Thanks for the review. I am disappointed to find this class of monitors hasn't really changed much since I got my first "premium" one 8 years ago (Acer XB271HU). Comparing this Viewsonic against the same in class from MSI, Gigabyte and LG, I'm not even sure if I would pay the extra for them over the cheaper Viewsonic as they all still suffer from this business of greyed-out gamma and white balance controls in sRGB mode, which really should be the default mode with all user controls enabled. It's like the engineers can't seem to get their head around the concept that someone would want to use a monitor in the industry standard mode and actually make some adjustments to the picture - oh no we can't have that, too much to ask. sRGB is somehow seen as a "special mode" that needs to have all its settings locked down and greyed out. I'm guessing it's due to developer laziness not wanting to ensure those user adjustments actually work properly in the sRGB mode. Maybe the colour math was too hard for them or something, although I know for a fact it's easy as I've implemented white balance and gamma controls in my own app, including a special near black gamma curve adjuster - kind of like the "black stabilisation" on the Viewsonic but way more fine tunable in terms of how "wide" the adjustment range is and the intensity.
Amazing content thanks !!! One question is the DP cable provided good enough for 165hz and stable/ great performance otherwise ? Ie DP2.1 vesa certified DP40 or DP80 rated ?
Per the review HDR is pretty rubbish on this monitor for HDR, but you can still use it for a bit of variety from time to time. You use it if you like the look of it, basically - it's up to you.
Per the review 180Hz requires the use of the restrictive 'OverClocking' setting which disables Adaptive-Sync and isn't guaranteed to work. It's more for marketing than anything else.
They're to set up my unit optimally and according to my preferences, as noted in the video. For photo editing you need to consider your working colour space and unit-specific changes to colour temperature. Ideally with the help of a colorimeter or similar device. Per the review there's no sRGB emulation mdoe on the monitor so consider an alternative (if you don't have a colorimeter to profile the monitor) - pcmonitors.info/articles/taming-the-wide-gamut-using-srgb-emulation/.
The settings shown here apply to the monitor, regardless of system. Outside of that it's the case of setting things up according to your own preferences and what YOU find best.
@@PCMonitorsnvm I thought we had the same monitor we got the same name but my monitor only has 2 buttons on it and like a lil joystick button so do I hold all three of them down individually for 10 seconds?
This is covered in the main OSD video. It just gives a rough indication of the relative power usage of your current settings vs. maximum of the monitor. It's mainly affected by brightness and anything affecting brightness.

I like the OSD on this monitor. Seems clean and readable. I feel like AOC has the worst OSD. I hate navigating it.
Hi, how did you disable eco mode ? (im in standard) And I dont have "energy saving"
Thanks for the review.

Yes, the supplied cable is perfectly fine.
Hey, i just got this monitor and this helped me alot thanks for taking the time god bless
Is it better to have HDR on or just go with SDR? Also is the monitor below the VESA Certified 400 and does that mean it is worse in HDR than in SDR
Per the review HDR is pretty rubbish on this monitor for HDR, but you can still use it for a bit of variety from time to time. You use it if you like the look of it, basically - it's up to you.
Applied the same RGB as you did but idk if it's just me but the colors are a tad too warm now
Then try different adjustments, as noted individual units differ.
A bit of a problem I'm having. Display settings only show up to 165Hz and it's supposed to be up to 180Hz. I'm using type-c to DP.
Per the review 180Hz requires the use of the restrictive 'OverClocking' setting which disables Adaptive-Sync and isn't guaranteed to work. It's more for marketing than anything else.
God Bless y’all
Do you issue with backlight glow at the corner of screen?like bleeding because mine look obvious
Could be 'IPS glow', with additional uniformity issues that vary between units. This is covered in the review.
Thanks a lot man the hdr was problem
Hello,Some settings of my monitor are locked.Like response time and the ones above. How do i change that? VIEWSONIC XG2431
it's normal that when in some display mode, some functions are locked. It's better to customize your own settings than using default modes
Can you do this on: viewsonic omni vx2418-p-mhd 24 inch 1080p 1ms 165hz gaming monitor curved ??
Nope.
can u do about VA2932. I have some trouble with this monitor.
No, won't be reviewing that one (which appears to be only available in Asia).
is there a built in crosshair?
Yes.
@@PCMonitors how do i use it
@@Synce_all I'd advise watching the OSD video if you need guidance on that - ua-cam.com/video/2CP_xZrhbPU/v-deo.htmlsi=RqH5KPkinvmP5I-g&t=105 .
Are these settings applicable to the vx2416?
You can try them and see if you like them, but it's a very different monitor.
@@PCMonitors seems to work, btw I'm colorblind can you help me? I just want it to be more vibrant, you got any suggestions to make it more vibrant?
If you have an Nvidia GPU, I'd recommend experimenting with boosting Nvidia Digital Vibrancy in Nvidia Control Panel.

Is it have software?
I'd recommend watching the review.
Can you give us the beat settinga of this monitor for ps5 please ?

Could you help me unlock my osd or whatever I literally have the same monitor and it’s been locked for the last week and don’t know how to unlock it
Try holding each button (individually) for 10 seconds. One of them should unlock the OSD.
@@PCMonitorsnvm I thought we had the same monitor we got the same name but my monitor only has 2 buttons on it and like a lil joystick button so do I hold all three of them down individually for 10 seconds?
@@cgo.2Try individually holding every button plus the joystick, including different directions for the joystick.

Yes.
how to change the referesh rate?
On your system (graphics driver or Windows etc.) or in the game.
Hey could you tell me why i cant open view mode its locked
Maybe you're running the monitor in HDR?
@@PCMonitors ty that helped
How do I use the 180hz?

I don't have a hdr mode?
Do you have the VX2728J-2K, then?
@@PCMonitors ahh that must be the 2k version 🤔
Yes, it's the 2560 x 1440 model.
@@PCMonitors ahh no worries thanks!
despite chaning any settings, colors are still pale on this monitor.
my response time is greyed out ??
You’re probably using a preset viewing mode that locks you out of changing the response time. Use the standard preset and it should work
i some how accidentally turned brightness on 100% AND ITS NOT LETTING ME CHANGE IT LOL
You probably activated HDR on your system.
do you know what the battery indicator on the osd mean? it show 96%
