I love your music so much! Any plans to release more of these epic jams? Also do you have any plans to get your music on iTunes? I buy most of my music there. Much love ❤️ ❤️❤️
Spooky Zoo : Thanks!! I explain the general routing in this video: ua-cam.com/video/5Hr5LKARioQ/v-deo.html Summary: the four Volcas each go through one (or two) effects pedal(s) and then to the mixer - I use the the 4 stereo tracks for that. The voice recorder goes to a mono track. All of these tracks are routed to the “alt 3-4” subgroup, which goes into the compressor, and the output of the compressor goes back into the mixer, in this case split to mono channels 1 & 2. One thing that’s different from the video: I use the aux send to send the drums (Volca Sample) into the MS-50G, which in turn is connected to the compressor’s side-chain input. This way only the drums (kick, after EQ on the Zoom) will trigger the side-chain, and no other bass frequencies. Sorry, long story haha... let me know if you have any questions! :)
Oh, yeah, man, this is really good. The setup is giving me a rash!! If I plugged this all up, it would sound like static. Not sure how you guys have it sounding so clean. Any chance we could get another ambient jam like the Volca Bass session? I listen to that every night all night, it is perfect and beautiful.
tonepoet : Thanks for the kind words, that means a lot!! We’ve had noise problems before as well. The simplest solution is to buy 3.5mm ground loop isolators, one for each Volca / instrument. That got rid of most of the noise for us. :) Regarding the Volca Bass ambient track: do you mean the one with the looper?
tonepoet : Wow, that is such a beautiful image... I’m amazed my music can have such an impact on people’s lives, thanks for sharing that. I loved doing that track. I’ll see if I can do something similar, if and when my creativity takes me there. :)
aramis marquez : Haha no, there’s two reasons actually. The main reason is that the Waldorf is not stereo (which is a real shame), and I wanted to retain the stereo panning of the Volca Sample tracks. The other reason is that now that we have the compressor on the table (top left) there’s just no room for the Waldorf, haha!
Not only are your tracks great, they also sound good (I can be picky about mixing and mastering but your stuff is a cut above the rest). I have to wonder about so many 'youtube jams', if the guys are actually listening to what they are doing or simply getting lost in patching and tweaking parameters.
jgrzinich : Thank you so much for the kind words!! I find myself doing two different things. One is composing, like with this song, for which I try to find the right balance in sounds and an interesting way to arrange the track (live). The other is experimentation - whether that means grabbing a few instruments and just twisting some knobs or making a specific plan to try something new. I think there’s something to be said for both approaches, either can be interesting and rewarding. :)
guys, add some visual stuff (neo lightining at low light room, stand up in front of your camera and dance a little, like kiasmos, for exm:) ) and you will grow much faster and, maybe i missed that, can you tell me how you sample your volca bass?
Hi, supi, Daumen hoch und Abo, würde mich auch über einen Besuch sehr freuen, hoffe auf gegenseitige Freundschaft, lass uns gegenseitig unterstützen. Liebe Grüße Siggi

@@SlenterendeBeer That's the one, with the TC Electronic Ditto. My daughter loves it as well. We both fall asleep to this every night. It's heavenly.

Cool .. greetings bro.
Maximilian Di Gregorio : Thanks!! :)
Dragon 🐲
What filter effect did you use on the ms70cdr for the drums?
aramis marquez : It’s the “Z-Organ” effect, which contains both a HPF and LPF. I set the octave settings (“upper” and “lower”) to 0.
Nice. Didnt know you can use that. :D thanks for the tip!! I really dig this jam!
aramis marquez : We’ve only recently discovered it, pretty neat. Thanks for listening!! :)
Is that the reason the waldorf 2 pole is gone? Hahaha
aramis marquez : Haha no, there’s two reasons actually. @@SlenterendeBeer oh experimenting and noodling is fine, we all do it, but it's refreshing to hear well crafted and executed work as well. Keep it up.

Godspeed_me : Thanks for the tips! ;) Not sure what you mean, I don’t sample my Volca Bass?
So this is how they made daydreaming
