Great video. Great design. Awesome tips about placement of bucket hole and drilling holes in the lid to prevent vacuum effect. Only thing I would change is to have the piping clear if possible. Easier to see if the system needs flushing out rather than waiting for a blockage to occur.
The best way to stop Algae from growing in a clear tube rack system is to put a little blue food coloring in the water. When u do this your putting a different light spectrum in the water making it much much harder for the algae to grow.
When do you consider them weaned? When they reach a certain age or weight? Our rats will hit about 45-50 grams in about 3 weeks which is the size of a weaned rat but dont they have to go until 5 weeks old?
HI i am thinking about building a watering system like that for my rats. It is going to be for one huge cage that will hold a couple hundred rats. I know i need a bucket, the t bracket, and vari flow valves is that all i need or do i need anything else.
I have to call ag select tomorrow because I went to place an order and it says shipping it’s $250 that doesn’t seem right haha and we’re 4 hours away from the facility
hello, I live in France and I breed mice. I use the moment baby bottles for rodents but I find having binding fill both days. I wish to know if you could send me a link where I can find the same model as yours. If it is not possible is it for you possible to give me the exact name of the pipettes? Thank you in advance. Tim.
what was the cost on this entire setup though the site you used ? ( I'm assuming you're in the states ? so USD? ) I'm in Canada but could do the conversion
Great work Justin. this is the best D.I.Y rodent rack that I've seen to date. If you can find the time to post a link for the tubs. tubes and straps for the tubes and a link for the nipples it will be greatly appreciated. again great video and thanks for sharing....Peace
Just over 11 years later and watched a video on your current facility earlier today. Congrats on the growth!
Perfect, just the video I need. Collection grows and so does the feeder racks.
great rack! the plumbing looks really good, i love how you drill a hole for the piping to go through it
Beautiful work! I love how clean and nice it looks. Great job! Hello from Texas!
EXCELLENT video. Very informative. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

You should consider plumbing a Camelbak Hydrolink into the bucket. It's a quick-release fitting, and I believe it's the same size as your tubing.
Very well done if you don't mind me asking how much did you spend all together?
You local Lowes hardware might have the tubing. Great video.
