Music for Makers thank you for your answer. I will try it out. Regarding the transparent background...: I work a lot with procreate on my iPad so I can make the background transparent. I will practice a little bit more; then I will discover the features myself😉
Hi Logan. Thanks for taking the time to create helpful videos for folks like myself. What I like best about your videos are... well, everything !!! Your videos provide valuable information-- Your narration is spot-on-- You provide clickable links that actually work-- You keep your videos short yet to the point-- You don't ramble on about yourself or other unrelated topics AND You don't use misleading content titles-- Keep 'em coming-- Props!
Hi Logan👋🏻, Hope you are well. I had a query regarding your skillshare keynote animation course. Is it applicable for an ipad user( does it have all mac tools and features), and could the course help one who primarily uses an iPad for making animated presentations? Thanks and Good Luck👍🏻
Hey, Arjun. I think you'd get value out of the course, but the iPad version of Keynote does have limitations compared to the Mac version. So, some of the techniques and features I cover might not be available to you. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions!
Hi👋🏻, Thanks for your reply. I am currently a student and am pursuing this as a side passion. I am making plans to setup my workflow on my iPad, and I aim to make Animated infographic videos(using keynote). So do you see any limitations on iPad which wouldn’t allow me to create a higher level of hybrid Animated infographics( hence, should I buy a MacBook )? Or is the iPad ideal for Animated infographics and would provide a similar set of features and performance to a Mac. And if the iPad is ideal, would you advise your skill-share course for Animated infographics or advise a different route for learning? Thanks for your time.
@@arjunsehgal521 You should definitely be able to create animated infographics using the iOS version of Keynote. The differences/limitations I referred to are generally minor (certain settings or features in different places, etc.). I think my course would give you a good mental model to work with, but you might have to do some experimentation to achieve some of what I cover using an iPad only.
@@musicformakers Thanks Logan for taking the time to cater to my queries. This has really provided me with an impact full insight. Good luck and I hope your career grows 👍🏻
Cool, but how do you choose when to make your animation appear? when i add a shape, it starts at the beginning of my video instead of where i want it begin.
Hi Logan! I took your skillshare class and I’ve watched this tutorial! Really awesome! But.... can I make this kind of animations with my iPad as well? I don’t have a Mac...😢
Thanks for watching this video and taking my course! In some ways, making these types of animations is actually easier with an iPad - something I meant to say in this tutorial 😅 On the iOS version of Keynote, you can use a stylus pen (or your finger) to truly "hand draw" the animated elements, which is typically faster and results in more unique illustrations. When you're done, you export the project as a "Movie." Then, if you have a computer, import that file into a video editor. (Alternatively, you could import your live -action video into Keynote and do all the animating in there and not even use a video editor.) If you need a free video editor for PC, I recommend DaVinci Resolve: ua-cam.com/video/9cRzq-yYQIY/v-deo.html A couple of caveats... on the iOS version of Keynote, it appears you can't: - Export videos with a transparent background. A workaround to this is to make your background green and then use your video editor's green screen/chroma-key effect to remove the background. - Change your project's dimensions. So, you'll be limited to a 16:9 ratio. Sorry for the long comment! But hopefully it helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@musicformakers Awesome! I also am trying to do this on an iPad, but I don’t see the option for the poster frame on iPad. Is this not available or am I blind? 🙈
@@MannysMadeatHome The desktop and mobile/tablet version of Keynote differ in a few ways, and it looks like this is one of them. I don't see the poster frame view on iPad either. Sorry about that!
Hello, Is there a specific reason why you exported to ProRes 4444? I made a video intro based on your older Animated intro video and don’t think ProRes 4444 was an option. I took my intro video and turned it into a generator in Motion for FCPX to easily just add to projects for my school. Should I re-export from Keynote as ProRes or does it really matter?
Totally. You would simply create the image/animation in Keynote, export the project as a "Movie," and then import the video into iMovie. I don't currently have a tutorial on this process, but I do cover it in my course: bit.ly/keynote-course
Curious how to apply this to Instagram Stories. I believe it needs to be in a square format still? Imovie doesn't appear to allow a crop of this size. I suppose I can do it all in Keynote though? ...Hmmm...
I'd probably: 1. Create the animations in Keynote 2. Export as video 3. Edit video in iMovie 4. Export the edited video from iMovie 5. Import the edited video into Keynote to crop 6. Export the final cropped video from Keynote The process is somewhat convoluted, but it works :)
