BassTheWorld.com Oh nice. Hey, don’t know if this is possible for you because you’re in Europe, but if you can, I suggest doing a review of the basses Tom Clement offers.
2:09 I've been interested in pedals for a while but I've literally never heard or played one that I liked nearly as much as my dry bass tone. That is, until now. That thing, whatever it is, sounds godlike.
And that's why I do not have any efx pedals. First off, nice vid showcasing all these pedals. And wow, what a crazy collection of bass guitars. I was one of the first bass players in Toronto Canada to use a Flanger on my bass. Bought a MXR Flanger the first week they arrived at the iconic Long & McQuade music store in Toronto, in and around the mid 70s. Bass players who saw me play all came up to me between sets and asked, "how r u getting that wild sound?" I used it for a chorus type effect, you know what I mean. However it was quite rare at the time. It got lost somewhere on the road and I never did replace it. So, for the next few decades I didn't run any efx. However, I've been using a rack mount compressor (Ashly) sinece the early 80s. Not really an fx. Just a way to control peaks and valleys I guess. Can't live without it and I have no idea how bass players do without. Even after hearing all these pedals in the vid, I couldn't pick one I would use. At most, a nice octave pedal and a good quality chorus / flanger pedal. Having said all this, I do love Doug Wimbush (Living Colour) and he's got about 42 pedals on his board. lol
some of the tastiest stuff that i heard came from Rene's hands man, would love to see a jam between Rene and Nathan (both of my heros). maybe a new series? just good unedited non stop 20 mins jams between players and see what happens?
Great sounds and playing! I appreciate the effort you put into your videos. In depth information and reviews and just killer playing. Please, i request you review the Tech21 dp3x pedal. I particularly would love to hear it compared to some of Darkglasses offerings. Thanks!
peter g Thanks for your breakdown. I was curious about the pedals use as sansamp. I am also a dUg fan. I would still love to hear bass the worlds in depth exploration of its sounds if they ever felt so inclined. Accompanied by some quality audio samples and badass performance we have come to expect.
If ever there was a video to give you Bass envy... This is it ! Some Beautiful looking Basses in this vid and the pedals are amazing too... I particularly like "Plasma" and the "C4 Synth" pedals :o)
I don't know why anyone put the dislike this video. Either they jealous with Rene's skill or GAS-ing too hard and cannot afford all those pedals. I'm the latter LOL (I hit the thumbs up tho) Great video man, enjoy your playing!!
nices video :) könntet ihr aber vielleicht öfter "budget Bässe" reviewen? mich interressiert es total was "billigere" Bässe wie von Harley Benton/Squire/Epiphone so drauf haben
This is THE best way to show pedals, no talking, no messing around, no waste of time, but I’d do a mini section of just the bass before adding the full track

How about PandaMIDI's Future Impact? How does it compare to the Source Audio C4?
Killer video guys!!! Looks like I need to get a few pedals.
Wow, thanks a lot for your kind words. :)
I'm not gonna lie, I'd love to see this kind of video by you, as good as these are
@@reneflachsenhaar2968 Doesn't mean your demos aren't still some of the best out there (probably most of the best out there) 😉
No problem at all man, Nathan is a musical beast on bass. i really enjoy his vids too! :)
Rene is killing! What a talent to make any bass with any pedal sound so musical & groovy! Thumbs up! 👍
I must have watched the first video a thousand times, thanks for doing a new one! This bassist is very talented and makes me want to practice more!
Well done. By changing up styles to best “fit” the FX box, this was one of the best stomp box demos around! Thanks for your efforts!
Rene - cheers and thanks to you - always such musical playing in these great demos!
Thanks man. :)
Rene plays several styles in a very relaxed but on-point way. The funky stuff is cool, but I appreciate the heavier rock styles especially.
OMG I loved that tone you got with the Wooly Mammoth! Almost like a distorted subwoofer kind of vibe.
Love this guy. Love the backing tracks and the pedals. Beautiful presentation.

I've been interested in pedals for a while but I've literally never heard or played one that I liked nearly as much as my dry bass tone. That is, until now. That thing, whatever it is, sounds godlike.
I know, right? "Just plug it in DI," they say. Get all mad scientist on it, sir!

Man, such great sounds... flawless playing!
Makes me want more effects, but in the end, practice is what we all need.
Agreed. But at the same time, pedals are also what I need.
Hot damn rene is of the most creative bassists out there
That planet B plus distortion is so nice
It's great to see the Amish getting out and jamming more.
Nice to see a bassist demo bass effects and actually give the pedals context.
Nothing but love with these pedals! Thanks for the video
The backing tracks add life and musicality, but on some pedals it makes harder to hear the FX.
The whole point of having an effect is to check if it works in the mix with other instruments unless your going solo
Use headphones.
Use headphones
@@kylelittle7036 That's what I did. 😉
@@jin92giu That's what I did. 😉
Awesome playing and video. Enjoyed it very much.
HOLY SH*T! I wasn't expect you to come in so aggressive on the bass guitar... NICE!
That’s amazing. I use a lot tonally for bass. This video demonstrates killer reasons to use other options.
Excellent upload. Thanks for sharing 😊
I love your style - thanks for a great demo.
excellent, real pleasure to hear you play !
Dark glass pedals sound good
2:51 sounds like From the pinnacle to the pit from Ghost 😁
Robin Weber I agree ! The darkglass Alpha Omega is truly a beauty, I wouldn’t be surprised if they used it in their songs :)
HA... IT DOES
Sweet video. Instant fan of this channel
liking the small little excerpts on the plaque in the background
some of the tastiest stuff that i heard came from Rene's hands man, would love to see a jam between Rene and Nathan (both of my heros). maybe a new series? just good unedited non stop 20 mins jams between players and see what happens?

That odd-looking cream colored bass ( don't know the brand ? ) with the 5 knobs, sounded phenomenal.

René the groovemaster!
Holy shit that wolly mammoth was dope!
I wonder if the Plasma pedal could adjust to The Mel from GFR sound.
Awesome!
Does anyone know the name of the bass guitar that René is using at 0:42, 1:17, ...? It looks really dope.
That’s a Dingwall NG3

LATENT LEMON 👌
Impressive... not a question of jealousy, but is it necessary to change bass every time you change pedal ??
We chose basses according to what works best with each pedal
what's the style you play on 4:59 with the spectrum intelligent filter?
just an idea , a riff.....nothing special.
Straight Bass
Flächsmaster von Funkenstein killergroovt sich wieder durchs Regal :D
