Year late and I’m a first time builder but mine got coil whine pretty bad out of the blue after loading up fortnite after a week of having my of operational
I got a strix 4090 from microcenter yesterday too. Sucks yours did a lottery system, good idea bringing your wife though! My microcenter did it FCFS. Strix sold out first, zotac and gigabyte sold out last 🤣
just ordered gigabyte gaming oc it'll arrive tomorrow. It comes with a free Delta PSU 1300W Platinum ATX, i allready bought the be quiet Straight power 11 platinum 1200w , should i resell the Delta psu , never heard of it and cant find any reviews about its reliability, is it a trustworthy brand.
Congrats, you're going to love the 4090, the high resolution uplift is just nutty this gen. Delta PSUs are pretty well known brand in laptop world, very reliable PSUs.
Wish you’d bought a tripod for the camera 😃 I managed to get one secured and collecting it tommorow - my son is getting the strix 3090 so everyone is happy
Lol you’re so right. I have one but I was just too excited to get it on launch day. I was also working on a time crunch to play with it since I had to leave the next day for work. You are going to love the 4090. It’s an unreal card. And your son is very lucky.
Angled or straight cable? I've never had an issue with regular cable mod cables. I've been using cablemod cables for years on all of my cables in my systems. They're great quality cables, not some new company. I've been using their 40 series cable since launch my 2 4090s and my family has them on theirs. Not a single issue, reliable and stable for me. If you're talking about the angled adapter, well ya. Those are fire starters and has been know for a long time, don't use them.
yeah my angle adapter melted inside the GPU. What's your take on the new 16 pin to 4X8 pin converter they released to replace the angled adapter? Im looking for a way to better run my PSU cables into the GPU with a nice aesthetic @@TalonsTech
@@WestSidetheBestSide971 Interesting, I have not seen those before. They do look like a normal cable, less failure points so maybe safe? I would at least let some other people be guinea pigs first though lol. Thanks for pointing it out though, I might have to grab one for my own use, looks like a good way to reduce cable stress on side panel.
@@TalonsTech yeah that’s fair lol. The only reason I’m upgrading is because of the new vr headset I’m getting. It’s a 10k resolution headset with Micro Oled displays and HDR. I assume you have your reasons of getting one as well. I hope you are enjoying the card!
@@egirlsrule902 I've loved it. One of my favorite cards I've ever owned. The coolers on 40 series are incredible. 10K HDR Micro OLED display? My god that sounds glorious. Jealous for sure.
Really nice card no doubt. But really bad value compared to the FE. In the UK for instance you are talking a £500 price gap between both FE and the strix for very little extra performance. You are basically paying for a £500 heatsink.
Same, except you don't need a 4090 for a good gaming experience. You can buy a really well performing entire pc that's way less expensive than this gpu
They got so many rtx 4090 brands they got the Nevada GeForce rtx 4090 they got the gigabyte rtx 4090 they got so many brands what one is the best rtx 4090 for competitive gaming I’m tryna rock a rtx 4090 with a 500hz 1ms monitor an destroy kids in fps games
@@rollin60s11 I would recommend the asus rog strix oc variant, because that's just the best 4090 model overall. If you don't already have the 13900k I would advice you to go with 7950x3d, but only go for that if you didn't already bought a 13900k.
Card runs incredibly cool! Running 50c with stock fan profile at stock power and clocks in Battlefield 2042 at 4K Ultra settings at 2750Mhz!!
What about OC? Is it at least hitting 3ghz?
@@DDD-xx4mg Yes.
how is the coil whine ? is it bad ?

what are you going to do with the 3090 ti
Turned it into a nice table cup coaster.
Careful on that CableMod. I just bought one that burnt my GPU PINS

MONSTER CARD !
Congrats on the gpu buddy! It’s going to be at least a year before I can get one of these things. What’s up with the hydra cable lol!
Need a helmet cam mount
Why the hell do you need a 4090? You already have a 3090Ti
The real question is why not?

That heatsink may be needed at some point. If not then nvidia has killed the aftermarket and we wont see any partnerships next gen...
