My husband’s pancreatic cancer has spread from his liver & thyroid into his bone. He is unable to embrace me to give comfort and support. Songs such as this enable me to hold him, to find the strength to begin the process of letting go of the man I’ve loved for over 52 years. I am not a heavy metal fan, but I MUST be a Dan Vasc fan - this music sustains me, even though it’s bittersweet. The pain won’t be going away…

I really love this version. One of my favorite Dan's covers. I love how he starts low, takes us higher, up high for a bit, lower, higher, higher, down low for a break, and up high again... All of it with a lot of emotion. Just perfect, even better than the original.

I have grandsons his age, who have children of their own. It's really strange, though, that I have one grandson (who's 19 right now), who actually LOOKS like Dan! A lot of our friends who also listen to Dan's music, say the same thing. My husband, one evening, walked behind me when I was watching Dan sing, and asked me how did Ethan get on TV...then he stopped, and said, "Oh! That's not him, is it?!" I had TRIED to tell him, but he hadn't paid attention. 😀
