he walks onto that stage with the exact trepidatious gait as a four-year-old walking into the living room at 9:42PM while his parents are drinking wine with their friends
@@kathrynorozco5416I think that's what makes it so chilling. Ken's so high on his victory after the conference that he almost seems proud when he says it. He feels dangerous
I think his cringey moments are either the most mortifying thing i’ve ever witnessed (usually when he’s overcompensating or trying to be something he’s painfully not) or so earnest they’re oddly endearing
the breaking cotton swabs is so real and heartbreaking to me bc i've been given that coping skill by therapists to deal with anger and seeing him trying to work through it and then just falling apart into the anger feels so relatable
The way he hides his insecurities under a mask of tech bro culture and false confidence is why he's an amazing character. The very first scene introduced him perfectly. The show opened with him looking like someone ready to take on the world, loudly singing along to Beastie Boys Letter to NYC. It's sharp cut to him shyly muttering the lyrics under his breath is so funny. Perfectly shows the contrast between the outward Kendall that he wants others to see him as and the reality of what he is underneath, a sad broken rich kid
Jeremy Stong's performance mesmerises me. Every word, gesture , expression is masterful. A fine actor (I first saw him in Parklands as Lee Oswald and knew he was on a trajectory of greatness)
Never seen a character tiptoe between pure power and cringe so easily, one episode hes delivering some of the most bone chilling power moves speechs in national tv and the next he wants to crucify himself on his birthday as a "message" while singing Billy Joel
The most relatable character to me. He had the talent, and I believe Logan always knew that he had the talent, but so broken. By his upbringing and his own vices. Logan's smirks during Kendall's statement in the season 2 finale- He manipulated Kendall into that, when he told him that he wasn't "a killer". He knew that Kendall would always do anything to prove that he could overcome his father's doubts. Chilling.
I think Kendall caught him off-guard with that one. He later called it a “decent move” when he was telling ken to back down. I think the “killer” move that Logan was hoping ken would go for was throwing Tom under the bus at the press conference.
He's fantastic, I love Kenny with a passion. Unfortunately while he's deeply complex and just one of the best characters I've ever seen, he isn't visually striking and 60% of the time his personality and delivery is quite subtle too so its gonna take a while to ppl to get interested in him or succession let alone. The story ends tonight and still kind of niche?
@@Inbraneinthememsanedude he was MILES better than Logan, who's more of a mythic figure than an actual character (despite how wonderful Brian Cox was in the role). Ken's a lot deeper than Tom, but I can't really argue that he's THAT much better than Roman. The best character on the show for sure but Rome's a very close second
Bro. From 7:40-8:25 Ken f*cking EVISCERATES Logan so hard he literally almost kills him. He pops off so hard that even THE Logan middle name F*ck Off Roy is like “okay okay damn bro let’s just do this deal sheeesh” All jokes aside though, Kendall really “out-Logan-ed” Logan in this scene.. his approach is different sure, being decidedly more verbally aggressive than Logan. Think about that for a second lol. When Kenny boy goes off, there is no mercy and nobody is safe from the shrapnel (see the family therapy episode in season 1 for more) To be clear, I’m not advocating for, defending or cheering on this behavior, but what I AM saying is it’s immensely entertaining👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Season 2 was the best of all. Kendall's sensible and badass arc, The Cruise Ships scandal, The arrive of the Pierces, Hunting episode, Shutting down Vaulter and that season finale. Just a masterpiece.
Damn I really wish this was made after Living+ there is so much gold in that episode. One of the best Ken episodes in a while and one of the best of all time.
His temper tantrum in the bathroom is my personal favorite, I remember screaming w laughter when he started ripping up their qtips, he was such a petty little shit, he did clean up his mess tho I'll give him that lmao
Gotta be honest, and some may feel the show sets up the viewer for this, but I am rooting for Ken to have some type of success or happiness or fulfillment. Typing this after living+ presentation and I’m worried. I love Ken and I think we all see some of the imposter syndrome we have manifest in him, along with our fears and anxieties of if we are good enough or loved…. I just want Ken to find whatever he’s looking for, but I’m worried he doesn’t even know.
Agreed. He’s the only one out of that family whose good but deeply flawed. He actually has a conscious. He cared that he killed that boy while no one else cared that he accidentally got the waiter killed. The waiter indirectly killer himself while Ken was high so I don’t really consider him a “murderer” since he tried to save that boy many times
Pains me to see these clips after rooting for him all these years since the pilot episode. I still give props to the writers for not giving us a happy ending which I do prefer
I loooove him so much. Character of all time. I can't believe I'm never seeing him again after tomorrow 😭😭😭 I am killing myself in front of Jesse Armstrong.

thank you for this comment fr
I’m crying laughing you got it so right. When he’s in panic mode, he just looks like a lost child looking for parents 😂
I gotta say, it’s been great watching Kendall both grow so much and stay the same. Truly an incredible character
You’re too online. You’ve lost perspective.
It's just optics
He's an icon, he's a legend and he IS the moment.

one of the greatest moments in TV history to be honest.
My favorite Kendall scenes are the ones where he does something so cringe you can see in Logan's eyes when his love for him shrinks, in real time

Lmao
him rapping in the car in season 1 DEFINITELY made me think that
He is that's why he so smart and that's why his father has faith in him
his son is so it would not surprise me
He’s not. He’s got trauma…direct correlation, sadly. Many people with CPTSD become very socially disconnected. This is the aftermath of abuse.
