Thank you for the s!ck reaction Bob! They just announced the lineup for Louder Than Life on Wednesday and I immediately got my pass for the first day to see The Warning, Fit For A King, and a few other bands!
There is a behind the scenes video which shows that most of the live action was recorded directly in B&W with high contrast on an iPhone, then the special effects like the fly were added to it. 😎👍
I watched this MV and wondered if they'd be touring the UK sometime soon...turns out they are not only performing at 4 places here in April but that the 1st gig will be here in my home city, Cardiff! In the students union hall, which is just 2000 standing only! And it was only £19 for a ticket ($24)! I saw Babymetal at the same place back in 2020 and now I'm just hoping that Band-Maid and NAemophila might get here too! Roll on the 26th April!
I was pretty excited to get tickets for the Cardiff gig too! I'm 70 and I'll have to use the limited seating area, but I'm so looking forward to seeing them live! As you say - roll on!
@@theuserformerlyknownas-ou7wd9 There's seating?! Up in the balcony? I saw that there were some people watching from up there when I saw Babymetal at the venue in 2020. See you at the gig!
Hey Bob. Yeah , it's a new release, dropped on Feb 2, between Dany and Pau's birthdays. So kind of a b-day present for both of them. They did a 15 minute live stream as an intro to the video drop, then were off to the Shiprocked cruise. Pau celebrated her birthday onboard. Some have said they think this is overproduced, that did cross my mind first time I heard it, but it's still a good song, and it's grown on me. Still very much looking forward to a pro shot live, or seeing them in concert. "Sick" and another, as yet unreleased song , "Hell You Call A Dream", were recorded around the same time as "More". Both Sick and HYCAD have been played live, but only fan cam videos available so far.
All I know Chris is that she f you want a great rock sound then listen to these ladies. To me it doesn’t matter if it’s over produced or not. If it’s good it’s good. That’s my take. Have a great weekend my friend.
This song came about during a writing session with Anton Delost. He constantly used the word "sick" as part of his vernacular, and it struck them "we can write a song using that." "Sick", "More", and "Hell You Call A Dream" were recorded in March 2022. Anton is also their producer for the up coming album. This video was recorded in 10 days last year before they went on their 1st European tour.
There is a real 90's-2000's vibe to this, but with a modern twist. This video is indeed quite reminiscent of "Take On Me" I love that they are so good at delivering good compact musical storytelling. They have a knack for packaging nice musical short stories in 3+ minutes over and over. I have not yet tired of all they ways they have done this so far. Thanks for pointing out the 4-beat, drop back in on one, satisfying return from a short break. Not sure about your house, but if I did not have a cover on my bari mouthpiece, that reed would not last more than about an hour before someone around here buggered it up 😆
lol I tend to not keep my reeds on my instruments. That way they don’t dry out or warp funny. So all of mine are redness until I go to play. Also if it was on there mine would get buggered up too. 🤣
I'm so glad I'm not a musician or have any musical knowledge whatsoever. I couldn't imagine listening to a song and be counting beats like you were talking about counting to four and knowing something was going to hit then. I just listen to it and enjoy it
I think i would personally say their visual influence probably comes more from early 90's MTV. This video in particular puts me in mind of some of the wild stuff that used to run on the Liquid Television block. Either way, these ladies are absolutely the future of the genre. I can't wait to see who *they* inspire.

As a teacher you might be interested in a Masterclass that Pau gave (see below). It's long, with subtitles, but the middle section is Pau's lengthy explanation of their "David Bendeth bootcamp" where they learned how to "play in time" and "sound human" in the studio, and the torturous, months long journey they embarked on when they returned home and discovered to their horror that their newly trained ears informed them they sounded like shit when they played live together. The end result is the air-tight, supremely confident live band we know today - ua-cam.com/video/GMBy4yS86OY/v-deo.html
Kind of reminds me of old classic rock. I'm still not a fan of the vocals, can't really say why, but I really liked the guitar/bass sound combination. I would have preferred the drum beat to have been a slightly deeper tone (matching at the 3:08 mark) but that's just me. Overall a pretty "sick" song! I enjoyed the fly getting swatted, lol.
Like their work flow it is flawless and on purpose. Most of their videos have ester eggs and hidden meanings, one can find tons of nuances that are possible to analyze and pick apart. They have references to other songs and artists. Like the little pose dance Pau does in front of the heart. It´s a reference to Japanese Manga culture. (They have Japanese influences in several songs). The complete video to "Animosity" is Manga. There are always hidden things in their productions. I heard some one say "The Warning are not just musicians, they are story tellers". Great reaction!
Is it The Warning? YES! Did we expect this? NO! Is it awesome? YES! Is it like any other The Waning track? NO! This makes 2 releases and 3 songs off the new album. 🔥👸👸👸🔥 Thanks Bob I noticed you have a couple of saxophones in your music room. That reminded me that Dany played saxophone 🎷 at an early age. There are actually one or two videos of her playing the saxophone. I think for the Christmas holiday at school. Rock🤘😎
Very good music commentary. Alejandra (with an "a" [ ah sound ] at the end) is a female name. It kind of sounded like you were saying "Alejandro" (with an "o" [ oh sound ] at the end), which would be a male name. You can avoid future issues by just saying Ale (Ah-leh). Also, it was Pau (pronounced POW!) whose eyes changed color. In this video, Pau wears the striped tie.
This song is not doing good in the Louder new rock songs competition it was at 80% and has dropped to 44% contest ends on Sunday. So if you want to help DPA song S!CK ho back up to the top google the following " Louder the best new rock song you must hear now" and type the Warning next to the statement. Lets get this song to #1
So my cookies came today. Let’s just say I won’t be wearing that bikini this summer! … which is a good thing. Dudes should never wear them🤣. (Talk about making people S!CK!). But seriously, they are good! First bite I’m like “yup, that’s a cookie” but by the time you swallow it’s like “ok, one more bite…ok, one more bite, just one more.” I had to freeze them or they’d all be gone.
I know right. I only talk and suggest things that I think are worth it and the cookies are addicting. Thanks for trying them. If you don’t mind can I use this as a testimonial for the cookies.
I really enjoy your reactions.....but I think someone needs to coach you on how to pronounce the bassist' name. Her name is Ale (Ah-Lay) or Alejandra.... with an "ah" sound on the end. You are using the masculine version of her name.
Yes unfortunately I get excited and sometimes it comes out wrong. Check their other videos and you’ll see I can pronounce it right. My bad in this one.

That reminded me that Dany played saxophone 🎷 at an early age. There are actually one or two videos of her playing the saxophone. I think for the Christmas holiday at school.
Rock🤘😎
That’s pretty cool. Thanks for telling me.
cool information!! the references to the past rock is recognized by almost everyone.. so darn COOL, lots of "it reminds me of,,,,"
Very good music commentary.
Thanks I knew that about o and a and it just came out wrong. Thanks.
This song is not doing good in the Louder new rock songs competition it was at 80% and has dropped to 44% contest ends on Sunday. So if you want to help DPA song
S!CK ho back up to the top google the following " Louder the best new rock song you must hear now" and type the Warning next to the statement.
Lets get this song to #1
🔥
They didn't grow up in the 80s. Dani is the oldest at 25-26, so they grew up in the 2000s
Yep but they were influenced by that music from what I was told in the comments.
Dani is 24, Pau 22, and Ale 19.

Nice

I really enjoy your reactions.....but I think someone needs to coach you on how to pronounce the bassist' name. Her name is Ale (Ah-Lay) or Alejandra.... with an "ah" sound on the end. You are using the masculine version of her name.
Yes unfortunately I get excited and sometimes it comes out wrong. Check their other videos and you’ll see I can pronounce it right. My bad in this one.
