- Lost but not forgotten. A lot happened this year, new products, new partnerships, even new grass on the lawn. It was a fun one but also very different than many other years before. 2023 for me was a lot less work than I've ever experienced and I'm not sure if I really liked it. I have a lot in store for 2024, potential changes to the shapes and grasses that are located on my property. As well as a multitude of new products hitting the market.
If you haven't been to the Greene County fertilizer website recently, you may have missed some of the things that are coming out for 2024. As with this video, you can see that I've been doing more and more testing with granular fertilizer. There is a very unique entry coming that will be announced within the next two weeks and made available for the 2024 season as well.
It was definitely a major difference in the amount of water that was used on my lawn this year as well, that you were Green system functions incredibly well and definitely cut down my water bill. For those of you who are still on the fence about it, here's a link allowing for extra discounts. If you are in fact in the market for a new system, I highly recommend it. I will get deeper into some information about that sprinkler system in a very detailed video soon.

Now that the heat has broken I’m doing weekly applications of the micronutrients, humic,air8, RGS and kelp. The last firt app is down for a while. A end of the season weed control with image and prodiamine. The change in just over a year has been amazing, the neighbors want to know if I reseeded or put down sod.
I’m hoping that all my green county products will last until next year, I bought to much. But it sure works well.

my last app(three-ish weeks ago, just after Halloween) is basically "anything/everything I might have left in the garage" and always try to get everything out and in the soil where it might do 'something' instead of in bags on the garage floor sitting all winter...likely not the most exact scientific approach, but this year it seems to have done 'okay' and I'm still mowing weekly if only to clean up neighbor leafs like I did today before rain-n-snow, still green in the cold but no growth
I shut down irrigation about a month ago and did my last feeding first week of October. I’ve got a small blanket of white, I think it will melt, I have to do one last fungicide app!
Good to see you back. My Bermuda still has not gone dormant in Phoenix yet but I will be starting up with the micronutrients once it has been a month without any applications of anything and I can do a clean soil sample for you heading into next year.

Well the most instructive thing from the video is that even experts dont always have THE answer or why something happens. I have tried not to overthink my lawn care. I have tried to follow best practice from a multitude of channels (including yours) and pick what seems to work with me. i have used and like the NE-XT line of liquid products. Mainly as soil amendments (RGS, AER 8, Micro Greene, Humic acid etc.). I still like granular fertilizers mainly because i hate dragging my hose for the liquid stuff and i am not going to pay $250-350 for a cantankerous backpack sprayer that will likely only work for 1 season if that. I think i can get a very good spread using my Echo R60 after ditching my cheap Scotts spreader. Happy Holidays!
Perhaps one day I’ll invest in a nice spreader, but I don’t know when that will happen.before I started leaning out the lawn to prep for that granular app, I was very happy with the injection. One thing I know now, don’t max out the fertigation to try to empty it in one sprinkler rotation 😂

Glad you do these experiments. The variance of colors, thickness and heights would drive me crazy. Anytime I see patterns on my lawn that aren't consistent I immediately try to fix. I know its for content so makes sense. Happy Holidays Bud.
I can’t say I was overjoyed with a checker board for the latter half of the season but it gave me info I needed.
John, ypur grass looks great . I can't help but notice the sprinkler. It seems to be a very heavy spray which probably puts down water faster than the soil can absorb. If they had a finer spray pattern I could see purchasing. I like how precise they are but volume is heavy.
The system actually performed outstanding. It is heavy droplets which concerned me at first but after seeing it in action, there’s no runoff and the cycling of the sprinkler allows for good leather penetration before coming around again. The striping was due to pumping out all my fertigation tank in 5 minutes.
Been a long time miss watching your content. Have a mixed bag of results with some tests this fall too. Going to run your stuff reversed to see how things come out next year. Happy holidays
