Im glad you noticed that. I had someone comment earlier saying something similar. I think he didn't get a good strike in a good spot is all on this one.
Great video. Very informative. Oh and awesome shades my dude. At 4:45 did you say you call the rat "Skibidi pants"? Also, talk about playing with your food, the snake dragged the rat all around the tank before it swallowed it.
2 things i notice about the cottonmouth. 1. Not a very accurate striker compared to the rattlesnakes. Misses or adjusts strikes a lot. 2. Venom doesn't seem very potent, in the these videos the rodents take a long time to die. Probably because the rats are bigger than mice. But the mice usually succumb in less than a minute to the rattlesnake venom. Would like to hear Josues opinion on this.
I would have to say I think you are right. I believe the size of the rodent plays a vital role in all this and also bite location on the prey item as well. Then who knows he may metering small amounts of venom instead of a large dose as well. That's only just a few variables. But overall I think the rattlesnake venom is far more toxic compared to the water moccasin.
I'm just curious, do you breed these rats or get them store bought? also why do you feed your reptiles live instead of defrosted? apart from enrichment for the snake, don't you feel bad about causing the rat stress and pain? I am not judging I am just curious as an animal management student a live feeder perspective
That is one pissed off snake. Think he remembers us all laughing at him for falling over on to his belly last time.
You may be right on that!
Gotta tell you, Your videos have gotten better and better and better. You should be very proud!!
I've been trying to upgrade the content some. I'm glad you enjoy it. Thanks for taking the time to watch my videos!
So crazy how the venom works so quickly in some and yet others takes a good bit to finish the job. Thanks again for another great video!!

Hisself? Really?
Himself? Maybe?
I don't always interact with young people, but when I do, I weep for humanity.
Maybe I did it on purpose?

It looked like he did and if so I think he would be immune to his own venom
Yea the title was just for dramatic effect!
