Nearly 60, I remembered this blaring out onto the streets from my bedroom during long summer days and cool winter nights; some years later I’m still rocking it, and my kids are huge fans of these and every other great rock band of the eighties; my 18 year old just gets blown away by this!
This album is without a doubt one of the best hard rock albums of all time. And it's definitely Jake E. Lee's best work. And it just goes without saying Ray was just a phenomenal singer. The vocal melodies on this album are just unbelievable. This band should have been WAY bigger. I've often thought hard about why they weren't bigger and I think it comes down to two reasons. One, the musical landscape back then was just jam packed with rock bands. This was when Guns N Roses and Metallica simply ruled the rock world and there was just simply so many bands and you also had the transition from 80s rock to grunge. And two, I think this is almost a more mature form of hard rock that not everyone can appreciate. This is not "Unskinny Bop" or "We're not Gonna Take It." It's almost like a painting you would see on Night Gallery. Almost morose at times. And I love the hell out of it. I have all three albums on my phone and I keep coming back to them and just marvel at how good Badlands was.

Once in awhile I play this album… I cannot even describe how High Wire is the most perfect way to open an album!!! Everything about this album is why I’m a music fan! It's Jake E. Lee. He was with Ozzy before the Witch fired him from Ozzy. He got so Up-set Because of it, he went and made his Own Band. His 2nd Album is BAD-ASS also. Ray Passed a-way in the 90's late some-time. Health Problems. Eric Singer is the Drummer on this Album. Eric Play's with Kiss Off and on thow.
Those of you who thought Jake E. Lee's best work was with Ozzy, think again! RIP Ray Gillian..great vocalist! Not nearly enough recognition for this band.
52 also. Saw the same tour in Philly. If I remember correctly Jake's leg was in a cast. Nearly dozed off during Great White's set, then watched Tesla kick ass. Great time to be 18.
Scott K seen the tour in Evansville indiana james hetfield broke his arm so they didnt play proud jake e lee took tbe show ozzy was to drunk it was sad but the rest of the band kicked but
Yup, I saw Ozzy on the Ultimate Sin tour with Metallica as the opening act in Chicago. Metallica had released Master of Puppets and Cliff was still alive. After seeing them Ozzy was good but Metallica blew the doors off the place.
Oh my holy god that would have been ridiculous. If I saw Puppet's era Metallica and Ozzy with Jake in the one sitting I would self destruct. I can't emphasise enough how ridiculous that is.
Jake is very underrated....glad he’s once again active. Brad Gillis delivered after Randy’s passing. I saw ultimate sin tour in San Francisco...killer show.
This was my first concert. Ray sang right to me.Dreams In The Dark no less.I was so happy that night. Terrible to hear about his passing. I really would have liked to hear more from Badlands.
It is a crime that this Classic gem has not been uploaded to Apple Music’s ever growing library of music!!!Some body needs to put this in the library immediately,Pronto, and now!!!!!!
one crime begets another? it's a simple matter to record the audio stream of this upload. as is true of all music posted on youtube. copyrighted music really shouldn't be on youtube at all, just as copyrighted video is not. but since this record is here, and i cannot buy it, i'm recording it. from the beginning, or at least since payola, the music industry has had so many shady characters and grey morals, that it simply can't stand on principle on anything. what i'm most mystified by though is why the lawyers didn't suggest that the record remain in print and all proceeds go to victims' funds or something along those lines.
There are very legit reasons why the music is not available on streaming services. Just search the internet and you will read all about it. We all enjoy this music but at the same time we have to respect the victims, their families and the settlement that was litigated by all those parties involved.

I saw them at "The Channel" in Boston in 1990-1991. They were INSANE!!!
rod mcdaniel I bought it in '89 also...damn we're old.
@@infrared3717 *Gillen. Absolutely no relation to Ian Gillan. 🙂
One of the best bands and albums to come from this era. The follow up Voodoo Highway is also killer.
Right on the money.
Also their third album, Dusk, is killer. Released after Ray passed away.
Its a good follow up, but as a drummer, I missed Eric Singer's contribution.
Bloody oath it's killer JMGMarcus, their version of James Taylor's Fire and Rain is unreal
Eric Singer just KILLS it on this album. I agree but Jeff is also very tasty in his licks. Not as good as Singer but what he does on the second album fits the band well.
I used to ride my mountain bike to this album when I was living in Manzanita, Oregon. Right across the street from the Pacific Ocean💕🙂
I was in the best shape of my life, ROCKIN' it out!!
Take care,
Washington State USA 🇺🇸🌅
This album is a hidden treasure, to bad things got cut short for this band. Badlands was the true definition of hard rock.
These were the days where GENIUS IN MUSIC IS A REQUIREMENT!
Every song on this album is great! 🔥🔥🔥no filler!
I was 16 in 1989……..I’ve never really got into badlands at that time in life! It’s always great to add some monster 80’s Rock 33 yrs later………Jake E Lee is a monster on this album…………Ray Gillen has the most amazing voice I believe in Rock RIP Ray
Front to back just a killer loaded hard rock album with dynamics, melody, nasty and tasty guitar work, stunning vocals and great SONGS. One of the best rock albums of the decade. Just push play at any point on this album and you’re good. And what a great goddamn name for a band on top of it all.
I would never be tired of listening Seasons to raise your spirits
This album is timeless!! Masterpiece. Rock on! RIP Ian 💖
saw them summer of '89 opening for Cinderella. debut album is very underrated. there is no filler here. all terrific tracks from beginning to end.
RIP Ray Gillen🌹
Winter’s Calling. One of my favorite songs ever. Incredible.
My favorite SONG off this album. Love this jam. Great guitar work too. RIGHT on. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Best early jack e Lee.and Eric Singer
@@alexsaucedo8032 love it for you brother this album had no bad tracks.
Made me play drums.
Man listen to it lunchtime n it kicks ass still..rip Ray
Once in awhile I play this album… I cannot even describe how High Wire is the most perfect way to open an album!!! Everything about this album is why I’m a music fan! At a time when frills & fluff were all over the place this was a grass roots work of art!
I was always miffed at how they didn’t go over the way I felt they deserved.
But, I feel lucky to have listened to this band!!! They were a gift!
Thanks to them!!!
Super under rated. Are you from SI, NY by any chance?
This really is one of the greatest albums ever made, there is just something magical about this record
Absolutely nothing magical about this derivative blend of LZ/Whitesnake/Motley Crue/Guns N'Roses
Someones bitter@@TheAntsh
57 years old metal fan here. I've heard of Badlands but never heard this album before today. Good stuff!
Check out Voodoo Highway and Dusk their other 2 albums just as good!
Seriously how could anyone dislike Badlands?
Pop music fans don't appreciate Classic rock. They're got their up their.....over people like Taylor Swift.
RIP-- Sir Ray! Very top echelon vocalist. One of the very best EVER,and this album is SOOO underrated it’s sickening !
Rot in hell Ray! Fucker spread AIDS to many women he slept with knowing he had the disease.
When I listen to Badlands, my neighbors do too.
Not a weak link at all in this band....as perfect as can be. Just insanely kickass music.
That's some badass music😊
Just a forefront amazing band I can never get enough of still today... Band lands is onebad-ass band I must keep listening to..
🤘
I can't believe I just discovered this existed. What an awesome album!!!!
One of my favourite drum performances on an album. Eric Singer is the bomb!!!!!
Good music for getting ripped and singing every every word!
One of the Most Underrated Band and Album of all times.!!!
Jake E Lee is a Genius when it comes to producing and song writing and of course a Master Guitarist.
One of the Best still in the world today to ever play and preform\\ Yet he one of the most kindest Humblest man you can ever met.
In which he always put 100 per cent of hard work in every aspect especially to all his amazing fans around the world. !!!!! Long live Jake E Lee and Rock and Roll.!!!!
STOP SAYING UNDERRATED!!!!!!!!!!!
This and the second album are works that deserve more recognition.
I went their show in NY. I don't remember exactly when but they were so cool. I can't forget about that show. It was not a big venue but the show was pretty intense.
I never get sick of this album and I like every song!
Ray Gillen was a fantastic singer! Jake E. Lee a great guitarist!
One of the best debut albums of all time. “Seasons” is an absolute masterpiece.
Who In This 2020?
Me
ditto, dude
Definitely.
I'm so in this!!
Also Page never ever play this solos! Ever.
Gillen bordel !
@@MrIgorek13 what????????
Jake was some of Ozzy’s greatest work lol
Great album.
The beauty of Rock.
Beautiful singer, beautiful voice🎤And Rockmusik 💥 Excellent combination.
This band was way before there time. And look , were 2022and. They still kick Ass!!🤘🤘🤘thank you very much for this record.🙏🤘🤘
Actually- they were after their time; they were a throwback to the 70’s
still listening to this classic🤘
52 yrs old. Burned this tape up. Seen em in toledo sports arena in 89. Telsa went on after them. Awesome times!!
52 also. Saw the same tour in Philly. If I remember correctly Jake's leg was in a cast. Nearly dozed off during Great White's set, then watched Tesla kick ass. Great time to be 18.
I was 16 when Jake took Randy's place.. I saw the ultimate sin tour in charlotte n.c Metallica opened. Jake e lee was awsome!!!! Nn
Yea, memories, I saw that same show in Ft. Worth, TX (Metallica/Ozzy) - Tarrent County Convention Center... Drove down from Wichita Falls, TX...
2023 que banda incrível meu! 🤘
saw them live in johnson city tennessee freedom hall ...great white/tesla/badlands they tore the roooof off good times late 80s
This was my first concert. Ray sang right to me.Dreams In The Dark no less.I was so happy that night. Terrible to hear about his passing. I really would have liked to hear more from Badlands.
Words. Cannot. Do. Justice. Beides. Maybe. Perfect
High Wire is a classic of hard rock/heavy metal! Pure Led Zeppellin/Whitesnake style!!!! Superband!!
It is a crime that this Classic gem has not been uploaded to Apple Music’s ever growing library of music!!!Some body needs to put this in the library immediately,Pronto, and now!!!!!!
Won't happen. The ĺabel will never reissue it.
one crime begets another? it's a simple matter to record the audio stream of this upload. as is true of all music posted on youtube. copyrighted music really shouldn't be on youtube at all, just as copyrighted video is not. but since this record is here, and i cannot buy it, i'm recording it. from the beginning, or at least since payola, the music industry has had so many shady characters and grey morals, that it simply can't stand on principle on anything. what i'm most mystified by though is why the lawyers didn't suggest that the record remain in print and all proceeds go to victims' funds or something along those lines.
There are very legit reasons why the music is not available on streaming services. Just search the internet and you will read all about it. We all enjoy this music but at the same time we have to respect the victims, their families and the settlement that was litigated by all those parties involved.
Your only bet is to buy a used copy. It was pulled by the record company.
@@jb1934succintly PUT mojo!!!!

Right here! Love this album.
I barbecue to this album all the time bro \m/

30 years and counting!
To this day, this is still a great album! One of the classics........
Yesss , man ! ! !

Awesome album from beginning to end. 1.4 million views of a record from 1989 that many people did not know about says it all.
One of the most underrated band of all time. Amazing!
Wow ! That's all I keep hearing !
