I watched this when I was like five and forgot what it was called, yet I remembered loving it and it killed me until I saw a review video on it last week. Let me tell you, one of the most pleasant feelings is remembering something you forgot a LONG time ago.
I (an Irish kid) grew up watching this movie. It scared me when I was younger. Intrigued me when I was older. I’ve seen the actual book of Kells before. It’s a real thing
I turned this on for my 3 year old ( I should have watched the trailer first) he told me he was too scared to watch but screamed at me when I tried to turn it off lol.
I remember watching this when I was around 7-8, gave me nightmares as a kid for some reason. Now that I look back at it, this movie is honestly very beautiful and deserves more recognition.
Many people in the comments are saying how this gave them nightmares, but I just remember watching it when I was 6, and I think it's one of the most beautiful 2D animated movies ever, along with 'Song of the Sea" which was made by the same studio Edit(09/10/21): I watched wolfwalkers when it first came out, it was fantastic!
Ye same! I first saw "Song of the sea" one knight when I was 6 while my mom was doing my hair. Maybe about a few months ago the song from the movie just popped into my head and I had no idea what the movie was called so I looked through my Amazon watch list to see if anything I saw anything that looked familiar and then I found "Song of the sea" and I remembered that that's where throne was from.😊and my mom was the one who suggested that I watch "Secret of Kells" because she said it was the type of movie that I would really like and I did! I loved it! 😊
same, my mum made us watch it and I half thought it was a dream, now it has been mentioned in my Irish textbook? idk my mum's using it to teach me Irish, but I really forgot it was a real thing
Creators are often daunted by the limitless possibility of animation, and when they're unable to wrap their heads around it they fall into routines and cliches. It's such a treat when somebody comes along and reminds us of the incredible things one can do if they set their mind free.
I had seen this trailer when i was around 9 or 10 and I remember being so moved and in awe. When I watched the movie I fell in love with it instantly. I can't wait till Wolfwalkers comes out
Everybody's saying they had nightmares after watching this when they were like 7 or something and here I am 15 and watched it yesterday and had a nightmare about it that night.😂
I absolutely loved this movie as a kid. I still do. I get why some people say it gave them nightmares, but in my opinion it’s a gorgeous movie and not scary at all, it’s actually quite a beautiful story.. plus a great soundtrack ngl
I can't believe how many people said this movie gave them nightmares! Also can't believe I've only found out about it now in 2021! It's outstanding, beautiful, mesmerising. Love it
It's a work of art and you literally go through the same things as the characters throughout the movie, just like you would in a book. I watched it when I was 14 and thought that the scene with the invading Vikings was quite creepy.
as a kid i loved this movie so much, it felt like a dream. I fell in love with the art style as how flowy it is. it's so beautiful, I'm so happy I found it again. I've been searching for a while.
Oh god I love this film so much from the music to the animation the art the story the everything ughhhhh. I'll probably never get to watch it again but it has a special place in my heart
I remember watching this as a child nearly fifteen years ago and forgot the title many years later. However, I stumbled upon a movie called “Song of the Sea” and I realized the animation looked so familiar, and boom I found this again after locating the studio. This movie brings me back. :)
I remember watching this movie at a sleepover with one of my friends when I was 9 I think , he really liked it and said it was super popular in Ireland where he’s from but I had never seen it before that point. I don’t think we even finished it because it scared me too much
I remember watching this with my grandpa as a kid,, I’m very happy this movie wasn’t just a weird made-up memory. I haven’t seen it in years, since my grandpa passed away. I’ll have to pick it up again.

My now 12 year old daughter was named Aisling because of this film! She goes by Ash mostly because few people know how to pronounce her name, but she can still sing "Pangur Ban" to this day! What a lovely animated movie

Gaslit myself into thinking I made this movie up until Wolfwalkers won an award live, I immediately recognized it! (I haven’t watched it yet but I’ve heard it’s good so maybe I will-if I can get past the trauma this movie gave me 😭)
I remember seeing the cover and being terrified for some reason as a kid. I literally searched up face surrounded by leaves trying to find this again 😂 Also most of the comments say they were also scared of this movie 🤔
