Hi , does the oorlam peoples still exist. And how many of them are in Namibië? ( I think their language was Afrikaans) thanks.
Yes they do exist; south of Namibia in the area called "Vaalgras". They speak the Khoekhoe language aka Damara/Nama language
The orlaams are actually Hereros who came from the omaheke region during the German war of 1904-1905. The hereros flee from Omaheke to Karas region and settled at Valgraas while some settled at areas like Berseba and Gainachas. They lived together with the namas and started to speak the nama language as well.
The orlaams do have a music band and they are very good at music.
