Having customs guys come onboard is normal in many countries, I used to offer a cup of tea and home baked cake before they ask for anything and we found they never asked. Yes I would make cake especially if I knew it was coming up and sometimes it was a real pain, but they liked to try something from a different culture.

Swell was big but luckily downwind so definitely not the worst sail we’ve done, so crazy how much that can change how the Passage feels! the overnight passage prior was definitely worse for a few hours of it anyway 😅 Thanks so much! Hahah yeah we will 🤣🤣 and we’ll be able to zip up the sprayhood window, we won’t know ourselves lol! It really does doesn’t it! Makes such a difference! Where are you sailing?

Hey Wayne 😄 Thankyou 🙌🏼 yeah of course, forget to mention that sometimes. The marina was the equivalent of $530 AUD for the month including power and water, facilities. I think I actually do have some video’s talking about prices from the markets coming up in the next video or two 😄 so stay tuned for that But will try to keep doing this with places for sure. Yeah we actually do use that, this guy talked some English but our friend James was just playing around 🤣 we just use google translate which is free and it’s great! Only thing is you gotta internet for it and it was our first night so we didn’t have a SIM card yet 😅 that’s always the hard part when you first arrive in a country ahah
Hey hey! Funny you mention that! We ended up getting new Battons as you’ll prob see in an episode soon, however we’ve already lost one again in real time! The Velcro had lost its sticking power so they just fall out. The guys who repaired our sails said they put a hole and some stitching in the batton’s to hold it into the slot but looks like they haven’t! We’ve just managed to save the second one about an hour ago 😅and noticed no hole in it, so we’re very confused now 😬 So guess we’re up for another new Batton 😏 Thankyou!!! Kangaroo flag is sadly already starting to shred but it’s been so great to meet loads of Aussie’s this year with it flying loud and proud 🦘

Heya!! Long time no speak! Haha we have no idea yet as we have possible plans to cross but haven’t decided 💯 yet! I know marina di Ragusa in Sicily is very popular, as is Porto Montenegro but that’s prob gone up in price ALOT now as it’s pretty fancy but did a good deal for the first year or two of opening for winter Tunisia is great for a cheap place especially if you wanna get work done on the boat, I guess similar to the old turkey prices Thanks, glad you enjoyed 😄🙌🏼
I tried that! Haha someone suggested it but it didn’t help 😮 I think any movement just throws out the scales even if it gimbles it unfortunately. I did think about measuring out little bags of the right ammount of flour Atleast while on the dock 😅
Yeah it is possible but to get a good result you need to measure as cups and grams can widely change for flour unfortunately, all the recipes are like please don’t do it hahah

Not nice sleeping transversally on a boat. not only that the space is limited at the bow....if there is an aft cabin it will be much more comfortable. On long stretches a sound sleep is important timed watches.
Yeah we do have an aft cabin but usually a bit of stuff is stored in there if we don’t have someone staying aboard, we should probably just move it and make the bed in there for passages 😄

Unfortunately it’s part of the check in process to have police/customs board the boat so there was no getting out of that one 😏 of course we didn’t have to give them a gift/bribe. They didn’t actually ask us but had the cheek to ask our friends a week prior when they checked in. I guess if you don’t give them something they potentially just make things harder and pull the whole boat apart whereas once we have them some chocolate they literally just left straight away
