    Dear Olena , this video is disturbing but well done . It’s showing present day events in Kyiv , those emotional days you managed alone with the children keeping yourselves safe while Serhiy served in the Army & a historical perspective of Europe after the Second World War . You’ve presented so much to digest in this video . For myself , I will have to review it several times to understand the European Ukrainian & Russian post war history involvement . In love & war the story of this young couple is so sad, the bringing together of two different cultures in love .Singularly Olena you are getting your message out & donations 😊.from your followers are helping your causes in Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇺🇦

      He died doing something heroic and desperately needed: using lethal force vs deranged, evil, bully who has decided his potential, larger adversaries are - to put it bluntly - aren't serious about doing WHATEVER is needed to defeat this globally impactful, naked aggression.
      I think you should compare this to both 9-11 (for terror part of it) AND Pearl Harbor...which had far more drastic global, industrial war repercussions (WWII) than bin Laden.
      The trouble with Russia is that we had victory over fascism but the end of Cold War didn't finish communism - only the USSR as a political entity. Communism's day still is yet to come...in Red China and Russia as led by KGB Colonel Putin.
      As a footnote, maybe if USSR hadn't signed the NAZI-SOVIET Non-aggression Pact (08/39), which divided Poland in half and agreeing not to interfere with German invasion. This put Hitler's forces 200 miles closer to Soviet frontier and ended up costing Russian people (and captive Ukraine) 20,000,000+ lives. I don't think Russia ever really recovered, thanks to communist scheming and immorality.

    • @teller1290
      @teller1290 Рік тому

      Russian evil has been getting a free ride behind long defeated NAZIism. Notice they accuse any who disagree with them or help Ukraine (Pol/Lith, et al) as being "NAZIs" that may need to be addressed later. Sadly, this moronic tactic works on many.

    • @shooster5884
      @shooster5884 Рік тому

      @@teller1290 That's a good point I hadn't really thought about. Russia thought it was to be on the winning side with Hitler in 1939. The sense of betrayal and loss of face that must have entailed for them when he betrayed them... so much so that Russia pretends the WWll began in '41 to avoid admitting that Russia was intending to carve up Europe along with Hitler as his partner, had he not betrayed Russia..
      And even after the war the western allies avoided mentioning that fact , that Russia was never really one of the allies, that Russians would have been happy to destroy the allied countries along with Hitler had they not had to suddenly defend themselves from him and pretend to be in the same side. They were only out for their own interests and preserve a deliberate national amnesia about having really been an ally of Hitler instead

    • @teller1290
      @teller1290 Рік тому +1

      @@shooster5884 I agree with much of what you typed but to be completely honest, let me say this: neither Hitler NOR Stalin were deluded enough to believe either had a long future with the other, being competing dictators with competing philosophies bordering each other, esp with Hitler's racial views.
      Stalin's actual hope was that after Poland (the re-creation of whose borders, post-WWI, had been a HUGE outrage to Germans, both NAZI and otherwise), Hitler would take his growing military forces and attack in the west...as he did and as his book, "Mein Kamp," strongly suggested he would. Hitler's desire for revenge against France was plainly stated and I'm sure Stalin and his people had studied that book.
      Stalin's great hope was that German military would get bogged down again in the west, as in WWI. This time, Stalin, with a far more capable military than Tsarist Russia had in 1914, planned on waiting a couple of bloody, exhausting years, and rolling right into E. Eur and Germany and it being an easy win by then. But Stalin must not have paid close attention to how easily Germany's military disposed of Poles' not insignificant army; and did so thru then revolutionary use of armor, aircraft, artillery - all coordinated through excellent radio communication not available previously in history.
      There's a story out there somewhere that described the look on Stalin's face when he read the news headline of then mighty France surrendering, shockingly, in six weeks, with Brits forced off the continent at the same time.
      But even then, the ace up his sleeve was two-fold: 1) the vast space of Russia surely would prove too daunting for Hitler to try and 2) Hitler was making out like a bandit taking advantage of cut-rate grain and oil Stalin provided him under 1939 Pact; two things Hitler had in short supply, otherwise.
      But like my late dad used to say, "You can't conna con man," and Stalin was fooled by Hitler. You see, Hitler's "Lebensraum" and racial obsessions led him to attack the USSR. Stalin, by 1941 (or even '39) must've known Hitler's views towards Jews and communists...but I don't think even Stalin fully grasped how tightly Hitler linked the two together as a single "problem;" that Hitler wasn't just engaging in inflammatory rhetoric to the German people when he verbally attacked Jews...he meant it, down to his marrow. And Hitler linked Judaism and "Bolshevism" together as one. Hitler HAD to attack Stalin eventually.
      Stalin (truly an ice cold psycho of epic proportion...and a paranoiac), was more practical and less of an ideologue than was Hitler. Practically, a German attack on USSR then was ill-advised. BUT, ideologically, such attack was inevitable, especially after Germany's last enemy on the continent was defeated and Germany failed in defeating or neutralizing Great Britain. All that territory and all those resources and good land being held by, in Hitler's mind, racially inferior communists...was an imbalance in the universe that had to be righted.
      Incredible times, incredible dictators, incredible forces coming together that shaped our world. Fortunately, my imperfect country (USA) was at its very best in those years and was instrumental in defeating one dictator (two, counting imperial Japan) and road blocking the other dictatorship vent on world domination...USSR.
      A lot of decades have passed, even since end of Cold War. I'm uncertain about my own country in dealing with such people in the future. Hoping for the best.

    I fully understand why people stay in their apartments after a year of war and missile attacks and hope that they are not the one family victim of a nights attack.. trying to maintain some sort of normal life amid the nightmare.
    My heart goes out to all Ukranian civilians whether they stayed in the country or are refugees in another country the past year.
    I wake up some days and still ask myself is this really happening.. one European country trying to demolish another European country and killing and destroying so much - cities, towns, villages , all the services generations have worked hard to build in their communities.. ? in this day and age... ? with the memory of WW ll and the cry then and since of 'never again' in people's hearts and minds..?
    I don't want Putin to be killed, I want him somehow betrayed and captured and tried in The Hague and to spend a long life in prison. I don't want Russia to be excused as a nation, I want the country to be defeated in this war and only on the road to redemption when and if the decent Russians there politically prevail, round up all those responsible for the wars of the regime and jail them for life..
    Otherwise let the federation fall apart and Russia itself become a totally irrelevant state..

    Very informative as usual. The two days for Victory Day remind me of the two Christmas holidays that Ukraine celebrates. I'm sure at some point, these two-day holidays will be celebrated on just one day each and the two-day holidays will be relegated to the history books.
    I found it interesting how Russia interprets when WWII started, only after they started fighting against Germany rather than when Germany started the war with Russia's help.

Eux aussi sont mieux de ce tenir tranquille, ils ont pas d'affaire a faire la police au Canada, si ça prend une guerre nous sommes prêts.
