or other lady issues, when there are men around, would be a situation where you say, "Not in mixed company."
IIRC there is no live version of More than Anything yet. Jeremy has been busy with Broadway work, so wasn't involved with the premier where the live performances were done. Also, I know you do shows and anime, but I would absolutely love to see your reactions to some of Jeremy's other performances, from Newsies and other broadway shows of course, but also his live shows. That man can sing so much. Probably my favorites are him singing "It's all coming back to me now" and his Pink tribute and disney medleys.
This is actually the first time Lucifer and Alastor have met which is why Alastor made the comment about Luci being much shorter IRL than in Charlie`s family portraits even though Lilith clearly dwarfs him even in those.
My headcanon is that I feel like a part of Alastor resents Lucifer. Lucifer is so much more powerful than Alastor, but I’m sure he views Lucifer as weaker because he lets his emotions and love for Charlie and Lilith tie him down. If Alastor had Lucifer’s power, he would have made all of hell kneel to him, but Lucifer doesn’t because Lucifer never wanted power.
Lilith was created from the Dust of the Earth like Adam, so she was of equal Status. And when Adam demanded control, she Fled. Then Eve was created from a Rib of Adam, so she technically was just a Part of him, his subject.
Lilith is not a fallen angel. Remember from the little story at the start of episode 1; she was the first human woman formed alongside Adam. Not sure what exactly she became when she was cast down to with Lucifer. In the Bible canon, she became the first ever succubus I believe. Maybe she just became some form of demon like other sinners. Just more powerful. She could rally and control the demon population through her song.
I noticed in this series, Alastor stops making issue about Lucifer right with this episode. Could be because of the absence - but I think Al was just goading Lu into doing what Charlie needed, and possibly a bit miffed that Lu could just ditch Charlie while Al is here picking up the pieces. I mean look at Alastor's kind expression when the Lu - Charlie Duet starts
Even before seeing the rest of season 1's episodes, i never got the impression that Alastor sent Mimzy away because he was trying to be good. It seems pretty clear he has an ulterior motive that doesn't necessarily align with Charlie's goals, but Charlie is technically more powerful than Alastor. It seems more likely to me that he wants to influence her on how she may use her power in the future as well as maybe even using her to get out of the deal he's stuck in. To put it shortly, he needs Charlie to think he cares about the hotel enough to help it succeed so she trusts him, which will allow him to manipulate Charlie into doing and/or giving him what he's really after, and Mimzy being there attracting trouble would only risk jeopardizing his plans. That was my read on that interaction, anyway.
Lilith was Adam`s first wife so she was originally human and became a demon in Hell like the other Sinners because of choosing Lucifer over God and Adam and helping Luci tempt Eve.
no they didnt do anything live. they all self recorded this at home and sent it in for a studio to mix. due to this taking 4-5 years to make. it partake during the corona virus. but during the premiere they played a few songs live by piano at the theater.
I really wanna believe that Alastor is genuinely concerned for Charlie. Despite being such an ambiguous and somewhat antagonistic character, I don't want Alastor's bond with Charlie to be destroyed and want Alastor to have a happy ending of his own. Maybe this impossible and I'm asking for too much but this how I feel. Anyone else
I hope u read my comments for clarification, LILITH is like ADAM made on her own the FIRST woman unlike EVE who was made from Adams ribbs and meant to be not equal to Adam like Lilith, because of this reasoning i think thats why Lilith was so powerful like Adam they were both made as equals and the first humans, after that, I think the rest of humankind and their souls are weaker since they are a lesser creation of Adam from hiss ribb. Thats why other human souls arent as powerful and why Alistors such an anomaly because no ones ever witnessed human soul with such great power that can topple overlords and ancient evils.
