    Just to clarify what happened, since it is not well described in the video, the glass jar slipped out of my hand while washing it, landing hard in the sink. Somehow the jar didn’t break, but the sink did! 😩

      Thanks Elisabetta. It was sad to see the sink get cracked, but I learned a valuable lesson from the experience. And the cat is doing well! :)

    My precious Dr Kitty Leela decided to help me clean off the table. I use empty spice jars & 1 clean larger jar. She swiped the one jar that, thankfully, didn’t have too much in it..but it landed upside down into a box beside my table I was filling with paint, palettes and PAPER for my eldest who has jumped into professional WC. (She’s the REAL artist of the family..singer, songwriter, multiple instruments, sculpture, graphic arts, traditional Chinese painting, acrylics & now WC 😂). Still unsure whether to keep & try the dried out paper..or put it in my practice pile. Of COURSE it was mostly arches…

    I changed the thumbnail for this video, the first one I thought was just too much.

    Wow! I know where I'm coming from when I wondered why on earth you changed that sink anyway. A poor developing country. I wouldn't bother with a small crack like that if the sink is not leaking water.

      Yeah, you are right. It would not be worth replacing unless the sink was leaking. Unfortunately it started to leak right away and had to be replaced. Thanks for watching and for posting a comment! :)

    I do use glass jars, but also reused plastic food containers. I have a pail in my studio (actually have two, one is large) because my studio is upstairs in this 100 + year farm house, which as no bathroom upstairs, so going up and down the stairs just to dump water is crazy. I actually fill a gallon water jug for my water so I've got plenty. Sorry you had to learn that lesson. but plastic is a better choice. (:

      Plastic is definitely better. I have since switched to a collapsible plastic container found on Amazon that I can use in my studio or bring with me outdoors. Cheers and thanks for watching!

    I have taken the paint out of cheap watercolor pans to reuse and then cleaned any leftover paint out in the bathroom sink. At least two have gone down the drain. I rescued one but couldn’t get to the other. My guess if the sink clogs he, my other half will find it, lol.

      Hi Rayne! So what you are saying is that I am not the only who has had a watercolor mishap using the sink? Thank you for sharing your story, it makes me not feel as bad. :)

    How was even possible to crack the sink with that glass container! The sink is supposed to be made by very strong porcelain that can't break that easily. Better call the manufacturing company of that sink and ask them to refund you because this sink was probably faulty from the day that you've installed it in the bathroom.
    The glass watercolour container was very expensive btw.
    I use ceramic cereal bowls and the reason why I use such bowls is that they stand low enough in order not to overturn them by accident while I'm painting they are heavy enough to stand firmly on my desk and they cost less to buy them. 4-5 euros or something similar.

      Ceramic bowls are a great idea! Yeah it was shocking to discover it was the sink and not the water jar that got cracked. How crazy is that?!

      @@morrisonwatercolors Ceramic bowls are great just pick one that is somewhat wider at the bottom or if you can find a square-ish one in order to make sure that it will not be possible to overturn it accidentally.
      Bowls have another advantage. They are lower and are wider in diameter and so it is easier to wash your brush. You don't have to lift you hand that high to wash the brush or to watch where you hand goes in order to find where the opening is.
      The sink was probably faulty from the day you bought it. Sinks don't break that easily and definitely not by glass containers.

    I’m confused.

    • @morrisonwatercolors
      @morrisonwatercolors  2 роки тому

      Yeah, it’s a little confusing because I neglected to say the glass jar slipped out of my hand because it was wet and it dropped into the sink and cracked the porcelain. Yikes!

    • @R_H21
      @R_H21 2 роки тому +1

      @@morrisonwatercolors Oh, that makes sense. I use a little glass jar because it’s heavier (than plastic) and won’t move when I’m cleaning a brush. But now I know to hold on tight when I’m dumping the water!!

    • @morrisonwatercolors
      @morrisonwatercolors  2 роки тому

      @@R_H21 Definitely be careful holding onto that glass jar, as I learned the hard way it can crack sinks!

      Sad day, I lost my grip on the wet glass jar and it slipped out of my hand and cracked the sink! 😲
