Was listening to RTF first album then Wiki'd Joe Farrell and didn't realize he died so young at only 48. So many Musicians and Singers who have died young. Thanks for this True Rare Gem..!!
They're probably out there born probably from 1982-2002 ... Probably not signed to any label or corporation ... Or just imagine if they're are none ... Just imagine that .. No one ... Then that entire era existed in a magic time that even I born in 1969 ... Started playing drums in 1982 and my first Chick Corea experience was in 1985 with the Elektric Band ... Jazz was already getting burned although Allan Holdsworth ( Metal Fatigue 1985 / Road Games / I.O.U. were the warm up act ... Allan Jiimmy Johnson Chad had a infinite break from Frank Zappa with one more 4 or was it 6 ? month tour in 1988 with a disturbing story to go with that )
@@mikehirsh1896 I listen Corea and RTF abaut 50 y. I don't know what you and Gregory speak and why. I am 62 and play guitar 52 y. I like this musicionsand this kind of music, also Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Vai,and many more this . Even clasic like Betowen etc. Every music is for listening. Every for somebody.
Jazz musicians like Chic Corea and those featured in this video, hear music differently than the public does. Its not easy listening or dance music but technical playing mainly understood by other musicians. This is music for jazz people who can understand its complexities.
I feel like it speaks to whoever really listens. If you sit with this music, open your heart and mind, it will soothe any pains, lift any burdens. That's what I believe ✌💜
Though this might be called Chick’s most accessible period, and Spain the most pop-friendly tune, it’s wonderful to hear what he does in his solo stretch, pushing it out harmonically and rhythmically. Like a true artist, always on an edge.
Moment of true meetings of minds, at 31.20 ( Bmin-5 chord ) Chick plays the same phrase as Joe who can't whithold a little smile as he takes a quick breathe. Beautiful. What an instant report they had. What a fantastic group.
As a bass player, I am in awe of this playing by Stanley, the speed and articulation, and the composition on the fly skills, this is one class I would surely struggle with!
So perfect an movable. I have seen one incarnation of RTF around 2011 (not sure about the year), and this was probably the best concert I've ever seen.
Music flaws here like water, maybe that was his impresion and comment 😀
whoever edited the video thought that the listener would like the nature footage as much as the music, big mistake who cares about a day at the beach when we have these great musicians to listen to.

Chick Corea (in between many other Musical Greatness, Uniqueness, Pioneering and Atributes) : THE MASTER of Improvisational Keyboards, side by side with Duke Ellington. Here (young, 1972) HE is really swinging with Clark, Airto and Farrell (and Bill). They say it is easy to improvise on your own compositions...
Joe Farrell was one of the best jazz flutists ever.
And damn good on sax, I have him for sure the best combo wind player

Stanley Clarke's a beast on both electric and acoustic!
Stanley Clarke, OMG...!! Man is a Living Legend...!!!
I would challenge anybody in any field on earth. - science, math, athletics whatever.. to be as good at what they do as these guys are.

Take me back to 1972 goddamit
Oh lord, Stanley is possessed on the crystal silence intro.

Fantastic group of players!
Pure gold ...Thank you!
I never got to see this initial RTF lineup… My favorite….wish Flora was here!
For a moment I thought it was John Belushi on the flute.
There's no way to snort coke and play the flute at the same time so it can't be him.
Amazing audio and video quality of a legendary version of RTF /time in music! Thank you for posting this rare gem!
Absolutely love these albums with Joe Ferrel

Estos videos son una joya musical , gracias por subirlo.
and Music became human and this is what we got....... What a gift and what a beautiful thing it is!
Ah! An early incarnation. This RTF is quite distinct from the funk fusion band soon after. And how good is Clarke on acoustic double bass?
Clarke is excellent !!!
Grande Airto Moreira, detonando na bateria!
Wow! This is an incredible piece of footage! Amazing video and audio quality! Thank you!
No doubt, an excellent archive footage!🎥🎹

Me hizo reir , la mejor manera de evidenciar algo es el humor . Y ademas , esta pobre gente era sorda , no tenia oido
Amazing picture quality too!
Thanks
Great clip
Fantastic, if only this could be in studio type sound quality, but great all the same.

@@ZvonimirBucevicBuc i posted the time for the start of "500 miles" . One of my favorite groups. First two return to forever lps.
The description says that the first song is Spain but I’m pretty sure it’s actually Sometime Ago.
3:45 definitely spain
Spain clearly!!!!
at 5:06 Chick quotes Sometime Ago, but it's definitely Spain!
Spain..

it fits the emotion though, i enjoy it
The bird flying across the lake is the cover of their first album.
It's used by the editors to maintain continuity with the soundtrack--other images would be edited in later. It's like Greeking.
What? You took the time to be emotional over nothing.. I'm surprised you can even handle music this great with such a worrysome brain
