Thanks for the videos I recently graduated metallurgical engineering and your videos have helped me through one of the toughest courses in metallurgy (Mechanical metallurgy). They are bom!!!! Now for the questions Lol. 1. The 100lb force we used initially to find the reactions at point B, why is not not included in the reactions at point A. wont it still have an effect on point A since A and B are connected by the one member?? 2.Wont the 300 ft.lb moment cause bending along the z axis for patch 1, similarly wont the 1500ft.lb moment cause bending along the x axis for patch 2??? thanks once more.
I get confused in this lecture with the absence of transverse shear in the patch number 1. Why don't we account for transverse shearing stress in the patch 1 even though ve have bending moment (Mbz)?
