Bathtub shower diverter problem (can't pull up)

Unscrew that plastic part that has to be lifted (0:16), plus the metal part below.

How did you force the black washer on the screw to fit in the hole?

At 0:57? That's a flexible rubber ring.

Hi, do all the valves unscrew at the top. I have the same issue as you but can't even get the valve out of the tap
