Thanks for your Post.... Good timing that I looked only several weeks after you've Posted.... I've wondered about that knot for awhile.... I have an old Ocean Earth leg rope that used to have the brass swivel stitched into the ankle strap and eventually pulled out, but I was able to allen key it in to the ankle strap of a brand new Creatures Of Leisure leg rope that broke on its' second use the very next day.... The rope snapping clean in half.... The nylon cord is fraying at the swivel and I was concerned about it's eventually breaking.... I wish to keep using the Ocean Earth leg rope which is more elastic than modern varieties and just keeps stretching out strong and true after 12 years of service.... Which must be some kind of record, is good for the environment and has been very kind on my pocket!
The Surf Rat . Holy shit you replied !!!! Brooooo 😆 sorry just a fan my china . Umm mainly not knowing exactly when to make the first turn. As well as when to stand up because I always end up standing too late and getting smashed. And maybe is there a technique to not be scared or should i just man the fuck up 😂 So stoked that you replied bro ! Shmaak your videos
@@Ethereal_BmZ yo dude what kinda size and shape we talking about here? Tubulation or just collapsing? What kinda board you riding? Are you regular or goofy?
Nice video! For the frayed rope issue, just use dyneema cords. They are incredibly strong and abrasion-resistant. I now use dyneema cords for tying to the leash plug, cutting away the built-in ropes of O&E leash for instance that can fail easily. I even use two loops for extra safety.
Great video. I wish fcs made replacement sections. The straps are generally fine so they should sell just the rope part. Undo the grommit with small alun key and insert new section. Job done !!!
Any idea what diameter rope you used? I think the hole on the end of mine might be narrower than yours and I want to double-check if it is, because I'm worried that a narrower rope might break easier
Hmmm not sure, just try find something that just fits through the hole. Another comment here mentions dynacord (i think) which is supposed to be strong. Boat/yachting stores will have quality rope too. Good luck!
nah, leashes round here cost at least $30, this repair cost me maybe....$1. It will take your time, which is worth something, but also keep some plastic in a useful state for a while longer
Man!! You saved my life! 3 legropes gone in 4days in the maldives. Thanks a lot and def let's reuse!
Nicely shown. Thank you for saying we ought not to just Chuck old trash when we can make it useful. So glad you are making videos again
Thanks bro
the best leggie repair ive seen
Awesome idea, especially with all the marine debris and it saves us 40 bucks, keep up the great videos!
I love the way you present stuff, especially the HD footage. Props my man

Exactly! I remember the same thing, older leggies that just never broke, only stretched...the best!
Awesome man! Really like all your vids.
Any chance you could do a video on how to start to surf bigger waves as a beginner.
Raegan Kramm yes can u please?
Hey Raegan, what do you think is holding you back?

Hey Surf Rat. When are we getting that 'Getting through Broken Waves' Vid? Frothin for that.
Id like to see that too;)
Surf Rat - Love the videos. Like the informative, action nature of it all. Keep shreddin'
Tanks Ba! Just made one good one outta two broke ones.
yuss!
Legend. I fixed one end then the next day the other end snapped. Now both ends are fixed it ain't even breaking unless in the middle.
Thankyou. That was pretty simple and effective! Good 🤙
Great Video! Just repaired 2 leashes. Lets see how they do.
Sweet, nicely done!
love your videos lad keep up the hard work!!!
Sick vid mate🤙
Thank you so much for great idea.
Great, thanks!
Oh damn, mine broke exactly in de middle ^^ I’ll try to figure out something with your knot thanks
Thank you !
Thanks mate. Saved the world 👏👏🏄🌊🙌
band on the run
WOW THANKS
Do you have a way to fix it, if the break is on the piece that connects do the cuff? That's where mine broke...
Hmmm nahh, that's annoying aye, might be a goner, or we petition the surf cos to make repairable gear!
Save the rest for when your next one breaks somewhere else and combine the two. Also the leftover velcro strap is good for organizing extension cords.
With FCS leashes this will have to be done A LOT. FCS, the most-broken surf leash in the world.
Brilliant thank you !
What size shrink-wrap is that? I have to order through tokopedia here.
And, yes, most of mine break off right on the ankle strap.
I just got some 40mm wide, but it looks a bit big, so maybe 30mm? It's gotta get over your knot. It's not that easy to find what I want here in NZ
superb!
Thanks man, mine is repair.
Awesomeness!

thas cool brother.
Chur Nandor! Keep up the good work!
thanks super cool
What if the leash broke from the ankle strap itself? The swivel pulled out from the velcro
yea sorry mate I've had that happen too, might be a gonner
Leg rope as in leash right?
yep
Thinking about all the legropes I've thrown away..
tell me about it!
Wouldnt it be cheaper just to buy a new leash?

My swivel is on the wrong end 😢
I had a seizure trying to read legrope
