Bought this jacket back in 2018 - lost it (DONT ASK) - bought it again in Jan 2021 - "Im a happy camper" (quoting Father Jack from Father Ted") well worth the £900 total investment. Great video - excellent review - well presented - fantastic character - all the best James Hull
Do you feel like having enough room underneath the jacket for layering garments, such as fleeces, synthetic puffer?. Whats your chest and waist size? I myself have bought in a XL, but I think I have a larger frame than you, but still would like ample room for other layers.
Hi mate, great review video. I realise I'm watching this video 2-3 years on but can I ask what is it like for layering in terms of down/synthetic insulation. I have bought the Montane Antifreeze XT and I also have a Rab Microlight Alpine jacket. If I'm wearing say thicker insulation such as the Antifreeze, would the Lhotse need to be sized up due to the Alpine fit on the hips? Cheers.
Hi David - yes I would definitely recommend sizing up for that scenario. The good thing with a waterproof shell is that you can still use it if it's a bit large, but you really can't use it if it's too tight. Just my simplistic way of looking at it! Thanks for the comment!
I've got the ME saltoro it's lighter than the Lhotse but I absolutely love it I've been out in some grim weather this last year and it's not let me down I'd definitely get another
I just bought this jacket and it fits well in all areas except for the armpits. I don’t know if this is normal as I’m pretty new to hiking gear. So space around the shoulders and chest seem ok, it’s as if the arm holes are too high. Do you reckon I should size up?
this one mate - not expensive and looks a bit James Bond! Wearing it all day every day! www.mountainwarehouse.com/eclipse-padded-mens-full-zip-p28499.aspx/
@@CampingSecretsUK I did, it’s the black and grey one, all the other colours are still at full price £360, no idea why the black and grey one is the only one on offer?

Great stuff. I'll see if I can get one to try. Love ME gear
Personally I like this jacket but wondering why you tested it with one of the pits open and the other closed?
Because I'm an idiot Mark. I hope this helps. :-)
@@CampingSecretsUK I hadn’t got to the part where you mentioned you had simply forgotten to close it 😆
How do these come up sizing wise? I normally wear a medium waterproof jacket. Thanks
They seem on the money with the size, so a medium will probably do the trick for you

Hi there - that's an interesting question. I'm going to try it on again and will write back. What are you wearing under it?
@@CampingSecretsUK a base layer and light fleece. I think I’m just not used to wearing jackets with fitted arm holes.
@@ghas4151 The ME website indicated medium for me but I went for large due to the 'alpine fit'
What mid-layer are you wearing?

Just found this jacket on offer at Cotswold outdoors for £270 👌🏻
