Brian & Clara - Los Angeles | Home Coffee Brewing with April #27

- This week, we’re bringing you the latest video from a series that we call Home Coffee Brewing with April. This time around, we’re joining Brian and Clara out in the hills and valleys surrounding Los Angeles.
We believe that innovation in coffee brewing starts at home, and that some of the most special and meaningful interactions with coffee can take place within your own kitchen.
As we are frequently travelling visiting our international partners, we decided to introduce this format as a way to interact with you on a different level whilst maintaining the frequency of our videos.
In this video, Brian and Clara brew a Natural Ethiopian coffee from Regessa using their camping and hiking set-up. This involves a Comandante Grinder, an April Plastic Brewer, a Jetboil Stove and some approximate measurements as they keep things simple, choosing to brew without a stove.
Thanks to Brian and Clara for taking us into nature and sharing their brewing technique with us and with the channel.

The hike just to go there and was well worth the experience in addition to the brew ritual :)
It's a beautiful area just north of LA, about a 30 minute drive from Kumquat.
Love these conversations as always. Would you be able to share the name of the hike/trail?
Thank you for watching. It's a beautiful area just north of LA, about a 30 minute drive from Kumquat.
This is a terrific background!
Brewing coffee outdoor is always a great experience. Do you ever try it?
@@coffeewithapril I've brewed coffee outdoors but never on a camping or hiking trip, so I just took my normal setup to the park.
The boy and the bear🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 they have so many delicious coffees I still have some of the Esmeralda gesha from last year I’m hoarding in vacuum seal 😂
Exactly, that's great to hear. Esmeralda coffee is always a good thing.
😊
I brewed the same coffee used in this video this morning. Do you have any tips for brewing it with a v60 instead of the april brewer? Or should I just get an april brewer haha
You could just get an April Brewer... But if you are using an V60 we have some great recipes on this channel as well. They are a bit old at this point but they still hold up well.
If you for example are doing a 12/200 brew we would recommend pushing 4 pours at 50g with an even amount of time in between each pour.
This makes me want to take a hike and brew some coffee!
It's a great combination. Do you have any favourite way to brew outdoor?
Hallo saya dari INDONESIA.Senang bisa menonton channel kalian.Suasana di situ indah sekali.
Thank you for watching.
I live in Michigan, but, getting, say, Rolf's coffees, are next to impossible. All the Scandanavian coffees I have had have been when friends have brought back while travelling abroad. So, I have got a local roaster to roast some Scandanavian style light roasts. In fact I am drinking a Washed Ethiopian roaster Scandanavian style coffee that I brewed in one of Rolf's April brewer
That's great. How is it tasting?
Great!!!:):):)@@coffeewithapril
How are you.brian
