The gradient of *110%* provided here is a measure of the slope and means 110 metres *vertical* height for every 100 metres horizontal length. So 100% means 100m vertically for 100m horizontally which is 45° - 110% is 47.71°.

These are the Kleiner and Grosser Mythen, which can be walked with some experience and good condition. The Grosser Mythen is called the "Matterhorn der Wanderer" (of the hikers).

Hi, I really thought this was a lost opportunity. The one unusual thing about this train seemed to be that the user parts of the carriages were self-levelling. However, this was totally omitted from the film. What would have been interesting would have been a view from the side, probably at a fair distance to give most effect, at a point where the gradient had most change so that you could see the sections revolve against the basic structure. As it was, it was just a trip up a mountain railway, no different from any other. John Heward.
Hi John. That depends on expectations. I just made a video of the infrastructure in the valley and mountain station and the ride uphill and downhill. If you want to watch a video of the self-leveling you can just search a little further on YT, the internet or go there yourself and make a nice video of it. M curious. Greetings, Joachim

can any one please tell me, what are the advantages of a fenicular system over cable cars and ariel trams, why are they still in use?
Good question. I don't no exactly to be honoust.... I think i depends on the surroundings and possibility's of the specific mountain.

Hi Mike, That's the question I asked myself too. The incline is 110% and that is degrees 47.7º according too different sources.

100% is 45° in this case 110% is 55° very steep for a cable train
11 meter up within a 10-meter distance = 110%. Do not get confused by a gradient/slope, which is in °.
