I was always enraged by the many facets of the Cosby scandal, but the aspect of it that angered me the most was the fact that some of these allegations went back DECADES, the female victims were not taken seriously. Then, out of the blue, it took a male comedian making an offhand joke in a comedy club ONCE for the stories to finally come to light. He has since been released on a technicality, completely undermining the whole thing (provided that the allegations leveled against him are true). Was anyone else bothered by that, or is it just me?
It's astounding how many times Justin Timberlake has done openly terrible shit and it's the women who got treated like pariahs
it's honestly soured his music a bit for me especially songs about relationships and break ups where he's acting like he's somehow the hero in the situation when actually he was the asshole

Everyone would have forgotten about the "GI Jane" remark within seconds, but Will Smith ensures that everyone would remember it. And then we found out that Will and Jada had been separated for years.
I want to say for the people defending Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, a comedian, how sensitive are you towards jokes? That was the question I had for Harriyanna Hook when she talked about the situation as she said that she doesn't take comedians too seriously because they talk crap about other people to be funny, which is what a comedian does.

It’s been over 5 years since both “Surviving R. Kelly” and the R.Kelly Interview came out. Millions of people did watched them all. Dozens of people made their R. Kelly meme videos on social media and they all did a creative, decent job on their stuff.
Robert S. Kelly should’ve been a decent guy instead of being a defensive, controlling, abusive, perverted monster towards teenagers and 20-something-year-olds alike from the past.
In 2022, R. Kelly is sentenced to 30 years in prison.

I will never forgive Justin Timberlake for how he completely threw Janet Jackson to the wolves after the Super Bowl incident. He was equally involved, so he deserved the same amount of backlash. Collectively, we ALL owe Janet a huge apology.
I feel for Janet- truly. She was treated abhorrently while JT got off scot-free. And Michael... the press just did him so dirty- and to this day, they still are dragging his name through the mud. And just one correction- to refer to his accusers as "victims" would have to mean they were in fact abused. And this was never proven- in fact, the opposite. It's been proven that all accusers have lied for financial gain, a fact which casts serious doubt on their allegations. Also, no child ever accused Michael of sexual abuse- the ones who came forward with allegations were the parents/adults.

I think that everyone needs to stop bringing up past stuff that don't need to be brought. People make bad choices and mistakes but it doesn't mean the rest of us has to keep bringing it up. Time to let go of the past and focus on the future.

Britney’s conservatorship came up twice. She was in it for 13 years, and is still in the midst of a legal battle with her father for his wrongdoing. The major sexual abuse cases are still very relevant, both in their own context and for their wider impact. You can see Kanye’s escalation in bad behavior and descent from someone connected to the Black community to allying with the alt-right. Almost all of these stories are a lesson that the public should learn. “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” That also applies to pop culture, especially as there are some prominent themes of racism, sexism, sexual abuse, bigotry, and more, BECAUSE people refuse to learn from the past.
Absolutely not. Forgetting the past is repeting it. Many victims of SA and harassment wouldn't have gotten the justice they deserve if ppl stopped bringing up past stuff. Commiting violent crimes isn't just "bad choices". Perpetuating neon4zi narratives isn't just "bad choices". It's not like they're teenagers drinking and smoking pot. These are grown adults commiting horrendous crimes.
