Hi Deyanira! TY for your video! You mentioned many awesome points! Yes! We need more representation in the mental health career field! I think it must be a beautiful feeling to hear the realization (of your client) in truly how helpful mental health services can be. To make someone realize that therapy is not for "locos," and that therapy helps people get to know themselves better and reflect on themselves, we all need someone to talk to, which is where genuine mental health practitioners come in!!🤍
I love that you brought up our differences. Even when we are both from the same state, growing up in the DFW area vs south TX is SO different. I can tell when someone is from the Valley/ El Passo by their accent :) I love it !

I love watching you videos! I am currently in my last semester of grad school to become a counselor and I am preparing to take my NCE. I am a second generation Mexican American and I live in Northern Minnesota where there is almost none who provides bilingual and culturally informed therapy for the Latino and Hispanic populations here. I resonated with your statement of "not from there but not from here" and not being "Mexican enough." I love that you shared your thoughts on this important topic.
