I got tears in my eyes after watching this in a country like India where everyone is mad for cricket she proved herself , I still remember when I used to watch Olympics with my father he always says India will be out in first round of table tennis match but today watching her defeating a Chinese player really a proud moment for all of us

Epic, and one of the best matches I've seen this year. You could really appreciate Batra's tactics and twiddling skill, in a game that's biased towards Chen's skillset. Sets 2-4 were probably the best I've ever seen Batra play; Chen deserves a lot of credit for fighting all the way to a seventh game. Bravo Manika! If she keeps this level up she could win the tournament.
Its great to see Manika getting her long pips to work, after the last few tournaments, I did feel that she was limiting herself thanks to her commitment to playing style. However, what this iterates is that when she does have the confidence, as shows in her body language, she can make it work and how.
The way she twists her bat is insane! So quick, unnoticeable and smart!
Who would have thought THIS would happen!!! What an incredible achievement by Manika! 🏓😀

Congrats to Manika Batra. Very clever and cool!
One of the best performances by Manika in recent times after a string of bad performances in Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and World team table tennis. It's not easy to win against a top 10 player from China. Her blocking and forehand top spin were out of this world in this match. She needs to get a killer serve up her arsenal that the likes of Mima Ito and Ding Ning possess. Now let's see if she can keep up her performances to beat the top players like Chen Meng, Sun Yingsha and Mima Ito. Only time will tell but this is a good start for Manika.

Manika batra very well played, the tricky, curvy back hand push and block push with amazing forehand aggression is really awesome 👍
MB has improved considerably especially in counter forehand attacks and step around forehand topspins. There is bite in her defence now.
Many of her Indian countrymen were criticizing her in the comments during the previous tourno saying she doesn't deserve her place in Indian National team and that she should go back to modeling. I wonder what they are saying now?

Chen xington is in her greatest form of Life where she can beat her own top ranked team mates. It was painful to see she was having lot of trouble while playing those backhand due to unusual slow paced flight that batra was generating on the backhand. Batra's forehand was a lot quicker than xington. I am shocked to see Chen losing at the same time delighted that Batra pulled it off from the start.
Not a huge fan of batra as seen too many losses in straight sets and many matches where she is seen doing damage control. This could be her life changing moment to let that inner true athelete to come out.

Can't understand exactly from the video, is Batra playing some sort of tight chop-block on every backhand? It seems like a punch but with some backspin on it. Very effective and fast because it hits right after the bounce, so no wonder it can put pressure on the adversary.
Chen usou pouco o forehand, nos momentos que usou, ele fez a diferença. Foi conservadora demais, poderia ter tentado cansar a indiana com combos de forehand e backhand. Enfim, parabéns para a Bartra que jogou de forma incrível hoje, bela performance 👏👏👏

Batra played well but she doesn't take pressure very well. As soon she was was leading with 3-1 she should have played more freely. But as soon as her opponent gained some points she came under pressure. I hope she plays more freely. Her combos were good. May she keeps improving
Her style is limited, if she gets too eager she loses rhythm and her equipment is not very forgiving. She should stick to her game plan and she will be ok.

特に反転技術を駆使して、裏ソフトでフォア・バック攻撃が見事だった。
スピード面からもカットマンが反転してバック攻撃するより、かなり反転技術が難しいが、見事な攻撃力。
異質ラバーのバトラーの活躍で女子卓球が久しぶりに面白かった‼️

I am a long pips player with usatt rating 2300+. She just need to be a little bit more consistent to beat the top Chinese player.
Even if she improves her consistency, it still won't be enough to beat the top Chinese because they can attack pips . That's why her ranking is still in 30's.

@@philippe8481 too much variation in terms of equipment. Yes, these are pro players who have trained to be able to face on anything. But because these variations are a rarity in professional play, it can sometimes be viewed as a cheat code to win against players who don't expect it. Plus, no other racket sport has this level of variation in terms of equipment

Chen is usually a hugely better player than Batra, but even the best players can have incredibly bad days. Normally, on any given day, she should totally outclass and destroy Batra. Chen probably played the worst match of her life by far, but still lost by the narrowest of margins! So, as strange as this may seem, this is actually yet another proof of her overwhelming superiority over Batra!
