eh heh, it feels so weird being on camera, but also really exciting!
We largely did this because of me. I really wish BBake and I would've recorded our reaction to the trailer that revealed Gore Magala and Espinas! I want to be able to see the look on our faces when they got revealed, so from now on we're going to record our reactions to these kinds of announcements so we can do just that: look back on it in the future and remember awesome new additions to MH are!
My reaction to the news: Sadge. I already knew it was Mizu based on the silhoutte and I was really really hoping that It'd be Thunderbubble Mizu from MHExplore. I am a bit disappointed in fire as Mizu is probably my favourite monster. But, on the bright side the gear and armour looks really good. I like what they did with the SnS and Bow in regards to Violet. I've hunted Mizu 100 times and I can't wait to hunt Violet 100 times.
Flaming Espinas is one that I am looking forward to. The defense down on fireballs instead of paralysis is much more of a threat. I really dislike how regular espinas doesn't punish you for getting paralyzed. The stomp is like the least damaging move, and if you are good enough, you can get out of the para before getting hit with the stomp. Or, he can completely miss you lol. Time to prep those adamant seeds as defense down is not a debuff you wanna take on. Especially when you gotta deal with -armour on qurio crafting and Mail of Hellfire.
Layered Weapons. I am glad they exist. Just means I can fashion hunt, while still using the meta weapons. I actually avoided using some meta weapons cause I just didn't like the look of them. Now that doesn't matter at all. And when it comes to the paid layered weapons I don't mind. Given that they give out more free content than any other game that can easily last you 1000+ hours its cool. You aren't forced to buy lost code, and honestly I feel like they price their cosmetics pretty well. Other games a single costume would be like 10 dollars or more.
Risen Chameleos is one I am looking forward to fighting. 5th gen makes me not hate the chameleos fight like I did in 4U and GU. He looks really cool and I like what they did with the new armour. That poison explosion looks deadly, and I wonder if that pink mist keeps your poisoned the entire time, or at the very least ticks down your HP. That'd be a really cool buff to him and one I welcome. Makes me excited to see Risen Teostra and Risen Kushala eventually. As this is what Powered-Up Monsters means.
Pretty much share the same sentiments as you. I was slightly disappointed to see violet Mizu is fire or blast, however, I know the fight will be extremely fun regardless as well as it’s gear looking phenomenal. Flaming Espinas and Risen Chameleos were quite exciting, especially Risen Chameleos. As for paid dlc, it is what it is.

I think I enjoyed watching your reactions more than the trailer XD I was just feeling disappointed when everything seemed to be fire. But after a few hours I'm just like eh whatever, is what it is, I'll fight anything Capcom gives us. Thanks for this :P
We felt the same way, it was disappointment at first, but then we were thinking it’s fine. The monsters will still be a ton to fight even if they are mostly fire.

Yea, it’s not promising in the slightest…
I think Rajang and Daimyo Hermitaur are paired in that mission because of the famous eastern myth of the crab and the monkey (can't remember if it was Japanese or Chinese though).
That's interesting, I have never heard of that before
@@BakeNation_MH Its got kind of a gruesome conclusion, though the concept of the crab and monkey seems pretty iconic.
i see a lot of ppl saying that there are a lot of fire monsters and now im curious to see if fire is really the most used element among monsters. That could be an interesting video to watch
We actually planned on making a video looking at the elemental distribution in all the Monster Hunter titles.

@@BakeNation_MH 1/3rd of all monsters throughought MH history are fire. (100+ or so out of around 300). Water is the second highest element.
