- This Swirled Hearts Cold Process Soap recipe is from Anne-Marie's first book, Soap Crafting. We're celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Soap Crafting by revisiting this swirly spin on Valentine's Day Soap!

This project is an advanced recipe, as it requires a good understanding of trace. The soap batter needs to be a consistency that holds its shape, but also allows for swirls. Our batter got slightly thick with this batch. It still turned out beautifully, but for the best swirly hearts we recommend pouring a little bit earlier!
To help keep trace thin, this soap is fragranced with Rosehip Jasmine Fragrance Oil. It's a Bramble Berry classic, with notes of jasmine, pink rose, and white musk.

How many ounces are each bar?
Where can I get a glass bowl like this? I also want to say thanks I have been watching for years. Soap making helps me cope with my mental illness.
Thank you! The bars are about 5 oz. :) The glass bowl is our 2 Quart Glass Mixing Bowl, that can be found here: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/tools-and-accessories/containers/2-quart-glass-mixing-bowl/IB000050.html
That soap looks like it’s fun to make. Also, where did you get that blouse?! I had sheets with a pattern similar to that on it 😂
*IF YOU SQUEEZE SOME AIR OUT OF THE CONDIMENT BOTTLE FIRST THEN PUT YOUR FINGER ON IT, YOU WONT GET THE “bloop” OF SOAP POPPING OUT.*
I was coming to say just this!

Where can I get one of those large glass measuring cup?
This was a kitchen aid 4 qt mixing bowl but we are not seeing that they still make them. You can use any 4 or 5 qt stainless steel or new glass bowl for your recipes.
Just wondering...no offense or hate or any of that only Love!! How do you answer the glass haters?
Thank you! We recommend glass, heat-resistant plastic, or stainless steel for mixing lye. Do not use tin or aluminum. It reacts with the sodium hydroxide and produces harmful fumes. A few makers have mentioned that their glass containers cracked or broke while mixing the solution. We've use sturdy Pyrex containers for years and haven't experienced that. However, you can use heat-resistant plastic containers if you prefer.
