This was my introduction to BTS. The first thing I ever heard was Joon saying "welcome is this your first time with BTS?" And I've been whipped every damn day since.

Same. I remember clicking this video not having any jdea about anything. I was hooked after this video. The cinematography and choreography and everything was perfect and like nothing i had seen before. I loved it and started watching others reactions to this video. The started thd loooong loooong road to being an army PASSIONATELY.
This was also the first video that sent me down the rabbit hole!

BTS actually designed those BT21 characters. There is multiple videos of BTS drawing and consulting with the merch company to have a story, personalities, powers, etc. You should react to those videos, they are not only fun to watch but they show you how creative they are.
Start with the video of BTS creating BT21. There are a total of 8 characters & they are purposely genderless although you will hear many default to identifying them as he/him when they are actually they/them.

DAD, this is the song where BTS found me four years ago. I fell head first into the rabbit hole. 🤣🤣 From there I found out every thing I could about them. Jimin with red hair was "hittin" Please watch the Grammy performance of BUTTER 🔥🔥 also watching MAMA 19 is a must. It is about 45 mins long but it is worth it. You will be amazed at their awards shows compared to ours. ARMY GRANDMA checking out 💜💜

BT21 is a collab with Line Friends. You can use those terms to look up the merch. Each member designed their own characters, and they all have their own story. Shooky is an angry chocolate chip cookie. LOL
RM is Koya, a sleepy Koala
Jin is RJ, an Alpaca who loves to cook and eat
Suga is Shooky, who loves to play pranks
j-hope is Mang, a dancing Squirrel/chipmunk, but he started out as a masked dancer in a horse mask and then the character later revealed his true face.
Jimin is Chimmy, a puppy in a hoody
V is Tata, a heart headed alien with a shapeshifting body
Jungkook is Cooky, a muscle bunny
There is also a robot which is also Tata's spaceship and it's name is Van and it represent ARMY.
There is also another set of small, chibi avatars of BTS called Tiny Tans (as in Tiny Bangtans)
There are animated shorts, mobile games and merch with both BT21 characters, and Tiny Tan characters.

😂 when we suggested to watch the explanation videos we meant to watch it after you watch the music video so the MV meaning would make more sense. We love to watch the all aspects of a song, lyrics, music video, explanation video, the behind the scenes video, the dance practices and live performances of a song. I said performances because there are multiple live performances of a song that are so different from each other because they change up the background music and it makes the song so different from the music video.

Yes, definitely after. It would spoil it to watch it first, but it also spoils it to never watch them and not ever really understand what you watched.
We? I think reaction videos with all that stuff are way too long. I go for the part where the reactor shows astonished delight or puzzlement the way Dad does here, they are the most fun. I would hate if he knew everything already. All that other stuff I can look up on my own, besides, it's often not rocket science. If you were to take art appreciation or literature classes, you start with the work first.

The benefit of explanation videos is mainly when a MV has a lot of Korean cultural references or a lot of literary references, like blood sweat & tears or Ddaeng. That’s how we had to learn what some of the songs meant also. No shame in that. Watch the explanation video after the video if you find you just didn’t get it or you know you missed something or ARMY tells you to. 😋

Hi dear. 68yo ARMY here. I'd love to see you react to some more of their dance practice videos. Their Mic Drop dance practice video is five minutes of nonstop choreography and some of their most complex choreography as well.

Hi! I'm loving watching your videos. I've been ARMY since 2017 and I really enjoy watching new people discovering BTS and becoming ARMY too. You mentioned Namjoon's dimples in a previous video so I thought I'd let you know BTS has a song named Dimple that Namjoon wrote. Perhaps watch the music video and then the explanation video straight after with us viewers, we live for the lightbulb moments when things make sense after the explanation. Spring Day is an example of this, but please watch the Italian explanation video as it is much more in depth.

Some reactors watch the MV or lyric video, or both if they really want to concentrate on lyrics first and the song has both an MV and a lyric video. Then they watch an explanation video, if they feel the song needs it. Then they watch a live performance - all in the same UA-cam reaction. It gives a really well-rounded experience of the song and performance. It's totally not necessary to do all that, but we would enjoy it.
Some of the reason explanation videos are helpful:
* Language barrier - a lot is lost in translation like idioms, cultural references, callbacks to BTS' other music or history, etc.
* The visuals on their MVs are deep and detailed and there is no way you will pick up on all of it without help.
* Layered storytelling - Their songwriting is next level and if you love depth of lyricism, explanations help you understand that.
Except for the lyric video part, I concur and recommend everything else you said. Instead of lyric video he could perhaps grasp better through Doolset translations. Doolset not only translates, but explaines nuances and cultural references and much more.

I recommended lyric videos not for the lyrics as much for being able to take the song in sonically without distraction on first listen. It helps a lot of people to do that. UA-cam channel Dial6137 has good lyrics videos with accurate English content.

I enjoy watching your video's. I'm 63 and I love these boys. They've worked so hard and have accomplished so much because of it, and have shown the haters what GREAT really is. They are truly loved by so many. For mother's day, I received a gift from my daughter, BTS small figurines in their IDOL outfits. I have them on my work desk, so they're with me as I work and my day is better because of them, as silly as that may seem. And when I'm down, I look at BTS videos, they lift me up. It would of been beneficial if you could of started with their earlier songs like, No more dreams or We are bulletproof pt 2. You always need to start at the beginning to understand the present. Don't forget the Run episodes and In the Soop. They also did Rookie king and American hustle life.

I’m sure someone already mentioned this but with almost every music video you watch from BTS they have a dance practice and a behind the scenes videos you can also watch. Thought it might be nice for you to add one or both of those to your videos to lengthen your reactions plus it gives you so much of a fuller picture.
