The chunkiness of the hardanger on 22ct is what has always kept me from trying it. I simply didn't like the chunky-look for anything smaller than a banquet tablecloth. I love the delicate lace look that you've done on the 34+ ct linen. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!!
I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot!!! I’ve been wanting to explore more hardanger and I’ve searched it before and not a whole lot of videos on it other than Victoria Samplers. And I decided to search again and found you! I adore hardanger- all things and so happy you addressed the type and count of cloth “required.” I am currently attempting a kit and it certainly uses a 28ct cashel and I just completed a sampler that had a couple lines of it on 32ct linen. I cannot wait to devour the information in your videos and purchase your books!

I have just found your You Tube videos, thanks to Arlene Cohen. I have been doing Hardanger for many years and I use 22 count because I taught myself and I didn't know any better, but my stuff looks good and I don't enter competitions. It is good to have found an expert now.
Hi I am new to your channel! I was wondering if you could change the order of your floss tube playlist so UA-cam will automatically play the entire list in order. Can’t wait to watch your videos I’m so excited about whitework!!!!
Yvette Stanton it could be showing up differently on my interface or it may be in the order you intended. On my app the playlist has the most recent at the top of the list, playlists will automatically start the next video down the list once the current video finishes playing. So from my app when I play video 5 it goes into video 4 next, and then 3,2,1, basically it plays in descending order top down. If this is how it plays from your app as well and this is not what you intended, I think the fastest way to change it will be to start a new playlist and re-add each video from the old list. But I also hear you are very busy right now and it’s not that big of a deal! So don’t worry about it!
I think biscornu are really cute and that one is gorgeous. However, I have never made one because I don’t know what to do with one. I’ve already made a needle book / pincushion!
I have lots of biscornus now, and still don't have anything to do with them, but admire and enjoy them. I have many needlebooks too, and most of them get used.

Have you or another stitcher illustrated your point regarding Hardanger’s potential degree of fineness historically by producing a simple design or range of identical stitches but completed on ground fabrics of varying weave counts? This might show what you described as “chunky” on a 22-count as opposed to a 32-count, 36, or 40.
No, I haven't. Mostly because I don't like stitching anything more than once, and I don't want to have to stitch that large! :-) If I was going to stitch it again, I'd rather head towards the smaller end, on the finest fabric I can find, because I personally feel the more lacy it is, the more beautiful it is.
Thanks Gillian. Talking to the camera is much, much easier for me than trying to stitch and keep things in focus on screen and in the camera view. For people to be able to see what I'm doing, my video skills might need to be a lot better than they currently are... I can at least work towards improving, though.
I think whoever did the closed captioning (cc) did a very good job. I tend to put it on to better understand what is being said. Sometimes, whoever is doing the cc has no concept of what is being taught. This time, I only noticed a few times when the wrong word was written (a word different from what was being said). A very good first video; just a couple times was something too close or too far from the camera.
I'm only starting out with Hardanger and the only reason I'm using a 22 ct Hardanger fabric is because of my eyesight and a magnifying lamp won't go with my glasses.
