It is because of that conflict that happened between Devil and Angel inside him that Kazuya lost against Heihachi. After that Kazuya swore that he would never doubt like that again because thanks to that he lost everything once again and even his body.
To be fair when you think about how Kazuya was raised, him being a deadbeat dad is very much in character. If he stayed, he would've treated Jin the same way Heihachi treated him.
I feel like NOT being present in Jin's life for 19 years was the kindest thing Kazuya ever did for his son: I'm sure there are fanfictions about how bad it would have been had Kazuya been in Jin's life

(His henchmen are the real threat.) -King Of Fighters: Sort of like Street Fighter, except in this world the tournament has three person tag teams and the main antagonist (who's named after a flock of birds that honk) is an Aikido master who can actually make it work in a fight.
