Getting ready for my big move to Texas. Watching this made me even more excited. Thanks!!
That is great! Drive safe as stuff shifts around.
I just finished driving this same truck from Nashua, New Hampshire to Little Rock, Arkansas. The only difference I can see is the cigarette type plug-ins were a little different and my truck had 116,000 miles on it. It was out of alignment, pulling to the right a bit, but otherwise it drove great and was a pretty comfortable ride. To keep with traffic, I drove 75-85 mph most of the way. I wish it had a little more power when going up sharp grades, but it was a trooper and went the distance without a hitch. I'm so glad they don't have governors on them any longer. I don't know the engine size of my truck either, but I read an article that said they were equipped with the F650 6.8L V10 engine. But that article (written in 2019) said that they were going to replace them with a 7.3L V8 engine. With the truck completely full, I averaged about 7.8 miles per gallon, having to refill about every 275 miles. I didn't check the mileage before loading it, but the truck's computer said it was only averaging 8.8 miles per gallon when empty. It was clean and they provided plenty of blankets for the move.
Thanks for your review. I am glad you got there safe. I agree on the comfortable ride. I will go with U-haul again if we ever need one. Love driving and trying out the trucks.
@@EnthusiastCarHangar I really liked your video. Anyone planning to rent this truck would be wise to watch it. I wish I had before the trip. I highly recommend U-Haul and will use them again too.......if need be.
Another thing I noticed was the front cab was not roomy. There's little space behind the seats and on the floor to put stuff. But there's room for a cooler and a small bag or two, but that's about it. Suitcases and other stuff need to go in the back. Also the floorboard got pretty hot and melted the cooler ice quicker than usual. I recommend putting the cooler on the passenger seat or in the middle (I guess it's a seat, but realistically for a younger-shorter person. Oh, and the air conditioner worked great and blew ice cold. Also, I would make sure both side mirrors are right where they need to be to give the driver the maximum view of traffic on either side. They have to be adjusted manually and aren't easy to move, but they will adjust with some effort.
Those V10s were made for work. 8mpg empty and 8mpg full. But like you said, you kept up with traffic.
I'm also pretty surprised that those Ford E450's can pull that much weight while being old. The truck you showed in the video was a 2011 Ford E450.
I like the review and the hidden humor. Not a blown out of context review like most.
Thanks
Theres no holes to attack ropes or binders to secure furniture on the sides?
@sylvainh2o you attach your straps to the boards on the sidewall by looping them around. There are some videos out just about that by other UA-camrs.
Good to k ow the food and the bad of a uhal. Thanks!
Great video dude!
Thank you!
Nice little hole in the roof I see after the 3:00 minute mark!! Thinking of renting this same size truck. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you I appreciate it.
Nice!
Thank you!
Engine size is 6.8L V10 ("Triton"), not the 6.2L V8 you annotated at 6:33... You can see clearly "6.8L" on the emissions sticker under the hood at 6:04 in your video. Thanks for putting up the review.
Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
That looks good
Thanks for watching!
Would these work for a 3 bedroom home? We threw away our couches and my daughter just has clothes. Only packing 1 bed 1 dresser. Scared it’s not all going to fit
I am not sure but if you don’t take more beds and couches it should be ok. You can put some boxes above the cab as well so there is a lot of storage. Uhaul also rents out trailers to pull behind them if need be. Or has a size up truck you can rent.
Just rented a 20 ft U-haul truck with the gas guzzling 6.8L Triton V10. Not too bad. Driving from Virginia to South Texas. No cruise control on my truck. Not good for long, cross country trips.
I agree cruise control should always come with a truck. Thanks for watching.
Making the same move myself, northern Virginia to southwest TX.
@@richardofredemption good luck and welcome to Texas. My U-Haul moving truck got 10 mpg. So be prepared!!
@frankaxiak1959 Did you max it out at 55 like they tell you to? 😀
@@EnthusiastCarHangar I kept my truck in the right lane with the big rigs so kept my speed between 55-65 mpg.
I rented a uhaul Beginning of april and when I first got the truck it had mud all over the outside. Trash all inside of glovebox and leaves and rope pieces on the bed of the truck.
That is bad. I hope you reported it.
Was this enough for two people in a 2 bedroom house 2k sqft home? We are not hoarders either so I don't think the 26' is needed
I think it would be tight but it depends on your furniture. Bedrooms, kitchen tables or a living room would take a lot of room.
Can u review the uhaul 26 ft truck and the Chevy 1500 they have for rental?
If I get the chance I sure will.
@@EnthusiastCarHangar awesome thanks
I need to tow my trailer but it has a 2 5/16" ball reciever. Any ideas on how to do it?
I am not sure but maybe someone else knows.
do uhaul trucks make a loud beeping noise when reversing?
Not all do. So not sure.
Renting trucks is always fun lol. I do prefer Penske because their trucks are a lot better usually.
Never tried Penske but will one time.
Penske is much more expensive too!
Will this really work for a two bedroom home?
Depends on your home but I would say yes it works if you load it right.
How come you couldn't show us the ramp?
I filmed this in between mowing with my phone and didn't want to pull it out one handed. I probably should have. Thanks for watching.
It's a Town Car transporter 😃
Believe it or not it was fun to drive. 😎
@@EnthusiastCarHangar I know. You feel very powerful driving these things
What is the gvwr of this vehicle?
Honestly I don’t know but I see if I can find out. Thank you for watching.
@@EnthusiastCarHangar thank you
14500
5.4 liter
Do you have to stop at weigh stations?
Depends on the state. In Utah you don’t have to stop.
does the kids allow to ride in the truck?
Only in the front seats.
@Enthusiast Car Hangar
Just put the front seats in the back like a true wize guy 🙌
I knew this was Utah. But what county?
It was filmed in Box Elder county.
@@EnthusiastCarHangar heyy! I’m in utah county.
That’s great!
She's a 6.2
need a dime for scale
Thanks for watching!
