Man! There aren't many people who run their Dusenbergs up like that! That first gear whine is music to my ears! Thanks for strethcing her legs!!
The sound from the straight-8 and the transmission if beautiful.
The way this drives reminds me of my semi. Same gear whine, bottom end pull. She sounds awesome. This is why straight 8s rule.
Finally get to really HEAR a Duesenberg, and what a firebreather! Ah my heart at about 0:38! Was the cutout open, hard to imagine that bellowing in a sedate town car. Give me the dual cowl phaeton.
The guy can drive, no crunch the crash box, much skill and respect.
Well the sounds were terrific but the view from just under the horizon of the dash board reminded me of years long ago when I was a little tyke and couldn't see over the dash.
That sound is amazing :-)
My granddad decided to build his own duesenberg car in the early 50s made it a 10.5 liter thing does a quarter in like 11 second still have it. Awesome car.
Could easily handle today's traffic .
Beautiful sound. Made me goosebump.
Thank you for sharing this with us! Please post more! Not much out there when it comes to Duesenbergs/Auburns/Cords...
I can tell this car has lots of Muscle! It moves 3 tons of car w/o any effort! Even by todays standards they art fast!
@S W
Depending on the options ordered and the coach works that built the bodies they weighed from 2 1/2 to 3 tons, so weigh a few more and you'll find a 3 ton version.
@S W
Well let's just put it this way, unless you've weighed every Duesenberg ever made then you don't know do you?
So now you've gone from "I've weighed several" to "I know everything about how much every Duesenberg ever made weighs".
Ok.
Whether you like it or not there were 3 ton Duesenbergs that were made, the 1932 SJ is listed as weighing 5,750 lbs, that's 3 tons with your average fat rich guy in the driver's seat.
@S W
The last Duesenberg made had a 170" wheelbase and weighed 7,800 lbs, it held 10 passenger's which would have put it at well over 4 tons loaded.
@S W
3 ton SJ's and a 4 ton J, this hasn't worked out very well for you has it?
Luxury hot rod.
Wow, hearing that pull of 0:30 and the turbo kick in 7 seconds later made my spine tingle!
After a day of motoring, you'd be deaf but happy to be so xD
Correction, isn't turbocharged motor if is SJ model is a Supercharged (Kompresor im Deutsch aussprache).
Nice to see one being driven!
Open headers, baby!
Gorgeous.
The sound.... it's beautiful
ART IN MOTION!!! back when America had awesome cars
...built by german engineers.
Beyond cool!
powerful nostalgic car 😎👍
This car was the fastest in the world... it so fast that it even bent and squeeze the time and matter,you can see it bending the mirror and the dashboard
SSJ was faster with 400hp
This one has “only” 320hp
Très bonne voiture française
nice
Love that mechanical music. Why would anyone want to put a towncar body on one of these when there were Packard V12s around? A Victoria, Roadster or Phaeton in perfect. (or an SSJ...) Leno says they had to start using a transmission designed for trucks!
I thought he was going to pull in auto zone.....super cool car
Tem que dar 2 tempos na embreagem pra trocar as marchas
Cómo suena ese super cargador parece un trailer😨
Sounds knackered
It sounds like a truck!
It's called double clutch
Звучит , как ЗиЛ 130)
Fantastik! Делал публикацию о SJ на русском autobelyavcev.ru/duesenberg-jsj/ обожаю машины такого типа.
Fuck Ferraris and Lambos. If I get rich i'm gonna get myself a Duesenberg.
This guy is a filthy bi...I mean rich.
Slowly
very interes zzzzz
Speedometer is in the wrong format... not very American is it?
