- The fifth generation KAAN fighter jet made in Turkey successfully completed its second flight on Monday. This marks another milestone in Türkiye's efforts to improve its air force and curb dependence on foreign countries.
KAAN took off on Monday morning and was successfully airborne for 14 minutes, reaching an altitude of 10,000 feet and a speed of 230 knots, according to a statement by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB).
“Today, we are witnessing another important day in Turkish aviation history and Turkish defense history,” said SSB Chief Haluk Görgün, as he met with test pilots and the project team.
“This flight, like the first, was very successful. "The data obtained on this flight will be evaluated by the entire team, and preparations for the next flight will continue," said Görgün.
Turkey launched the TF-X project to produce a national fighter aircraft in 2016. Turkish Aerospace (TA) signed a deal with Britain's BAE Systems worth 125 million USD in 2017 to develop the next generation fighter jet. - Наука та технологія

@history_repeats8201 The heat it emits should be low, it should have super cruise characteristics and since the plane is large and very heavy, it should have a powerful engine. The engines you mentioned cannot meet these requirements. Even the F35 engine does not have a super cruise feature. It can't go super sonic without using an arc burner. These engines were given for trial purposes anyway. It doesn't matter. Its own engine is currently in production. Until then, these engines will only be used for tests.

This situation was explained as the host computer's reaction to low speed and low pressure, but this situation disappeared in the second flight. That's why test flights are being done anyway.

Actually BAE systems DID NOT collaborate on the Kaan. The collaborated on the TF600 an after burning jet engine which will eventually go in the Kaan fighter jet.
No bae systems dont make engine rolls royce does and they didnt help with the engine! Bae systems helped with the design in the beginning not anymore
When the project started, there were areas where there was a shortage of engineers, so help was obtained, but this is not a factor affecting the design and development. There is no British contribution in the core engine TF6000 either. There are 2 more engine projects and one of those projects is being carried out together with the British.
