I remember watching this live in conference. It was difficult to watch Elder Wirthlin struggle but you also could see his determination to deliver this message to all of us as well as his devotion to the Lord. It was then great to see Elder Nelson come up to help Elder Wirthlin. Both Elder Wirthlin's determination to deliver his sermon to us and Elder Nelson's assistance to Elder Wirthlin became demonstrations of the Great Commandment.
I remember watching this and being so afraid for Elder Wirthlin that he would fall or not be able to finish his talk. The spirit was so strong, and I'm so grateful for his beautiful example of serving and enduring to the very end. Elder Nelson was the personification of the principles of Elder Wirthlin's talk. These are men to look up to.
I'm suffering Anxiety and Panic Attack due to my recent illness and everytime I feel just something bad to my health, I will have a Panic Attack. With these words from Elder Whirtlin, I was reminded on how our Father in Heaven is so beautiful that with His Love and Care for us as His children, He gave us His begotten son Jesus Christ to carry our burdens, anxiety, fear, sorrow and pain. President Nelson showed the simple act of kindness of what Elder Whirtlin testified. I will watch and ponder the words of Elder Whirtlin whenever I feel the anxiety and panic attack to remind myself that there's already someone who carried my pain and fear on the cross and he overcome it for me. Truly, LOVE IS THE BEGINNING, PRESENT AND END OF PATH OF DISCIPLESHIP. Serve God and His People and surely, we will feel His Love and Hand upon us. Thank you Elder Whirtlin and President Nelson!
I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with bad health. I can relate with everything you described. It really is so comforting to know there is a Savior who understands when nobody else does and who’s there to hold us during these struggles. I think one of the tests with having a chronic illness is looking outward and helping those who need help. I am grateful for talks like this to remind me to continually pray for charity.

Although I dont agree with the mormon doctrine. This Godly man. Mr. Nelson held unto his brother .. I can see the now late Mr. Wirthlin struggling but his brother held unto him.. Greater is no love than a man who lays down his life for his friend.. Im so honored to see something like this... Rest In Heaven Mr. Wirthlin and Thank you Mr.Nelson.. You definitely showed one of the greatest commandments here.. Loving our brother as our shelved

Today I watched this talk because I saw it in the footnotes of chapter 7 of the new testament institute manual. Needless to say I was so touch because it is a great example in action of loving God and loving your neighbor. Everything in this talk testify of love.
Gotta love our prophet such kind loving heart i love his willingness to jump in and help other's ❤❤❤❤ if we all had a heart like that this would be a way better world

Fun fact, Elder Wirthlin was Second Counselor to Stake President Nelson in 1971. Long time friends indeed.
