- This video is about installing the 2nd Generation Philips Luxeon ZES chip LED Head lights with removable heat sink and halogen bulb design (with cut off shield) in low beam.
The advantage of this new led head light
1) The weather shield can be used as like halogen bulb, in previous model due to the fan and fixed heat sink weather shield cannot be fixed on the housing
2) The Focus, Light Pattern on low beam and high beam of the head light is Good, similar to halogen bulb. No stray light ( glaring opposite vehicle ).
3) The LED chips are positioned in Horizontal line, in previous model the led chips are placed vertically hence it was difficult to focus the head light ( only 60% of focus is achieved)
4) No Fan on the heat sink, in pervious model when the head lights are on, the Humming noise from the fan can heard inside the cabin.

I have the exact same model installed in my 1994 Lancer. It works fine with the original rubber seal. I have installed since 2016 and still working today. The light is very bright. Fully recommended because you can turn to adjust the light angle to get the best beam pattern.

You will need aftermarket Led headlight assembly for the Led bulb to actually perform to its full range meaning just changing the bulbs wont help the visibility nor the range.
However the bulb will still work and stay cool.
Hi, Yes you are correct, the reflectors for the LED are entirely different, it need to be more precise according the bulb length, so that we get the correct focus, range and anti-glare. WheelKlub, Is the rubber seal working fine with the heat sink? I'm concerned about melting it. As i know the heat sink are pretty damn hot.
Would be more convincing if you had a night image of light.
WheelKlub, in this video I noticed that your rubber boot did not have a tight fit around the bulb. Do you think this will let in moisture or does the heat sink tighten up around the rubber boot creating a waterproof seal?

Hi Jason, The Rubber boot (Weather shield) hold the bulb tightly, The heat sink behind the rubber boot tightens it with the buld and create a tight water proof seal.

Positives of LED:
LED head lights switches ON instantly, Lower head output so no fading of front headlight housing and reflector,
Negatives of LED
The LED light dose not have good contrast ( Density) when compared to Halogen, The Led light should be Precisely focused to get good lighting, or it will give a shatter output.
I didn't check it on the Rainy weather, If i have the chance i will update it.

Hi, I have these same bulbs in the 9007 size and I carefully adjusted to give good beam pattern. I will tell you in the rain that it performs just like any other light. If the road is smooth and covered in water the light will reflect away from you just like with halogen so it is no better or worse in that regard. The led DOES have the advantage with brighter output showing the white stripes and sides of road. So overall I do see better in the rain than with my old halogen.

Hi Nico Buniotto, The MZ series is with fan, You cannot use your weather shield( the back protective cover), MZ is 6000k and little bit Brighter than ZES chips 6500k (light output is little blueish), The Luxeon is without fan, removable heat sink, easy to fit, Halogen like design so good light output alignment. I will post a comparison video of MZ and ZES today. you can get a clear idea.
My advice is to go for ZES, But now ZES is available kelvin is 6500k , Wait for the correct color temperature (kelvin) available in the market between 4500k to 6000k, these will output more white light. Greater than 6000k it will be in blue tint, ( Our eyes are not adapted for blue tint, more strain for eyes if using for long hours ).

Hi friend, These led bulbs produce very less heat when compared to Halogen bulbs almost 30 to 40% less heat. So you don't need to worry about melting. As you said Your Car Head light is made up of Glass so it will NOT melt. You can see my other videos about Temperature of LED in my Chanel, so you may get an idea.

This is a H4 Type, this is a generic (UN-branded) (made in china), This pattern (design) was first created by Philips but with less power and brightness. You can find a lot these type of bulbs in amazon and ebay.

Yes you can fit this bulb in pajero sfx model ( bull dog ) shape ( the model shown in this video is 2012) , After fixing the bulb on the head light, cover the bulb with weather shield ( black rubber ) and now fix the heat sink to the bulb.

Well, the video looks incomplete. there is no product details, buying options, price, results after installation and recommendations. I would recommend "Night eye" LED's if this is expensive. It's very similar to this. But results are amazing and unbelievably shocking. Very bright and wide focus without HID kit. Try it, thank me later!

As for now Halogen is better, Very few LED bulbs have achieved 70% of Halogen bulb light spread, light beam pattern etc..
Are there similar LED bulbs for H3? I have some H3 driving lights I'd like to convert to LED. They use 50watt H3s, is there any way to convert them to say, 100watt or 150watt illumination equivalents without having to deal with the extra heat and power requirements?

Even though watts play major role in brightness. Illumination depends upon Good Quality LED chip and perfectly positioned (aligned ) bulbs illuminate better.
Led bulbs produce 30 % to 50 % less heat. If your current bulb is 55 watts Halogen. For sure you can install 50 to 80 watts led bulbs.
Before buying H3 LED consider the following,
1) If your Head light is a Projector you will get good light output,
2) Check for the extra space behind the holder as most of the led have bigger heat sink and fan.

This Philips lumiled Luxeon LED chip H4 Head Light with Removable Heat Sink shown in this video, consumes very less watts and generate less heat when compared to STOCK HALOGEN bulb (55/60) watts. Make sure that you are not voiding the vehicle warranty. As some car manufacture do not allow any changes in electrical.
You can see my Temperature comparison Halogen vs led videos in my channel.
If you buy other type of H4 LED, Check the watts ( Maximum watts bulbs per led bulb now in the market are 55 watts). Even they say 55 watts ( some chines makes ) do not consume 55 watts will be less like 15 to 20% .
My advice is try the bulb for few minutes. Monitor the wire temperature, if the wires get very hot like melting (getting soft). My advice is not to use. If every thing is ok then it is fine.

I see you installed this on a pajero. I have the same car I bought aome of these make was phillips with a fan in the heatsink. the thing is when I turn the headlights on the high beam comes on when dipped then the the low and the high comes on with the full beam. any ideas standard H4 connections and works with standard bulbs ok.

I have a Duster technology Road and bought A PAIR super Lamp LED, however the cooler was Inside the lighthouse, WHETHER OR, a headlight sealing rubber can NOT make a seal with the refrigerator forums to. Had Any idea How can I proceed? The fact that the heat will Stay Inside Lighthouse forums and NOT because the cooler will NOT POWER dissipate heat out.

Even the HALOGEN bulbs produce MORE HIGH HEAT. so the heat produced by led is not a problem. Please be careful to cover the headlight housing as usual, so no water or moisture will not enter.

All aftermarket LED headlights are just for show. It will NOT have the throw or the distance as halogens nevermind HIDs simply because your factory housing isn't designed for LEDs

This is a H4 Bulb used in reflector type headlights, I dont know the type of bulb used in Creta, (it should be h7, again not sure :) ) you can verify with your car manual book or with a car technician, For Projector head lights like in Hyundai Creta there some LED head lights in the market now, but i am not sure how much light they output,.

I know this reply is late but the Creta aka ix25 uses hb3 9005 bulbs in the housing. I would recommend Osram HIDs instead of LEDs. You will have to drill holes in the cover but the kit will have rubber seals so no problem. I bought multiple led lamps from Aliexpress and none of them fits without removing the cover.

Jose Escobar, Can you please check the way the bulb are placed, Generally we all do a simple mistake by placing the bulb in opposite direction , the correct position is the low beam shield should face upwards, the led chips on the top and the shield below,
( i do make this kind of mistake some time ). I will post a video for you in two days, It may help you.
Second point is FOCUS, if it is not focused properly, you may get a very wide pattern of light , kind of distorted.

If your Car Hyundai i20 Elite is with H4 type Headlight bulb, You can use this LED bulb shown in the video WITHOUT any cutout ( Hope you are meaning a special wiring kit used for HIGHER watts bulbs like 100/90 etc as CUTOUT), these LED bulbs consumes only 20 watts half the power (watts) of the Company fitted bulbs 50/55 watts.

This set has no extern metal/plastic box for reconnection.. It connects straigth , it has 6 diodes on each side of the bulb giving it 12 diodes 24 in totalt. Philips has 24 diodes..

But my experience is that its not much better than the 5 dollar bulb... Im not shure if it is,,, it didnt have the external box... I dont know the purpose of this box. Saw your LED bulb from the link you have given, The bulb design are good, But the led chips are less when compared to the bulb i show in my video, Your each bulb contains 12 led chips ( six on each side , Three for LOW beam and 4 for HIGH beam), but in my led bulb are with 16 led chips.
Your LED chips are not likely to be PHILIPS ZES ( may be a low cost chines chips). Because Your bulb is missing the box ( Dc to DC controller ) Chines low cost chips will work without the BOX ( without controlling the power supply).
The BOX is to control the current from the vehicle to bulb at fixed Amps/watts, Some bulb may contain it inside the bulb (behind the bulb ) But in your bulb it is not there.
My opinion is, your bulb will produce a bluish light, Which is not good for driving, try use a HALOGEN for now.
If your planing buying next time, Try to find the best bulb with CREE or PHILIPS chips , if you need any help in selecting the bulb send me the link i will give my opinion.

Im planning to get this one, I have to pay 50 british pund for 1 bulb, thats 30 for the bulb and 20 for the shipping... Pluss 25% when it arrives to norway plus another 15 punds in toll. That will cost me 77 british punds for 1 bulb.
So If i could buy it from china for below 35 british punds.. SHipping is free to norway.... 35 punds is the limit in norway before the extra tax kicks inn. I need the rotatinng cooler not the loose bayonett. Cuz ive already broke off a peace in my reflector on the yamaha yzf600r Thundercat... I dont think the Mz chip newer model will fit into the thundercat. Seems to be a good motorcycle option in semi racers, with thigth spaces...

Hi, Some bulbs come with External Circuit Box and in some with latest model the circuit is built in,
Bulb with Built in Circuit :
Pros :
1) Occupies less space, If you have cramped space then you can try built in circuit bulb
2) No messy wires..
Cons :
1) The bulb with built in circuit board produce more heat,
2) It should be with a cooling fan built in to with stand the temperature of the light and circuit board
3) If not ventilated properly the heat produced by the led may effect the Circuit board, it may reduce the life span of the bulb
Bulb with External circuit :
Pros :
1) The circuit is protected from the led generated heat.
2) The over all life span is not effected by heat.
3) Bulbs without fan can work.
Cons:
1) Hanging External Circuit box , Need little more space. ( nowadays the circuit box are very smallv)

Tengo un mazda 3 2015, y la iluminación es un asco. Instalé unos bulbos de led de 4500Lm tanto en alta como en baja pero no mejoró mucho la luz por la temperatura del led (6500K). Los cambié por otros, de 4000Lm con chip Philips en baja pero de 5000K, y en alta con chip Cree de 6000Lm aunque de 6500K, y la luz baja mejoró mucho, la alta aunque es más intensa por ser azulosa se disemina. Estoy por ponerle en alta de 4000Lm pero de 5000K.

+scruz99 No, es blanca, y te da la mejor iluminación. Al aumentar el azul en la luz disminuye el contraste y la visibilidad. Lo que haré más adelante es un retrofit, le voy a quitar las lupasque trae de fábrica y le voy a adaptar unas Mini H1 en 4300K,esas tienen muy buena salida de luz.

Power supply from the alternator is good, did you see the same flicker in other bulbs like parking lights, break lights and reverse light?. Can you please check the above said and update with your vehicle make and year, so that we can have an idea.

Maruti Baleno Delta model's are with H4 Halogen Configuration, If it is H4 (kindly confirm the bulb type with your manual booklet ) You can use this bulb, ( please check for some space behind the bulb ). Current market price of the bulb is 23$ (USD) around 1500 Rupees.

There bulb are chines made, the LED chips are Philips, They produce a decent amount of light on the road, Still NOT a 100% match or equivalent to 100 watts Halogen, Still the light Penetration (piercing ) the dark is not enough, and the color temperature is above 6000k to 6500k(which outputs a bluish light), It will be better when it is at 5300k to 5600k ( this is what a bright sun light color kelvin and our eyes used to it).
I am using it for past 8 to 9 months still now it is working fine..

Thank you, I bought this H4 Led on ebay. its been more than eight months since i bought this. Now there are many updated bulbs available, Please search for H7 LED bulbs on ebay.com sure you will find lots of H7 bulbs with different watts and kelvin ( colour). You can select your choice

how to h4 to oem h13 jk headlight? Bought. KC converting harness & h4 Phillips racing vision bulbs for replacement of my oem h13 bulbs but the h4 won't fit . how to fix this to install or do I go by some h13 bulbs?

H4 bulb won't fit to the kc HiLites conversion kit or to the Headlight holder.

This is a H4 headlight bulb you cannot you this type bulb in Honda Civic 2011, There will be two bulbs on Each side on Honda civic., The bulb type should be H7. If you need I can check and let you know what type is used in Honda Civic.

Yes Your are correct, Older generation led are like to be used in Projectors, but these new type bulbs are designed to be used in reflector housing, The recent led chips from CREE are designed with a silicon (lens)beeds to give a diffuse effect like Halogen bulbs, But still not 100 % perfect. What ever type the of LED it maybe, If it is used on a projector we well get a proper aligned, controlled light pattern.

and i neef the led bulbs in which i can change the colour and temprature of the led from white to yellow, such leds are all wheather led and i can drive my car with ease in dense fog too, which is common in northern india, if have any knowledge bout such budget let pls let me know
