    i honestly usually hate "house zoo" videos cause the care takers usually don't know how to take care of the animals or they just 'collect' them and only see them as possessions. BUT i was really happy with this one! you seemed to know what you were doing, you didn't have a bunch just EVERYWHERE and you had well sized cages and living spaces for them. GO YOU! ^u^ i'm happy there is good pet care takers out there that do their research.

    I actually started a petition for Walmart to stop selling fish cause of the terrible conditions. :p

    • @deevuh453
      @deevuh453 8 років тому +19

      Yes! I absolutely love animals and hate to see them in "un-proper"-if you will, condition. I complained to my local PetSmart to give their hamsters proper care and luckily, they were kind enough to separate the hamsters, by their breeds and separate the breeds by their genders. Now there are only three hamsters of the same breed/gender in each tank which-also (luckily) was changed from a small 5-10 gallon to a 20 gallon wide. And the hamsters have proper wheels, food etc. I am very happy to see the hamsters happy and I notice they are less stressed and living overall better. (I hope to see them give proper care to all their animals.) Good luck and have a great day/night!

      DreamImpossibleThings all wild animals even if bred in captivity get depressed people need to stop buying them full stop

    • @elurrra
      @elurrra 8 років тому +1

      ariel piss That's never gonna happen. Yes all animals will get depressed. But that's why we get them to make them happyZ I have two cats and four dogs and they are my everything (I also have a betta in a 3.5 gallon with heater and filter) All of my animals are happy 99% of the time. They only get sad when they have to get the hair cut or go to the vet xD They also get sad if one of them passes away. I use to only have 3 dogs until my dog toodles died from a tumor and kidney failure. My dog daizy was sad for a while but we had a rescue dog named Charlie which was beaten and was scared of all males and now she is the most amazing dog you'll ever meet she is so kind and is not scared of males now :3 but I got a dog named smokey 1 year after getting Charlie and they are best friends then a year later I got a dog named Max which was in a puppy mill and got saved by a friend (Was a breeding dog and wouldn't breed anymore) she reported the person and idk what happens after that.. Anyways sorry for the whole damn background kinda was no point but at whatever Lol

    In all honesty I clicked on this video expecting borderline animal abuse. I was being prejudice because you looked high maintenance and possibly like the type of personal to only adore but not care for animals. It's a personal thing for as to why I thought this. You seem like a gem though, beautiful inside and out. Very jealous of your freshwater tank and gecko. Cant wait until I can have a "zoo" as well and take proper care of them 😍😍😍

      +Deew420top everyone is judgmental. I'm only really judgemental to girls that look high maintenance because where I live (and usually) they tend to be the "mean girls" that everyone is drawn to despite having a poot personality. Even then though I try getting to know people and not making assumptions about them. Hence why I actually clicked on the video and watched it which gave me a better understanding of her.

      +kantrell brown that's not really an excuse. you should do a lot of research on a pet BEFORE you take it home. you should have it's proper set up before it comes home to you. no one is attacking her so they don't need to "lay off". No one should be offended by information. it's only help to improve the life of the animal. every living animal should be given the best life possible. all we're doing is helping her achieve that.

    There's always geckos in my house, they are by far the most civilized
    uninvited guests around. They are totally silent, hide in the attic and
    only go around looking for food when everyone is sleeping. If someone
    wakes up in the middle of the night and find them, instead of running in
    panic, they calmly retreat to their hideout, crawling a small section
    of the wall at a time. I can even get really close to them and they
    won't freak out. I don't touch them though, since they are not really
    pets but actually wild geckos who happen to live close.
    However, they are a little different from the one you have. They are a little smaller (but the adults can be quite big), the tail grow back and they change color to blend in the environment, not by the mood. They know how to change into a lot of colors btw, light gray, yellow, all the way to a very dark brown, and even patterns. Classy little fellows.

      Anything Crazy hahajjaj you are so funny

    • @st-pierre159
      @st-pierre159 7 років тому +3

      +Anything Crazy Just saying, wolves aren't supposed to be pets. They are wild animals, and shouldn't be pets, even though they are legal at some places. Many people think that wolves are like dogs, but they aren't. Wolves are wild animals who live in packs and eat deer. They live in forests and mountains, not in houses or backyards. No matter how tame they are, wolves shouldn't be caught to be pets. If you want to see a wolf care video, you aren't on the right channel. Very few people know how to take care of them, as they are not pets. Wolves aren't dogs. Dog care is easier. Wolves need a LOT of space, which means they can't live in houses or cages. They need to eat A LOT. In their natural habitat, wolves eat deer, small animals and even other canines. For the last time, they aren't pets.

    • @st-pierre159
      @st-pierre159 7 років тому +1

      +Anything Crazy Also, it is not surprising AT ALL that the wolf bites every time you touch it. It isn't a dog, it can't be trained like dogs. It can take months and months to train wild animals, even more to train wild animals that were caught. By catching a wolf from the wild, you're taking it away from its family, home, food, natural habitat and habits.

    hello, I own a Crested Gecko, and i was wondering about what you said about the color of skin changes when stressed and not stressed. So basically my crested gecko is somewhat a dark brown with a hint of yellow. and when we take her outside for a bit of natural heat, she turns darker brown and yellow. the only time she is ever pale is when she's asleep. Here is the thing, she is full grown and she still has her tail intact as well. so is it for sure the color changes determine her stress alert signals?

    Awesome video! If you ever come across wanting another reptile I would recommend a bearded dragon. Also a tank that size for a full grown adult crestie is a bit small. I had mine in a 12x12x18. Good luck!

    What do you do if you want to go on vacation? I'm debating about refilling my tank with fish after not having any for so many years because I have no idea how they would be taken care of if I'm gone for more than a week.

    Okay, you live in Texas but what part may i ask? I have a pet emergency, i have recently been unable to properly care for my beta fish due to my mental health and busy schedule and caring for a baby bird, i worry so much about him and have decided i should find him a better home. Would you be willing to take him? I live in North Texas and have found no one who will take him. He's a really pretty blue.

    Hi, I like your animal collection. A lot of time has been spent designing their enclosures. Just a word of advice though, watch out for the leopard bush fish or "ctenopoma" as it gets bigger (they get to around six inches) as it will most likely eat your smaller fish, particularly the cherry barbs.

    Hey! I also keep fish! We just downsized to only two tanks. I see most of your plants seem to be plastic. You should try putting live plants in! Not only do they look nicer and the fish like it but it becomes so much easier to clean. My tank is full of them and I only do water changes every few months and even that is only to avoid ammonium build up. You should look into it. BTW your pets are adorable!

    a lot of videos like this have hoarder like tendencies for animals, but you really take care of all of your pets and you can tell they're happy!! also, a 20 gallon tank for 4 hermit crabs is the bare minimum, hermit crabs need a LOT of room so it isn't too big for them !!

  • @darkloverose132
    @darkloverose132 8 років тому

    It's good to see that your keeping your crabs in a 20 gallon but I couldn't help but notice you don't have a lot of substrate. Hermit crabs use digging as a way to destress and molt so it's important to have a minimum of 5 inches of substrate (either coconut fiber or children's play sand).other then that the set up you have is amazing considering most pet stores tell people to just put them in critter keepers with gravel or calcium sand (which has been known to kill crabs)
