Agreed 100% I grew up in Hong Kong with the Monkey sagas, finding these series has been amazing, not having to relearn Cantonese or Mandarin to watch so much better!!
This was a beautiful drama, just wish we got to see more of their “happily ever after” life. Even if it was just an additional 10-15 minutes I’d be content with that. But the most pitiful character is Tianqi; he lost the person that loves him the most, he can’t be with the person that he loves, his love rival is also someone he loves as a brother, he had to help raise a child that wasn’t his by the women that he loves but can’t be with, he’s all alone in the the end (we’ll sort of). Overall I love this drama and would rewatch it again!
This gives me hope for a second series. I would love to see him continue bringing up the naughty child and what possible developments there could be for Tianqi to have a some what happy ever after 😇😊

I am so happily tearful that Bai Jue came back to ShangGu. 💖 Thank you for this happy ending. After all the episodes, I could not imagine the world without Bai Jue, or any of the four true gods. Tianqi and Bai Jue were the most memorable for me. 💞
The way shang gu runned towards bai jue and the way she hugged him was so heart touching, i couldn't stop crying. I rate 10000000000/10 for this drama.

Bai Jue was a flawless character 💅 very thorough and detailed, and XK played him perfectly. Absolutely no complaints! Kudos to ZD as well she executed her Shanggu and Houchi perfectly. This was my second watch and I still enjoyed the parts I came back for, only wish they had given us more bai jue and shanggu at the end there.
This Halloween my husband and I are dressing up as the characters Bai Jue and Shangu. It doesn’t matter if no one knows who we are. It’s just something we want to do.
I would watch another season as well. The lead actors, as well as secondary cast were perfect in their roles. The series included just the right amount of serious elements; however, the comical parts like Houchi raining lightning strikes down upon those for whom she disliked were also a treat to watch.
I like to have season 2 and i hope that goddess Yuemi will alive again and marry with Tianqi. I would like to see the wedding of chief of god Shanggu and god of fire Bai jue. I like to look at Jingzhao how she feel when Bai Jue marry with shanggu
Thank God it had a good ending, I’ve been crying since episode 48, the best scene was her running to him at the end. Thank you for the most amazing drama, thank you for the English translations, thank you to Xu Kai and all the amazing cast, directors, cinematography and the music was amazing to.
Before watching this , I thought no other drama could top my list of favourites like ten miles of peach blossoms. But this has definitely topped it . This series gave me different kind of emotions ,I laughed ,I cried ,I smiled. It was a pleasure watching this drama. It's a beautifully ,well written and well acted love story . Kudos to a job well done to all the casts and crew. I will definitely keep rewatching this drama . I will miss Shanggu's beautiful smile and Qingmu's character ... the brighter version of Bai jue. And Tianqi. And Yuanqi is so adorable . Wished they had showed a little of their life as a family together .

After watching this drama numerous times, i give it 100/10. It is criminally under rated. This 400 million production is a total masterpiece. It 's good in every single way. Most of all, the inimitable enchanted Bai jue played by Xu kai made me a die hard Xu kai fan.
They could have continued this for a 50th episode or more so we could see the reunion and celebration of his return and the return of Jinjiang to Feng Ran. He still owes Yaunqi a magical weapon or two. I also think that Bai Jue would have made a better teacher than Doungran, or they both could teach Yaunqi.
I have never said or wrote this for a Chinese movie or drama before. This drama is a.....MASTERPIECE!🏆 Yes, I have watched TMOPB(4 times), Ashes of Love, Love & Redemption, Eternal Love of Dream etc. and I have enjoyed them very much, but I have to say that THIS drama was beyond my expectation. 🙇
Then watch untamed, pearl eclipse and legend of fuyao, the legend of Yun xi, long belled. you will love them also. love and redemption is my favorite too.
Phenomenal acting by Xu Kai and Zhou Dongyu. Their acting connects deeply with viewers' emotion and goes beyond that. You get so much from this drama. Truly a remarkable production! A big thank you to all the artists!
The production team did a really good job. The director /script writer did a really good job telling the story. It was not boring and with enough suspense to keep you watching. The costumes are beautiful. CGI were good. The whole cast were very good in terms of visual and acting. Xukai again never failed in the visual and acting department. Especially his crying scene will break your heart. Overall, it's a good production and worth watching.
Oh my tears are just flowing from now where. Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai you both did an awesome job. Thanks to everyone who was involved in setting this stage. I really enjoy every episodes.
I've not seen a lot of Chinese Historical dramas... The only one I've watched that comes close to this is: Till the End of the Moon. This is truly a Masterpiece❤ I enjoyed every bit of it
Hands down one of the best xianxia dramas i have ever seen. I admit i wasn't expecting much at first but wow did this drama go beyond my expectations. Bravo to the cast and crew, what an absolutely beautiful experience this drama was. For anyone looking for a similar drama, there are many xianxia dramas like this, but the one most similar is probably Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms aka Eternal Love (also worth noting it's my favourite c drama of all time hence how much i loved ALP).
I love this drama! Fell in love with Xu Kai’s acting and have watched all of his dramas! He is an amazing actor. I really love the storyline between Bai Jue and Shang Gu. He love Shang Gu to the point nothing else matters beside her being safe even if she misunderstood him. He had planned everything for 60 thousand years. He just never knew Wu Huan would be that evil and powerful to the point where he had to silently wait for his powers to recover to fight her. He had to endured them hurting Houchi and Shang gu and not being able to watch his son grow up. I can fully understand why he did what he did after watching the whole drama.
Best Wrapped up drama ever in terms of tying lose ends. Most dramas can learn from this! Although I feel we did not get to see Shangu and Bai Jue in love and actually be together- this entire story was beautifully made. Most dramas are rushed towards the end and leave you with so many questions. This drama tied up everyone's story so beautifully.

The story touched every aspects at the end making everyone reincarnate. But still I wished they showed us a little more of their happily ever after life. I want to see more of them. Loved this drama, acting, cast, CGI, ost, everything. Highly underrated drama, most be kept in one of the best Xianxia along with others. Worth a watch.

I've watched millions of drama like eternal love, eternal love of dream, ashes of love, falling into your smile etc....... and have never seen such a MASTERPIECE like this. Their acting was very believable Also I comment on drama that I likes Soo much and this is the first drama I commented on
The ending is always rushed. I would have loved to see their married life and them having more children. That aside, the last drama I watched so fast was LaR. This was good. I got TMoPB vibes. I loved Gu Jun, Tianqi, Hongri, Zihan and the gossipers in Qingchi. They made my day. Yuanqi was as adorable as Qingmu. Not forgetting Wu Huan. She rocked the white hair and the villainess role. I hope to see more of Lai Yi and Lu Xueyi. They've become my favorite actors. I thought Xu Kai was adorable in the Legends but him as Qingmu knocked it out of the park. I will miss the characters so much. Y'all did a great job. Even though I'm unsatisfied with the ending, the drama was pretty great.

For me ; this tops every other Chinese dramas I’ve watched (that includes falling into ur smile, love and redemption, ashes of love ...) I can’t even count how many times I’ve cried my eyes out ;for this drama. Honestly this drama deserves more than it received.
I agree with you. I’ve never cried this much for a drama. The acting was superb and all the actors/actresses really made you feel the emotions from the way they talked, their eyes and their gestures. I started out with Miss the Dragon, then went on to loving Love and Redemption, then Ashes of Love, now this. I’m so glad I gave it a chance because I would’ve missed out on an amazing series. I cried so much watching this, one episode onto the next, feeling the hurt with them and what they both went through to be together. I think this tops Love and Redemption… and I love L&R SO much. This was just wonderful. I have seen Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai in other dramas and they were so good in this. Zhou Dongyu's character evolved so much and she played her part with such honest depth and emotion. Liu Xue Yi is such a fine actor. I have seen him in several dramas and he always gives such a great performance. There were so many characters to enjoy. Thank you for this drama.
I've done watching this drama for the 2nd time now. Very emotional rollercoaster. Xukai's acting is really best of the best. His honey-like eyes really beautiful and he really knows his strength and display emotion so well. For Dongyou, I feel like her eyes lack emotion and yess after watching for the 2nd time I think she's good. She might not be our usual beautiful cute and naive FL that we used to watch but the more we look at her, the more pretty she becomes. ♡ I hope for season 2 pls 🤧🤧😍😍
😭 honestly I'm so emotional right now. I want to say a big thank you to the production crew, the actors for putting on a great show for us viewers. I don't know about other people but I connected with all the characters, the songs, everything was touching. I laughed, was angry , was sad and in tears at some point . You guys did a great job. I've just finished watching this again for I don't know how many times now. I can't seem to stop watching and between this and The Untamed I go between the two in between I may watch another drama but am always drawn back to these two. This is one of the most beautiful love stories ever and Xu Kai was a perfect Bai Jue

Cont, the love between Bai Jue and Shanggu was so pure and true. It's the kind of love most people don't get to experience. I cry everytime I watch especially the ending. That's what just happened, I was crying so hard I had to dry my tears and messed up the texting. This was such an underrated drama and yet it's one of the best I've ever seen or read about. I spent most of my life reading books, I was not a T V person so I listened to a lot of classical music and jazz, and read tons of books. I still read a lot but since I watched my first Chinese drama I've been hooked. So I will stay awake for days just watching a drama. It's not so easy to do at 70yrs. But once you start watching these amazing dramas unfold before your eyes you'll never watch anything but. I don't think I've watched anything put out by Hollywood in years. I don't care for the vulgar language nor the nudity or sex. I think that it's gotten to be the norm in films but still isn't in real life. So I've not been tempted to watch anything since the Jurassic park series of films came out. I am even trying to learn Chinese do I can watch without subtitles. I really wish to Thank all involved in bringing Ancient Love Poetry to the screen. It's beautifully done and heartbreakingly sincere. The cast, crew and actors all did a wonderful job. i have watched this drama many time and i have never get tired of it view. frankly speaking xukai is my favorite actor in the whole wold, just happen to like him also all his drame, publicities and everything he does. before despite watching several drama i never had the favorite actor. he has such a charismatic aura and an amazing acting skills, he's good at all types of drama, the way he changes face just perfect he is unique among all, so cute. all his drame are just awesome

Phenomenal acting by Xu Kai and Zhou Dongyu. Their acting connects deeply with viewers' emotion and goes beyond that. You get so much from this drama. Truly a remarkable production! A big thank you to all the artists!
The production team did a really good job. The director /script writer did a really good job telling the story. It was not boring and with enough suspense to keep you watching. The costumes are beautiful. CGI were good. The whole cast were very good in terms of visual and acting. Xukai again never failed in the visual and acting department. Especially his crying scene will break your heart. Overall, it's a good production and worth watching.

Hands down one of the best xianxia dramas i have ever seen. I admit i wasn't expecting much at first but wow did this drama go beyond my expectations. Bravo to the cast and crew, what an absolutely beautiful experience this drama was.
For anyone looking for a similar drama, there are many xianxia dramas like this, but the one most similar is probably Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms aka Eternal Love (also worth noting it's my favourite c drama of all time hence how much i loved ALP).
I love this drama! Fell in love with Xu Kai’s acting and have watched all of his dramas! He is an amazing actor. I really love the storyline between Bai Jue and Shang Gu. He love Shang Gu to the point nothing else matters beside her being safe even if she misunderstood him. He had planned everything for 60 thousand years. He just never knew Wu Huan would be that evil and powerful to the point where he had to silently wait for his powers to recover to fight her. He had to endured them hurting Houchi and Shang gu and not being able to watch his son grow up. I can fully understand why he did what he did after watching the whole drama.

千古絕塵剛出的時候我看了前8集就棄劇了，主要是看到雜毛鳳凰的戲太多了，最近看到上古打天后巴掌的cut覺得很爽才重新看，中間真的看不下去，快進很多，到41集開始被周冬雨的哭戲驚呆了，陪著哭，看到最後覺得還是圓滿了，太好了

Best Wrapped up drama ever in terms of tying lose ends. Most dramas can learn from this! Although I feel we did not get to see Shangu and Bai Jue in love and actually be together- this entire story was beautifully made. Most dramas are rushed towards the end and leave you with so many questions. This drama tied up everyone's story so beautifully.
Try Love & Redemption. You may like it.

The ending is always rushed. I would have loved to see their married life and them having more children.
That aside, the last drama I watched so fast was LaR. This was good. I got TMoPB vibes. I loved Gu Jun, Tianqi, Hongri, Zihan and the gossipers in Qingchi. They made my day. Yuanqi was as adorable as Qingmu. Not forgetting Wu Huan. She rocked the white hair and the villainess role.
I hope to see more of Lai Yi and Lu Xueyi. They've become my favorite actors. I thought Xu Kai was adorable in the Legends but him as Qingmu knocked it out of the park. I will miss the characters so much. Y'all did a great job. Even though I'm unsatisfied with the ending, the drama was pretty great.

I agree with you. I’ve never cried this much for a drama. The acting was superb and all the actors/actresses really made you feel the emotions from the way they talked, their eyes and their gestures. I started out with Miss the Dragon, then went on to loving Love and Redemption, then Ashes of Love, now this. I’m so glad I gave it a chance because I would’ve missed out on an amazing series. I cried so much watching this, one episode onto the next, feeling the hurt with them and what they both went through to be together. I think this tops Love and Redemption… and I love L&R SO much. Thank you for the wonderful story and to all the directors/producers and actors and actresses!

This was just wonderful. I have seen Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai in other dramas and they were so good in this. Zhou Dongyu's character evolved so much and she played her part with such honest depth and emotion. Liu Xue Yi is such a fine actor. I have seen him in several dramas and he always gives such a great performance. There were so many characters to enjoy. Thank you for this drama.

I've done watching this drama for the 2nd time now. Very emotional rollercoaster. Xukai's acting is really best of the best. His honey-like eyes really beautiful and he really knows his strength and display emotion so well. For Dongyou, I feel like her eyes lack emotion and yess after watching for the 2nd time I think she's good. She might not be our usual beautiful cute and naive FL that we used to watch but the more we look at her, the more pretty she becomes. ♡ I hope for season 2 pls 🤧🤧😍😍

Cont, the love between Bai Jue and Shanggu was so pure and true. It's the kind of love most people don't get to experience. I cry everytime I watch especially the ending. That's what just happened, I was crying so hard I had to dry my tears and messed up the texting. This was such an underrated drama and yet it's one of the best I've ever seen or read about. I spent most of my life reading books, I was not a T V person so I listened to a lot of classical music and jazz, and read tons of books. I still read a lot but since I watched my first Chinese drama I've been hooked. So I will stay awake for days just watching a drama. It's not so easy to do at 70yrs. But once you start watching these amazing dramas unfold before your eyes you'll never watch anything but. I don't think I've watched anything put out by Hollywood in years. I don't care for the vulgar language nor the nudity or sex. I think that it's gotten to be the norm in films but still isn't in real life. So I've not been tempted to watch anything since the Jurassic park series of films came out. I am even trying to learn Chinese do I can watch without subtitles. I really wish to Thank all involved in bringing Ancient Love Poetry to the screen. It's beautifully done and heartbreakingly sincere. The cast, crew and actors all did a wonderful job. i have watched this drama many time and i have never get tired of it view. frankly speaking xukai is my favorite actor in the whole wold, just happen to like him also all his drame, publicities and everything he does. before despite watching several drama i never had the favorite actor. he has such a charismatic aura and an amazing acting skills, he's good at all types of drama, the way he changes face just perfect he is unique among all, so cute. all his drame are just awesome
