This bike is growing on me! I testrode it a few weeks ago and it's a really good bike. And those bits and pieces TEC comes up with makes it so much more "wantable"! A smooth and yet faster pickup engine, small indicators and rearlight...well, you've all seen the film! Looks so good!
I’ve noticed that the stock pipes sit below the level of frame, it would be great if your low level pipes sit higher than the frame so the lowest part of the bike becomes the frame. It would look good and make jacking nice and easy. Keep up the good work!
In Virginia, USA. I ordered the SS-304 mufflers today for my 2020 650 Interceptor. May install a 742cc kit next Spring. I have a 2012 Bonneville SE and 2012 Thruxton to compare the R.E. to. I agree the Enfield with its extra gear, lighter weight and ABS is hard to beat. The TrIumphs were $2,000 higher in price eight years ago, they are $10K now.
I have to agree with your comments about the engine and power train on this bike. I now have 4000 kilometers on mine and it is Super Smooth and a complete pleasure to ride. I now find myself driving more at a nice relaxed pace and just enjoying the ride. I still have the stock pipes, love the sound< and have kept the bike almost stock. The bike runs so well that any small changes for me are not worth the bother. The best bike i have ever owned.
The Interceptor 650 just launched in Indonesia a couple of days ago and I must say, yours mods make it such a more beautiful bike! The baffles out sounds surreal and your rear lights look awesome. Looking fwd to Pt 4! Great job TEC!
Scrambler look is what i am waiting for... So that I can do the same.. indian roads need a good suspension.. and thank you for making this video.. waiting for the next part.
The tail is tidied up very well. The tail light and indicators are fantastic. They will sell well so please have them in stock. Still excited to see the full SS exhaust system from TEC, preferably the shorter ones too. The sound without the baffles was simply the best I have heard from the INT650.
Worth the wait for vid 3! Disagree about the taillight as I prefer the original, understand if others don't. Can't wait to see all the other parts you will be testing. Would love to see alloy mud guards and side covers. Cheers from Canada!
The exhaust without the baffles sound great, not a fan of wrapped exhausts but would be very interested in a full stainless system, also that rear light looks absolutely superb imo, keep the mods coming and thanks for making the videos.👍👍
Wow, what a great project. You and your team are doing some amazing work. Some of my thoughts on the project... - The billet headlight brackets: Perfect. Honestly, I don't believe you could have done any better. Those are exactly what should be on that bike. RE should take note, for future iterations of the model. - The handlebars: Love them. I'm not a fan of chrome and the simpler style you've gone with is just right for the look that you're going for. - The bar end mirrors: Fit the theme and are a personal preference on this style of bike so, big thumbs up for going with them. - The airbox modification: I like where you're going with this, and am very interested in seeing what the end result will look like, utilizing dyno results to further the design. - The sump guard: I like your design much better than RE's design. The only thing that I might suggest is to offer a version that has vertical slits for ventilation, instead of the round holes. This is just a personal preference, based solely on aesthetic appeal. - The exhaust: This is SUCH a subjective subject that I'm reticent to even offer an opinion, but what the heck. I like the wrap job that you did, and I really like that slip-on. If I were replacing that exhaust, I'd be looking for a full stainless, matte finish setup. The rear shocks: Another job well done. The black finish makes them 'disappear' into the bike, and not call attention to themselves, which is how it should be with shocks. - The rear light/indicators: If you were to offer that setup as a kit, I think you'd have a hot selling item. That setup compliments the bike nicely. It's modern, but still fits with the overall design of the bike. - The foot pegs: I'm very interested in seeing what you come up with, as the peg location and build quality does tend to elicit complaints from just about everyone who rides the Interceptor. - The oil cooler: This is just me being curious and not having experience with an oil cooler setup. Would it make sense to experiment with a bigger cooler? I live in hot, muggy Florida and am a bit concerned about the cooling ability of the stock setup. Just some of my thoughts. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see the next update.
You've nearly sold me on one of these, especially with what you are starting to make for them! Looks like I might get shot of my Ducati... The Enfield's are designed for Indian roads, so not much difference to British ;-) I've ridden an Enfield in India and some of the road are pretty sweet, long sweeping curves down the Goan coastline, lovely, then again, some are horrific!
Actually most of the roads which are not used much are very bad but main roads are good.... We troll our govt. for road conditions Btw thanks for visiting india😁
Soma Paul true! I was last there ten years ago, highways are good, but yeah, some of the smaller roads are bad... it’s a great country to ride in, can get scary at times! Can’t wait to go back again!
The bike’s looking great. Your point about the Ducati Scrambler and Street Twin was Interesting as those are the two bikes I’m considering. The standard interceptor needs a fair bit of work to make it look good in my view, whereas the Street Twin looks good out the box. I guess there’s a big price difference though to spend on customising. Particularly like the rear light and indicators on yours.
This project is great, many things that I'd do to the bike, if i had one I'd definitly go with the chromed tank version, the reason for this is I fell in love with the Interceptor 750 Mk. II when i first saw it in 1969 at the age of 14 and I have yet to see a more beautiful bike, however that's what I'd do, to make it look a bit more like the original: Chrome metal mudflaps rear and front with braces, original handlebars, wich are more nice looking, original shocks to the rear, rubber bellows on the front fork, the only thing that would be left alone is the frame, although I don't like that straight line from the back to the front, the original has a more sweeping curve to it but it would be to big a work I think. Eagerly waiting for the next episode, Cheers
Bike is looking good. Karmakaze Moto channel had his Himalayan exhaust ceramic coated black, looks great. The Commando Roadster had a short seat showing off the rear subframe loop, an exact copy would look good on the Interceptor. May have to buy one of these Royal Enfields.
This is what i have been waiting for a customised enfield 650 , and done well too . Love the vids really detailed stuff . Think i might sweet talk the misses and grab an enfield myself .
This is the great thing about these Enfields - they are a relatively cheap canvas to customise as you like. My aim is to give mine a retro '71 Triumph/Norton/BSA look, with slightly lower handlebars. I'm wondering if those pesky footrests that have cut my shins could be replaced with the slightly rearset controls from the Continental GT.
could you design a single look seat with a small tool roll to cover the extra inches at the back . then your panniers could be built round that as well . for me id matt the engine cases , and add rubber gaiters to the forks .
I have had the stock seat on mine recovered ribbed brown, pillion strap and full Gel. The first 500 miles before this were painful! I noticed the adjustable levers but can't see them for sale yet. Also how is the development of the luggage rack? A few are on the market but the mounts are only on the grab rail, they will never last. Excellent project TEC Bike, my vote is flat tracker.
Definitely a flat tracker to start and watch it morph into a full on scrambler to get a view on both. Plug and play wiring harness would be good for the lights and blinkers. Any plans for shorty cans. Still think the shorty ones you guys do for the bonneville are the best sounding out there.
Some great mods you've done. Will the silencers be road legal in the UK, with the baffles in ??. Really loving your comments too on the Interceptor, as this bike is most defiantly on my to buy list in the VERY near future.
Avoid the flat tracker look please !!! I don't know many that actually like the way they look stick to the cafe/scrambler look 👍 also with regards to the rear break light have you guys looked into making a small circle shape type ?? And possibly something similar aswell with the indicators. Thank you and keep the videos coming love watching them 👍
Update, my 650 has just about every US Tecbike part on it. Love this bike. Just picked up the tail light an indicator kit. I wanted a set of the black handle bars you have there but not available here in the US yet. Thanks as always.
The late '60's Bonneville had the best sounding exhaust note of any bike I've ever heard. The BSA A65 Lightning as well. This bike seems to be a higher pitched note. Is it just the recording and playback, or is that the way it sounds? Loved that deeper throaty sound!
I find it odd that you have removed the front mudguard extender and fitted an oil filter/sump plate. The orange inter has a light coloured mudguard with a black extender which blends quite well with the tyre and gives protection to the front of the engine.
Nice to see the progress you've made, although, progress I expect cannot come quick enough for many. I watched the video on how to de-restrict the Street Twin, it makes you think on how Triumph and Enfield engineered these bikes to suit the markets they were aiming at and how much you will be able to improve the overall performance of the Interceptor.I like the look of the Flat Track Triumph with its 2 into 1 exhaust very nice and I understand Enfield intend to offer mag wheels for the Interceptor in the near future, progress every where eh?.....
Excellent as always and great to hear your reviews about the bike. I'm of the same opinion as below that shorter cans would be nicer, I guess its because the down pipes are so long? keep up the good work!
Hi great video. You may have sold the interceptor to me. Have ridden a few bikes over the years the biggest was a V Stromboli’s 650. How do they compare for performance? Looking to buy in the next year. How do you think the Interceptor would do 2 up. Looking for something that is ok for moderate touring 2 up in say Nearby Europe on goodish roads. Not looking for lightening performance cos that would put the Mrs off for life, but has to be adequate, deal safel Y with any road situation, keep up with “A” road traffic 2 up, be capable of maybe a bigger seat and panniers. the main thing is how it would deliver what I have suggested here with the wife on the back(she’s no twiggy, probably closer to 2x twiggy to be truthful) however I don’t want to go down the route of a mega big tourer with all that entails when she might not like it anyway.. Your thoughts will be most welcome. PS how can I get a tecbike baseball cap?
I really like your videos and mods - except the indicators.. : ) IMO the ultimate retro look would be to fit the old Z900's winkers on it. I am probably too luddite for my own good but i can't get my head around the mini LED jobbies.. They just look silly and aren't far enough apart for my liking. Cheers!
Bought the chrome tail light & looks the part but it doesn’t light up the number plate with standard plate holder. Disappointing considering you already have to drill a couple of holes and buy the wiring connectors to fit the light.
Great that you are offering lowering shocks. That has been one of my hesitations about getting one. I am used to my Viragos at seat height of 27 inches. 28 to 30 inch would help on the Interceptor. How much do your shocks drop seat height? Thanks, Ronn
Some interesting information on your videos, I do like your headlamp brackets and adjustable levers. I also would change the exhaust pipes and silencers for stainless units which would save a shed load of weight. I personally prefer the mudguard extensions left in place as I hate being covered in road crap when it's wet. One area that I do want to alter is the footrests and lever positions maybe taking them back to about the same position as on the GT. I would also like to fit the gear lever off the GT which would do away with three piss fit joints giving a more positive gear change
Really like some of the modifications I have the endfeld interceptor my issue is the foot brake too close to the engine case plus not enough adjustment .. Any advice
When we talk about gravel and potholes on our British roads it’s hard not to imagine it must be the 1920s and not the 2020s ! Without doubt it’s a bloody disgrace! Carry on sir, rant over!
Sump guard, bar risers, fat bars, rear lights and indicators. Very interested when will the parts be available? Not sure about the end cans, sound bit too noisy for my tastes.
Hi George, any chance of some pictures of the new silencers on the exhaust without the pipe wrap? I’ve got the bike on the way - just wondering how the junction between silencers and pipes looks.
Hi I will be getting the production version of these pipes in about a week and will do some pics with the stock chrome front pipes for our web shop listing when they go on sale
Love this channel and company, just need to buy a Triumph or RE now. Exhaust note sounds fantastic and the cans look perfect - rear light unit really clean and tidy. I think the factory seat looks a bit cheap but otherwise it's shaping up nicely. Love the street tracker look personally if you're going down that route.
Putting wider tyre is possible in 650 interceptor. If yes thn definitely want to see that.. do needful modification in front person leg rest. It's position is very awkward. All the best
Hi really interested in this build for the full scrambler look. How have the bar risers changed the riding position? I.E. is it just for looks or more comfort as well? :-)
Looking forward to seeing this develop 👌🏻 Seriously considering one of these... What about modding a Himalayan? I’m sure you could do something really special with one of those??
Collected my Interceptor yesterday, rode it home and fitted the TEC cans - they sound glorious, the sound quality in the video does them no justice!
Where did you get them? They are not on their site.
@@tokyosmash eBay UK - but they are on the TEC site - shop.tecbikeparts.com/products/cannon-slipons
It's nice hearing the spring blackbirds in the background. And it's very nice that, in my opinion, you make the best Interceptor parts in Europe.
This bike is growing on me! I testrode it a few weeks ago and it's a really good bike. And those bits and pieces TEC comes up with makes it so much more "wantable"! A smooth and yet faster pickup engine, small indicators and rearlight...well, you've all seen the film! Looks so good!
Loving this build series. Definitely interested in the taillight, marker adapters, and wiring.
I’ve noticed that the stock pipes sit below the level of frame, it would be great if your low level pipes sit higher than the frame so the lowest part of the bike becomes the frame. It would look good and make jacking nice and easy. Keep up the good work!
Really enjoying this project. Making me wanting to go and buy one. Looking forward to part 4

I used to ride a commando mark 3, I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the photo UA-cam photo, lovely sound to.
That tail light looks fantastic! What a cool bike.

The bike looks superb with the wider bars and them pipes sound absolutely amazing with the baffles taken out... 👊😎👍
Looks and sounds really nice...very interesting these RE's...MMmmm......
When are we going to see your customised interceptor Andy?
Its a beauty with a very good sound. Love it. Good Job!

Buying one this week. Eager to get started.

wow! awesome project! can't wait for the street scrambler look!
excellent Job.....testriding the Interceptor tomorrow, wondering if the dealer knows your work.
Needs a front fender extender to stop the filth getting flicked up & over sump guard 👍🏻
can't wait to get my hands on some of the stuff from your store !
That sounds epic with the new exhausts!
Great video series and I've been binge watching your previous videos.
All the upgrades are fantastic, however the cans could be shorter.
I will go for the scrambler look.
Cheers

We need parts in the USA 🇺🇸 patiently waiting. Great vid, thanks
some parts have just arrived in USA with more of the range soon

Looking good. Scrambler for sure!
I liked the black exhausts honestly. Excellent video, love to see the scrambler look.
Awesome slip ons George! Can't wait for Scrambler look!

Yes make them ...all of it, they and I will come! Also, great videos and solid info ...keep`me coming please! Cheers!
interesting concepts, can't wait to see a scrambled interceptor. following with great interest

Great work on the mods George & loving the Chevy truck 😀
Excellent! Love your YT channel.
Excellent as always and great to hear your reviews about the bike. I'm of the same opinion as below that shorter cans would be nicer, I guess its because the down pipes are so long? keep up the good work!
Yes we feel the need to junk the front pipes and make a full system to make it look and perform better
Hi great video.

Great looking tail light. Pls share the details / link
+1 for the Scrambler look! :) Great work
I really like your videos and mods - except the indicators..
Thanks, Ronn
awesome work! what's the brand of your exhaust? been trying to find one like that. Thanks
Awesome project, please develop the Interceptor into a Scrambler! :)
I like these custom tail lightd, it's neat n super
Where can I get these from? Please share any links if available!
great exhaust sound
Some interesting information on your videos, I do like your headlamp brackets and adjustable levers. I also would change the exhaust pipes and silencers for stainless units which would save a shed load of weight. I personally prefer the mudguard extensions left in place as I hate being covered in road crap when it's wet. One area that I do want to alter is the footrests and lever positions maybe taking them back to about the same position as on the GT. I would also like to fit the gear lever off the GT which would do away with three piss fit joints giving a more positive gear change
For the exhaust is it possible to have 2 into 1 system similar to Triumph ‘rebel’ with underpass pipe?
Change the halogen headlight to led or something and if possible do change the seat also..
Awesome video.. did you think of using Himalayan front suspension? I think that would make it a perfect scrambler..
A really good series of videos, some good work going on.
Really like some of the modifications
I have the endfeld interceptor my issue is the foot brake too close to the engine case plus not enough adjustment ..
Any advice
Nice video, The bike is looking better every time
When we talk about gravel and potholes on our British roads it’s hard not to imagine it must be the 1920s and not the 2020s ! Without doubt it’s a bloody disgrace! Carry on sir, rant over!
What an amazing work, I wonder is it possible to change the exhaust pipe of Triumph T100 to RE650 sir?
Any chance of a louvered sump guard? Just a passing thought!
How did u remove the rear mudguard ?? Because I found a problem with the wire going to the tail lamp...can u help me out?
Sump guard, bar risers, fat bars, rear lights and indicators. Very interested when will the parts be available? Not sure about the end cans, sound bit too noisy for my tastes.
fasthracing Wholehearted agree; it’s be great if you could buy a complete kit 👌🏻👍🏻
Hi, do you plan to make a windshield for the bike ? (i would be interested in medium or big ones). Great job already !
What u wrapped in exaust pipes...frm where we will get this and can we get info about dual silencer fixed in single muffer...?
What is the function of the tape on the pipes?
Hi George, any chance of some pictures of the new silencers on the exhaust without the pipe wrap? I’ve got the bike on the way - just wondering how the junction between silencers and pipes looks.
Hi
I will be getting the production version of these pipes in about a week and will do some pics with the stock chrome front pipes for our web shop listing when they go on sale
Is it possible to get rid of bagels from the stock exhaust on continental GT 650, can you please post a video on how if you do
Good work done
Love this channel and company, just need to buy a Triumph or RE now. Exhaust note sounds fantastic and the cans look perfect - rear light unit really clean and tidy. I think the factory seat looks a bit cheap but otherwise it's shaping up nicely. Love the street tracker look personally if you're going down that route.
Any idea what the weight saving is with new exhaust ???
I'm interested in the rear light.... Please put it into manufacture...
Yes we have them in stock, just waiting to make up the wiring adaptors so plug and play
@@TECBikeParts nice
Any updates on the Speed Twin?... Love your work on the RE would be interesting to see it with high-level exhaust.
Yes some more Speed twin parts ready on web-shop with more due soon
have you tuned the engine?
What screen do you have on the Triumph
Street Scrambler? The fitting looks better than Dart screens.
This bike could be a real Triumph slayer.
Can the pre-load adjusters be used with the stock fork springs?
yes we have the stock springs fitted
Massive thumbs ups 🤙🏻 it’s coming on, and I’m enthusiastically looking forward to seeing the flat-tracker look.
Thanks.
Looking forward to seeing this develop 👌🏻 Seriously considering one of these... What about modding a Himalayan? I’m sure you could do something really special with one of those??
Hi
The Himalaya is looking like it will be done by us soon as a lot of RE dealers have asked us for parts for them
TEC Bike Parts Awesome 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
And yes Scrambler look for me please!
