    Wow watching all her videos makes me realize how terrible your "everyday" nail salons do nails. Most of them are all about how fast you can do someone's nails without putting making them natural and long-lasting into thought

      That's the main reason why I don't get manicures any more. The techs I've been to have always been rough on my hands and they chatter with each other and make me feel quite uncomfortable.

      Agreed, even the quality of the professional salons don't come anywhere near Suzie's standard and they charge a fortune. Just wish I could find a descent nail tech :-(

      Same here! The nail tech I used to see (who actually did nails right and took her time) moved to Florida, and when I tried 3 different nail techs in other salons they just did a terrible job and were so expensive =( I do my own nails now but I'm not a professional, and it's disappointing that I have to do them myself when I would be willing to pay someone to do a better job but there's no one I found who I trust to do them right T__T

    Been watching Suzie for like 6 or 7 years now and have learned so much about acrylic (saved my nails on one hand with those skills, a story for another day) but this is my favorite suzie video. The way she teaches is just so excellent, and I really appreciate someone that finds a different way to do something and accepts that it can work well too. That’s the sign of a true educator and professional

    Every nail tech in every salon should watch your videos to see how it’s done. It should be mandatory training. I cannot tell the difference between your nails and natural nails. French is also my favorite design of all time; I love the square but whichever you’re doing, it looks like a natural nail. The cuticle, the tips, everything, with this exception; perfection.

    When I go to the salon or use to go, they would always cut my skin. One time after I left I had 6 out of 10 fingers cut. They also would take a tip and run it under the acrylic to get it off. It was so painful and it tore up my nails. I've sense started doing my own nails. Suzie if I had you in my area I'd go to you. Lol.

      That is horrifying! I'm sorry you had that experience. I'm currently a nail tech student, and we've been learning a lot about how salon services should NEVER hurt and what not to do. I've had several people come to me for simple services like pedicures who were butchered in the past, and are stunned when I show them how simple and easy it is to perform their service without hurting them at all!

      +WereWolf689 A reverse French is just a different method of doing a French design, looks the same as a transitional French. In the reverse French, you make the smile line with the pink first, then add the white. Or whatever colour you're using.

    love your excitement when you try something new! please do a video on how to remove glitter nail polish, it might seem simple to some but everytime i wear it, whether alone or ontop of another polish, the glitter is a pain to get off and takes ages to just get rid of it from even one finger! (the polishes i use will just get rid of the colour in the glitter, leaving it silver or white, then when i think i am done with getting that part off, theres still some i end up picking off with nails as its easier but i know not better)

      +DominosAndHearts another tip if u can't get those products which is what I do is apply polish remover on a pad (make sure u flood the pad with remover & use non acetone if u have enhancements on. Place the pad on ur nail & then wrap ur finger with a lil silver foil & make sure it's wrap up tight. We call it Alfoil here in Australia so I'm not sure what u call it. Anyways after a 3-4 mintues u can take the foil off & just give u nails a lil wipe with the pad & the glitter comes straight off. I know this method 'may' sound like a lot of effort but I assure you that it's MUCH quicker than the method u do (that we've all done at one stage in our life, lol). This method takes approx 7 minutes for all 10 nails & that includes the time ur nails are in foil for. I hope this helps aswell :)

      As she's putting down the product she says she's leaving a gap or "gully" for the white smile line of the french tip. It disappears when she files because she files away the natural nail to meet the acrylic.

And yes after watching many do both ways, especially the reverse one which you did now, and I can see why it it easier. Especially for students. Also because you allready put down the foundation, the pink, and the rest is add on and smoothing. I almost missed this video, but I always love going back and watch all your videos to learn so I saw this one. Happily excited;)

    Some of the best french tips I've seen as well as a spectacular job on acrylics! Very impressed that you advocate for a thinner nail (it doesn't make them better or stronger). I had a hard time finding anyone who would make mine thinner than they wanted to....but I couldn't pick up anything! That was highly annoying and thusly I only did acrylics a handful of times just to see what it was like. You would make BANK here! I'm so glad I found your channel yesterday, this is so educational already!

      Marine Chandler What's the point of a nasty comment like that?? It's rude and immature! If you don't like it then fine, but there is no reason to be snotty. I love that she tried something that no one else would do and it worked! YAY! Some people including myself like to experiment and see if something works and if it doesn't then it doesn't, that is exactly how new techniques are figured out all the time. She was just trying something, it might not be a technique that you would want to try and that's fine. If you don't like the way she does things then don't watch. That way you can stick to those other channels you mentioned and be happy with the content! Good Luck and God Bless:)

      She has a camera man, and a clear vision of how she wants her videos to look. She's got lighting mastered and a uniform video format. Her audio is great too. You can do it as a one man show. But you'll have to put forth effort and foresight. You can find lots of free online tutorials, I recommend lynda.com for courses photography, editing, lighting, etc. I just subscribed to your channel. Your videos look good. I'd recommend lighting and audio enhancements. Anyhow, hope I'm not over stepping my bounds and your question wasn't rhetorical - lol :-) Good luck!

      You absolutely can! Depending on the color, and the opacity, you can even paint over a design, or nails that have colored acrylic (for instance, if you had an acrylic nail set that used blue acrylic, you could still easily paint over that). The best nail polishes to use are the creamy, smooth nail polishes because they will give you the best result and coverage. :-)

    • @kkendrasmithh
      @kkendrasmithh 7 років тому +2

      Music Queen216 yeah you can. When I get acrylics I always get clear ones with a gel clear topcoat and then I will be able to do my own designs and everything and change them whenever. I don't like having the same nails over like 5 days. Lol. Just make sure you use non acetone nail polish remover. If you use one with acetone it will ruin the acrylic.

    Last month for my friends wedding I got fake nails for the first time ever. I just got white tips. I've always had perfect long natural nails. They cut my nails, and then shaved about 1mm of natural nail with the carbite (?) bit, then after applying the acrylic in about 30 seconds for both hands they took the drill and basically cut my cuticles. I was horrified, the other girls had no issue that they could see (they did 10 girls in an hour with 4 "techs") I took a photo to send to my sister who is training in a proper salon and she and the owner was shocked. The photo showed my cuticles bleeding and even now my nail is stained with blood. I also got an infection in every finger. Even now as I'm trying to make my nails healthy again as the new nail grows you can see & feel the difference between the two. Is it worth you doing a video to earn against these "salons"? In Australia these places are popping up everywhere with Asian workers who all do the same thing. It's dangerous!

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  8 років тому +5

      Ah wow! That's a terrible experience- I'm so sorry that happened- it's like any industry - there's good and then there's bad. It is a buyer beware situation. You gotta do your research to learn whose good and who isn't - it's really ashame cause the Asians get picked on about this. Within the industry with competitions etc the Asians are amazing! Their work is admired! I would ask around in your community see what salon people are talking about then have one nail done then you can see there style😀

    I don't see any C cure on the end of the tip . If you pinch the nail tip while the acrylic is warm , it should look better , slimmer . It's nice to see a square nail with a nice C cure in the tip . Piling on the acrylic creates more work with filing .

    The "Reverse French" is beautiful. I live here in Vancouver, WA. I don't know of anyone (nail salon) that can do this. I think that if I ever had a chance to get the Reverse French, that I would probably like the French side to match the shape of the pink nail bed. If I lived closer, I would just have to make an appointment with your salon. From all the videos that I have watched, Suzie you're the best.

      Selena Jetli did you REALLY just write that!?!? Get the HELL OUT OF HERE with that kinda talk! Saying things like that makes YOU ugly!!!! People like YOU are why I hardly ever read comments. Why in Gods name would you even be possessed to write something so ignorant and cruel? Go away! NO ONE here or anywhere wants someone TROLLING around writing stupid @$$ comments putting others down. That LEGIT pissed me off. You need to go FIND A HOBBY and some self esteem because that was not only stupid and unnecessary but WRONG. Suzie is not only beautiful inside and out BUT an awesome person and nail tech! She's incredibly helpful to those of us with a BRAIN who want to learn from her, and some people even watch JUST to see and hear her and they don't even do nails! You need a life and some serious self reflection. Go troll elsewhere. Or even better don't. Just go away from the Internet period. Take your negative, NASTY, irrelevant opinions away from the world, because we don't need people like you floating around writing shi**y things to people you don't even know! That comment was for sure the more IGNORANT, rude, HORRIBLE things I've ever seen someone write to a STRANGER or even someone they know, for NO reason other than to be a total jerk with no consideration of people's feelings AND with NO purpose other than to be an @$$ hole!!!! I don't care if you're a kid or an adult. If you're a kid, your parents are failing. Miserably. If you're an adult, even MORE shame on you. You KNOW better. If you don't have something nice (and intelligent!!!!) to say, keep your trap SHUT!!!You need to seriously get out of here and anywhere else you want to spew your gross words. Maybe you weren't hugged or loved enough in your life? Who knows, and tbh I don't even care. I just think you should get a life, preferably one that doesn't leave ridiculous comments on people's UA-cam channels for noooooo purpose other than to wave your idiocy around. RIDICULOUS!!!! #Bye #YoureNOTWanted #IrrelevantCommentANDPerson #InsecurePeopleSayStupidThings #MaybeYouNeedSomeLoveInYourLife #DefiniteSelfEsteemIssues #SuziesSquad #GooooooAwayyyyyy
