Hayden crushed it this episode. Love seeing his fighting stance and how it changes depending on which time it is for him. This episode made me feel like a kid with how much excitement I had while watching. Just an amazing episode. Can't wait to see what else Ahsoka show will bring.
he really nailed the entirety of Anakin's character arc just by delivering the excat lines in accordance with the personality, from Matt Lanter's Anakin in The Clone Wars to ROTS to being full Vader. Not to mention, he did his iconic signature spin move from ROTS, he almost did the very same disarming move to Ahsoka as he did to Dooku in ROTS and the kick move that he did to Reva in Kenobi
@@primecoconut4204 copy that. But yeah, because it's in the World Between Worlds, I figured he's a variant. But a force ghost inside the WBW is a bit mind blending
By far the best Anakin performance in the saga, love how Hayden brought the best from Matt Lanter's performance into his own, and he's still the master a choreography.
The moment Anakin said, "Is that what this is about?" He knew immediately why Ahsoka was struggling. He saw turmoil in her past, her ability to move and live her life instead of wondering what could have been if she stayed by Anakin's side! Thats subtly the best line in this episode because he immediately realized that he has to give her a choice to either keep fighting and move ahead, or live in the past and pick at her wounds. Dave Filoni! Sir, you are a fuckin genius. Best star wars since star wars happened!
Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but I also thought him forcing her to make the choice and her choosing not to kill was to disprove her belief that her legacy is only death and destruction (presumably it will also go into her teaching Sabine further).
@@consolescrub4031 you're not. Ostensibly this lesson was to get her to 1 stop moping(she's been wracked with guilt for leaving since just before Malachor) 2 to realize that her survival was because of her master. And 3 to facilitate her own ascension
You can definitely see the impact that this episode had on Ahsoka, the change in emotion that happened as she goes from “gray” to “white” during this episode. Goes to show that Filoni was the one to trust with a story like this.
My supervisor literally asked me if I was okay because I looked like someone who just cried, and I told him I'm fine (which I'm not, Ahsoka made me cry again)
I like what someone else mentioned elsewhere, that this is what it truly meant for Anakin to be the Chosen One, by keeping balance from within the Cosmic Force itself.
Big props to Haydan for an amazing performance. He embodied so many different versions of Anakin in such a short space of time and the transitions between the different Anakins was really well acted. Loved the young actress playing young Ahsoka too. Great performances all round. 👏👏👏
When she told Anakin I won't fight you he said I've heard that before callback to Luke,It's real that's why Jason heard the light sabres. The young Ashoka was amazing.

It just proves that Hayden wasn’t the problem in those films… as well as him doing his best work here. I think going forward, the Rosario haters are gonna eat their words. The foreshadowing shots of Anakin/Vader were everything. He also didn’t feel forced into the plot too. The other stuff was really good too. Dave’s getting better with his style every time he directs one of these episodes. Can’t wait for his film. It wasn’t a perfect episode, but it was pretty damn close.
Take care of yourself mate. I had that bug before there was a Vaccine, and ended up in the ER twice in one week and put on oxygen for a month. I've had full blow flu as well, I tell you right now. I would sprinkle the flu on my eggs in the morning every day compared to what I went through with the big C. I think there is a line that many people will overlook. When Jacen says, "i've been inside a starship before." Ashoka: "A Jedi's Starship?" Ashoka has made peace with her past, chosen to be more than the Legacy of Vader. She is now a Jedi, wholeheartily.
Bro I know right! I was tearing up while also smiling like an idiot the entire time. I really hope the showrunners don't pay attention to those annoying haters that swarm any Disney Star Wars content, because actual fans will be floored by this episode.
That was Anakin....He said something only he would know. 'I won't fight you' Anakin: 'I've heard that before '. Luke said this to Vader 'I won't fight you father'.
I think this was unquestionably “real” and truly the spirit of Anakin. Especially since Jacen was able to sense them dueling as well. Anakin is Anakin, he is the chosen one, he is Vader, he is the father. He is all of those things in the cosmic force. I agree that it was a great moment when Ahsoka alludes to his fall and he’s like “is that what this is about?” Btw, Teva’s response to Hu Yang was not only hilarious, but very meta in the sense of he’s all the people who never watched the animation 😂
I was saying all week, the story of Anakin is the story of Vader, so Ahsoka was going to face them both, in the one person. Meanwhile, in other points about the flashback, the girl who plays teen Ahsoka was a great choice, for face-shape matching the animation in the Clone Wars, and did you notice, Anakin's de-aging varied according to what stage he was at. At the end, it looked like Hayden had low - if any - de-aging, while the early Clone Wars Ani with short hair had more.
I do choose to believe it was really Anakin. I think the Force really sent him to guide her, because she needed to face everything she was feeling about him.
I think the injured clone and the casting of teen Ahsoka are the same basic production idea - wrapping the clone means they didn't have to cgi a young Tem, and they cast a 16-yr-old for Ahsoka (I looked her up, Ariana Greenblatt), so the look of her was all practical - all her face-shape, make-up and costume. Again, no cgi, and we know cgi costs big bucks.
I called it Ahsoka The White and of course that was Anakin and it didn't occur to me until an hour ago but Anakin helped her pass her jedi trials and now she's more like her old self she needed this for years
Don't know if anyone here's said it or not, but, I see a parallel between the final scene of *_The Empire Strikes Back_* in which Lando promises to Leia that he and Chewbacca/Chewie would find Han, and here where Ahsoka promises to Hera that she would find Sabine and Ezra 🤔🤯🥺🥲🤗😉👍😌!
Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather, but that definitely didn't stop you from dropping a typically insightful, detailed post-episode analysis. As per usual, I agree with the points you made, and I also loved how complex and layered they made the whole interaction between Anakin and Ahsoka. Pretty much a perfect way to frame and execute the classic tropes of the "trip to and from hell" and facing the darker aspects of your own self to then come out enlightened on the other end. What an amazing episode. No idea how they're going to top this for the final three episodes, but I can't wait to see what they have in store for us!
I think it's awesome that Young Ahsoka was played by the same actress who played Young Gamora in Infinity War and Endgame (Ariana Greenblatt) I thought she seemed familiar but couldn't place it
The fact that Anakin says "I've heard that before" when Ahsoka says she won't fight him, referencing Luke saying the same thing, suggests that this really is Anakin's force ghost since Ahsoka would not be aware of that interaction with Luke and so it's not just her imagining a version of Anakin.
Now, can we have a show with an episode with Anakin and Luke? Having the chosen one with experience with the light and dark side of the force teaching his son would make me freak.
I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get better soon. This episode was amazing to me and I think Hayden did such a fantastic job! I got chills and goosebumps throughout the entire thing 😅
When it comes to Hera (and the rest) staying behind, I assumed it's because they really need to explain the situation to the new republic. That's both to try to get some assistance in the event that something not-so-great comes back (and I think we all know that Thrawn's return is inevitable), but also firstly to just explain why they went rogue and to try to salvage their career. I think if Hera left, she's throwing Carson, Lander, and the rest of those X-wing pilots under the bus, not to mention her own career.
Ahsoka's foundations had been shaken & taken from her like the betrayal by the Jedi order that so quickly abandoned their support and the key family figure, "older brother" who turned evil.
I said "this show is something special" about 10 times last night. And that's from someone who's never watched clone wars or rebels. This is the best star warsing a star wars has done in a long time, even though I genuinely like episodes 7 and 9
Just catching up on Ahsoka now and WOW this episode was fantastic. Hayden Christensen was so compelling. Great reaction, I'm impressed you were able to get through it with Covid!
I'm so sorry that you got Covid. I've had it twice and I'm now disabled because of it. I strongly urge you to keep an eye out for any changes in your body once you've recovered from Covid. It has a nasty habit of permanently affecting various systems throughout the body. I hope you feel better soon and with no lingering effects.
From watching all of Clone Wars and Rebels this episode was such a treat! Bonus by watching it with my parents and they love it too. I had to do some explaining but they got it down
Hayden Christensen absolutely killed it. He successfully merged clone wars Anakin and prequels Anakin into one character. He's better than he ever was.
Best thing of star wars since Episode 3 (haven't seen clone wars YET), almost made me tear up since I grew up with the prequels and seeing Hayden as Anakin brought me straight back to my childhood. 11/10, peak tv.
we saw qui gon as a force ghost but with colors , on Mortis, so, Anakin appering as a "more complete" force ghost on World beteween Worlds (another nexus of the force) isnt strange.
Loved this episode so much! When you said at the start that Chopper would murder anyone who tried to mess with Jaycen, you totally reminded me of that Rick & Morty episode with the "Keep Summer Safe" protocol that Rick programmed into his ship's AI 😹
I don't think most people even notice how it takes him a minute to put away all that hate and all that anger. Like it's easy to open the box and let the monster out, but it takes serious focus to bring yourself back from that and control all that raw emotion. The transition to Sith, so quick and powerful, the transition back much more difficult. Love it!
Hey Omni, just wanna quickly say i appreciate your consistency so much. Every time i finished watching an episode, went straight to youtube and your reaction is always there. Definitely my go to reactor
I had chills and starry eyes during the entirety of the episode... 😍 That was just oh so deep/profound, full of hope, with all the sheer wisdom and hopefulness we oh love from Star Wars... This be-lo-ved space adventure that has a true soul and for which we vibrate with all our hearts. 💖✨ #AhsokaTano #AnakinSkywalker #HeraSyndulla #JacenSyndulla
My favorite episode so far, it felt like a movie! Stellar performances by everyone, this is the kind of Star Wars I've been waiting on for a a long time!
It was Anakin. Ahsoka says "I'm not going to fight you" and Anakin says "I've heard that before" which directly references Luke and Vader in Episode 6. Then he doesn't recognize the Siege of Mandalore. If it was inside her mind that would make no sense for Anakin to say that. I think Anakin embodies The Father from the Mortis Gods and Ahsoka is the Daughter, since the daughter gave up her life to bring back Ahsoka. Now who is the son...
This episode was absolutely incredible. One of the best Star Wars things I’ve ever seen. Seeing a live action recreation of The Clone Wars and seeing Hayden as Anakin as well as a live action young Ahsoka and Rex was all something I’ve wanted to see for as long as I can remember and it was handled unbelievably well. I hope we see more things like this. I’d love to see a live action Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Luke and Rex talking. As a massive Star Wars fan, this was everything I’ve ever wanted to see and more.
What a beautiful episode! My Clone Wars heart cried and is happy❤ and seeing the Purgil in Live Action was amazing, I wish I could watch it in theaters... Greetings from Germany❤

Sorry you’re sick, man. Hope you can hydrate and rest up, and that you feel better soon!
It's quite biblical, in that Anikin tempted her with the dark side, and she rejected it.
Ariana Greenblatt is crushing it! Young Ahsoka, young Gamora, main tween in the Barbie movie. Can’t wait to see where she goes next!!
I bet his kids have so much fun "sword fighting" with Dad!!! How awesome.
You're a freaking trooper! Great reaction all things considered. Hope you feel better, man!
Holy crap, HOLY CRAP! We finally get to see Hayden/ Anakin in his clone wars attire in live action! COOL!!
we saw qui gon as a force ghost but with colors , on Mortis, so, Anakin appering as a "more complete" force ghost on World beteween Worlds (another nexus of the force) isnt strange.
Loved this episode so much! When you said at the start that Chopper would murder anyone who tried to mess with Jaycen, you totally reminded me of that Rick & Morty episode with the "Keep Summer Safe" protocol that Rick programmed into his ship's AI 😹
Haven't heard anyone mention that Ahsoka's light Saber is just slightly less white than his.
No one swings a lightsaber like Hayden!
This was the best Star Wars I've seen in a loooong time.
When you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.
So glad you managed to do this 100 percent professional x and went to a x file convention what a trooper x love from the uk

Dave Filoni is a genius.
This was an incredible episode, they did young Ahsoka and de-aging Hayden so well !
(Why was Hera able to sense a force echo though? 🤔….)
She's fully open and at balance. Anyone is capable of using all these different powers but many aren't as open
Dude!!
Str8 up TEARS of JOY!!
I'm sick too, but just like you wouldn't
have missed this for anything 😢😢
Cried like a baby throughout this episode. What an amazing bit of Star Wars lore ❤. Hope you feel better soon🤗
Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader finally merged into The Father!
"You look old" Hey, Ahsoka is canonically 45. That's not old old... 😢
😂😂😂
Didn't you Notice Hayden's voice change From his Own to James earl Jone's voice When he Says You lack conviction?
Do take care of yourself. Hope your recover with no long-term issues.🖤
Hope you're feeling better soon! 🙏
Damn, I hope you recover quickly, you don't look as bad as you feel! 😅
Thank You for your reaction and your input. Now, go get some much needed rest...
What a beautiful episode! My Clone Wars heart cried and is happy❤ and seeing the Purgil in Live Action was amazing, I wish I could watch it in theaters... Greetings from Germany❤
I'm sorry that you are not feeling well. Feel better soon! That said, this episode was amazing and I couldn't wait to see your reaction!
I just can't. This was everything. And I'm a total mess 😂
