honestly it's an amazing car but I rather it stay quiet so it's not stupid expenssive for no reason.
I owned a 2000 celica gts 6 speed and I loved it still I sold it. Because my wife wanted a car with 4 door because she was pregnant...now 10 years later I look for another one.
If you look hard enough you can find an ST185 for 8-10k and it has the based 3SGTE. Celica GT-S are badass though, the 2zz fucking screams!

Really clean ST205, Like it! Nice but subliminal mods that fit the car perfectly. As a ST202 owner I'm pretty jealous!
Toyota was way ahead of its time with the watercooling. I'd kill to have that. Please don't change it.
I actually just bought a refurbished chargecooler pump to keep it going haha
Few things to note, ALS, Water injection & water spray parts are installed but blocked up, sealed and disabled. They are there for group A homologation, google it if you need to. The cambelt cooler is also blocked off if you dig through there you would have to cut some holes etc, fun fact the original ST165 WRC cars had overheating troubles, including snapping cambelts. Nice car anyway! Tidy.
I totally agree with you 15:18 when you go awd you don't go back.. Used to have an 86 Nissan Sentra notch back, awd and it plowed through snow like it was nothing. Amazing. Then had a usdm B4 Legacy and couldn't live with the mpg. Now I'm back in a awd Honda CR-V with the real time awd and a manual trans and loving ir

Nice looking car. Lov what Toyota did there, hate they stop making Celicas and didn’t do it on their last version. Now, coil overs means bumpy cars on low speed, unfortunately. They are ment for high speed. The faster you go, smoother the ride.
Sweet another ST205 owner! I’m in mainland Japan. I did a short vid of a recent meet which was just 3 days ago. My silver St205 is quickly shown in the first scene. I too just got the car in 2018 completely stock but I’m not a stock type of person nor a ricer. Lol! I currently have 2 vids up on my channel if you want to check it out. Any ways glad to hear more people are getting into the ST205 or Gt-four non the less.

Great video and walkaround, You should lookup Toyota Caldina ST246W-N also featured 3SGTE and AWD from GT Four Celica! I own one and its great car with great roots!!!
Fun fact about the 94 st205 anti-lag. If you set it up, you WILL need to rebuild your turbo after every run. But it was the first car to have anti-lag in wrc. They also need another CPU to run the water injection.
I respect race scene in Japan.
great review but I'm pretty sure the trd wing was originally for the celica not the supra but bolts on to both. there's a picture of the original manufacturer's upgrades from Toyota from when these cars were new.

The 3sgte on the gtt caldina has a different intercooler than the gt4 which isn’t water cooled
Heath Street my 93 Celica has a 4th gen 3sgte/Caldina GTT motor, it’s a slightly larger TMIC than in the previous gens, the WTA intercooler also came on the 5th gen GT4 group b RC versions.
Sorry that is not the spoiler off of a Toyota Supra Mark 5 rather it's the TRD spoiler part of the body kit sold on the late model Toyota Celica (USA 2000-2005) also because the width is greater in the Supra and I cannot possibly believe it would fit also I own both a similar 98 and a later 2003 Toyota Celica so I am pretty sure that matches the one on my car.
Not sure if it's been said, but the 7th gen GTS came with a 2ZZ-GE (not FE) and was a VVTL-i engine (not vvti). The UK/JDM spec offered 190BHP while the US received a 180BHP (Ecu and fuel trim differences). Was a fairly impressive car for the early 00's having a better power/weight ratio than a bug/blob eye wrx in the states. Still a really good vid, wouldn't mind seeing more gen 7's in the future besides at the junkyard lol
Andrew Merglowski Good information and I always get the 1zz/2zz confused ha. I used to own a MR-S back in the day and a lot of Spyder owners swapped the 1zz for the GTS engine

I miss my 05 Toyota Celica GT. I don't think I appreciated it as much as I do now that i'm older. Great, fun and reliable car. I hope Toyota brings back the Celica but for the love of God, don't do any "collaborations" with Subaru / BMW. Keep it all TOYOTA!
If the owner wants to "keep it as stock as possible" he needs to not touch it 😂
Also that charge cooler pump is whining because it's about to fail. Get that sorted and it'll be a quiet as a mouse :)

So you can go to goo net exchange to view cars for sale all over Japan, the st205 is hands down the most advanced of the gt-four's weighing less than the st185 and making more power.

I had a 95 celica. Now I own a 94 prelude vtech.
J.D 2.0 the Supra and Camry were based off the celica platform. If anything the Supra is the son and the Camry is the daughter so to speak. It’s just funny when everyone calls it the baby Supra! I understand why though.

ive always loved that its like the supras lil brother . there so beautifully made its a shame that toyota doesnt make any good looking cars any more. i didnt even like the newer 86 . and thats crazy it has stock anti lag . im the same age as that beauty ! first thing id do is change the color and possibly think about getting rid of the 4 banger . wonder if a 1j or a 2j would just drop in . ive never been in a awd car i love burnouts and getting sideways lol. very good video

In my country we have many Celica GT four in really bad condition and here they change the steering wheel to the left
The way round it is too disable the tsv and t in a boost controller off the turbo to the wastgate. I run 1.1 bar in all gears , enjoy the car ! I have a 94 wrc the anti lag is dormant and takes a lot of work to get functionality! Ps.your chargecooler pump bearing has gone

You should get the face lift projector front lights and the rear face-lift rear clear indicators lights.
Just some facts the 1994 wrc came with dummy anti lag and front charge cooler spray bar but they don't work from factory they have to be activated and if you do the anti lag will blow your turbo after a few hours that's why the wrc cars had it as they rebuilt engines every rally. Also that cam belt vent is a dummy on all gt4s it goes nowhere. Also the charge cooler pump should not be that loud it's on its way out very soon as they do wine before they give up
100% correct. Try sourcing those front lights though... Your gonna pay. ;-) I did wonder why his charge cooler pump was so loud. After 12 years and a total of 151k miles mine is not audible at all. However, I keep mine religiously maintained.
You guys are worrying me about my pump now Haha so in Japan we have jci inspections and for me to pass I had my pump replaced but I didn't do the work myself... I'm about to buy another pump at this rate as the charge cooler is better at keeping lower intake temps and virtually no lag is awesome.
There is a crowd in England who fully rebuild the pump which would be a better option than a second hand pump. They are called gt4 play if I remember right. Alot of people go fmic and don't notice that much of a difference in temps but you wa t oem look

the owner probaly don't know much mechanically, please don't go that so call jdm tuner ricer route. toyota know wat they're doing, that car was winning the wrc , they built the car so well other mades were crying foul cause they couldn't keep up. and they were deemed cheating just because they knew how to set up the motor well. and one of the reason to keep the motor making constant boost was using the water intercooler. a big ass front mount intercooler may look "cool" but it aint gonna keep the intake air temp as low as the water cool intercooler. i wish one day i would get a chance to own one of these, i would keep everything the way it is. this thing is a real beauty, no need for any of the dumb jdm ricer mod.
Tracking, also Toyota admits not everything they did was right, such as the super strut, they removed it on their wrc cars in favor of McPherson's. Dont get me wrong I love my charge cooler and I do plan to keep this as stock as possible but we will see what the future holds because honestly just the way it is stock is amazing enough for me.

@@antrinh5525 oh dood I totally agree with that statement they were just salty Toyota kept winning Haha also soon as I got the car the charge pump went out... then I read that it just how it is and that they dont last long because they're electrical and pretty much always engaged so they just burn out. From long time owners they suggested just going fmic for simplicity. I love the charge cooler though its unique. Imo it wasnt cheating hence my air apostrophes haha
@@antrinh5525 Its cheating as all the wrc cars in that group had to have the same sized restrictors for the inlet of the turbo. TTE devised a system where the port would open up as boost was applied, increasing the air the turbo could provide. Otherwise the only way to open it was with a special tool or a very lard amount of force. That's why the head of the FIA said it was the most ingenious piece of engineering he had seen in 30 years of motorsport.
Mate I'm sorry you don't know what you're talking about. Please research the reason Toyota got banned from competing with the st205 as it's more interesting than your nonsense. Also we had a name for the charge cooler setup on the GT four forums in the UK. We called it a 'top mount inter warmer' or 'failure box'...
It is the forefather of the Supra original name was celica Supra, until they separated the two making Supra the bigger more powerful one.
