Fantastic! Getting the washing machine was a real highlight 😅 The 10k PB was the icing on the cake 😁👍🏻
Thanks Mark, you've got to re-shuffle priorities when you're moving house 😅
Big congratulations on the beautiful new washing machine and the fantastic new PB, Chloe! That's the classic two-part race plan: Go to the race, and see what happens.😄I wonder if the 5k races you've run plus the fast Madrid 10k have helped your leg speed. A big difference between running and something like cycling is that our feet don't follow the same path all the time and have to move differently when we run faster. There's no doubt that you've been continually improving your fitness base but maybe you've gotten more comfortable at quicker paces lately. Whatever the difference-maker, that's a super result but honestly not a huge surprise to me. Well done!
Thanks Eddie! Not quite sure where this surge of fitness comes from but I hope it's here to stay 😅 You're probably right, racing shorter distances in the past couple months would have helped, and I also seem to do better when it's not an A race, maybe I need to be more relaxed which is not in my DNA haha
@@ChloeHamard You hear stories about student athletes who cut back on their training during final exams or some other tough period and have breakthrough runs soon afterwards. I read it a long time ago but there might be one like that about Sebastian Coe in the book that his father wrote. I'm sure it helps to let our legs recover a bit from the specific stresses of running although it's tough to intentionally do that. Who knows, moving house as cross-training might be the next big thing. Stress is stress as they say, and that's as stressful as anything. But I remember seeing a result of yours around this time last year and observing that you were a minute and change away from 38:30, the qualifying time for the Night of the 10k PB's. And you've smashed that now!
That was some serious cross training for sure, lifting boxes upstairs and don't get me started on the flat pack furniture 😅
👏
Wowwwww fantastic, especially given how unexpected it was! Really well done, amazing to take off that many seconds from an already awesome previous PB!!
Thank you Kathryn! Surprise PBs are the best ones aren't they! I still can't believe I pulled this off haha
Fantastic Running after such a big life change. Well done on a cracking time and 5th overall. Chapeau!
Thanks Neil! Yes we were both really pleased, Ben did well to finish 5th in this field
A Quality 10k time and looked a stacked field. Looked quite tight at the start to get moving but well done overall on the PB 🥳🥳
Thank you! Strong field indeed! Can’t complain with a PB ☺️
You're an amazing runner Chloe!
Thank you so much!
Huge congrats well done, hope you are starting to feel more settled 🙂
Thank you! I do feel more settled here now thankfully
Congrats, to your new PR 40 seconds thats a lot of improvement. This despite all the moving and getting ready in the new place.
Will you too be trying to snatch the Win next year from the power coupleM
Thank you, I didn't expect this at all, if only my 5k progress was on the same trajectory haha. Ben could win but I'd have such a long way to go, this event attracts speedy women and this year nobody had a chance against Calli the future Olympian lol
Chloe this is fantastic news. when you were saying the other week you didnt know how you would ever break that 38:30 and you just did it.
Thanks Bradley, it was such a surprise!
I often find PBs pop up at the most unexpected times. There's definitely something to be said for going into something with fewer expectations.
Very true, it happened to me several times and it's even nicer when it's unexpected. Thank you for watching!
congratulations. washing machine looks magnificent
😅😅 cheers
Brillaint. Bet youre glad you dragged yourself out of bed to get there. Another rewrite of the year's targets beckons.
Thanks guys, definitely glad we decided to race!
