Hello! I really want to do a solo trip to Sao Palo and Rio next year. But most of my friends are saying it dangerous... But by looking at your videos, it looks pretty safe. What are your thoughts?
Hi @suriagerrard3396, I think Rio and São Paulo are as dangerous as most big cities out there. You need to have street smarts and take precautions as you would in New York, London, etc. I have a detailed video about safety with 26 tips that might help you with some of your concerns. Feel free to comment again if there are still questions :)
Just leave all unnecessary valuables at home or hotel safe, then you'll be OK even if something untoward was to happen. I have spent a year and a half in total in Rio with no issues.
This channel is awesome. Thanks for sharing all this knowledge.
Thank you for being here!
I lived for many years near Palácio do Catete, I only frequent its garden. Last year I finally visited it inside, and I was very positively surprised!
I think it was more like 2 years ago, 2021, no? 👀 (spoiler alert: it was 2021 😅)
Great daytime activities. I definitely got to get to the island during the week.
Honestly, that island is amazing! It doesn’t even feel like Rio, very chill (and they have a beautiful giant baobab there which is very cool!)
Thank you for the information
Glad the video was helpful 🥰

Don’t know what you are talking about 👀
Pedra do Sal is hardly a secret.
Not anymore, used to be back when I filmed this video. Now it is very popular with tourists, before there were only mostly locals.
