He was robbed in 2011-2014 for DPOY. Ben Wallace, Mutumbo and Olajuwon all acknowledged Ibaka should have won it at least once those years. In 2017 Ibaka was asked why he transitioned primarily to a shooter after impressive defensive years...2-time runner up to DPOY and 4 time All NBA First Defensive Team (only Kawhi and few guys have such impressive defensive resume), he said it was lack of appreciation for not getting the DPOY after putting the best of his years those 4 years. He said it makes no sense doing the same, putting in all that effort jumping that high over 10 times a game and not being appreciated, wasn't worth it for his health and longevity in the league. He decided to focus on his all-round game, which actually was the right decision then, giving he is an excellent two-way player now.
I’ll never forget Serge as I always targeted him in my fantasy drafts from 2012-2014. That man alone carried my blocks categories in the head-to-head matchups. Also was very high field goal percentage player before he fell in love with jumpers. The people who never got to see Serge in his prime with OKC could not understand why at the time the organization chose to keep him over Harden. Serge was special back then. Great edit as usual. 👍
He still special now... highly impactful against the warriors, not only is he still a great shot blocker but he’s mobile enough to keep up with the guards... I think those down years with trash ass Orlando had him off the radar but he’s back and has really contributed a lot to the raptors, I’m happy for him unlike harden and Durant he actually deserves a fucking ring
He was efficient last year and had been efficient this year thus far for the Raptors. He really developed his mid range shooting, he’s an excellent pick and pop player.
@@GarbageMan144 Umm, no. He was blocking a ton of shots, and that's what granted him those all defensive team selections. In 2016, he was a smarter, stronger and a much better defender on the perimeter.
I swear to god the amount of times lebron beat kd off the dribble in the 2012 finals was astonishing... absolutely one of the reasons we lost the series, he stood no chance against lebron
@@tagtheroller hes not poor at all. He guards his position very well. Idk why u expect him to be able to guard well against 1s or even 2s hes literally 7 feet tall.
@@GarbageMan144 Who said that I'm expecting for him to do that? All I'm saying is that he's a relatively poor man to man defender due to his lackluster lateral quickness and the inability to get around screens. Durant is a great defender, and most of that value comes off the ball, with his rotations, switches, covers, etc.
Also request if possible for Carmelo Anthony - Quick Second Step. Melo had a knack of grabbing his own misses in the post and putting them back in right away. I’ve never seen anyone else so talented in getting their own misses and recovering them. Please compile this if possible!
Eric Lee I made that video a long while ago. I think I framed it that as just being persistent bec I still thought Marion had the best second jump in the league at the time

Crazy how he player under 30 minutes and average 3.7 blocks once a season om 27 minutes. The okc coach shoulda benched bum Kendrick Perkins Smh
You forgot he was robbed in the dunk contest that one year
Nah
He damn near averaged 4 blocks in 27 mpg and they gave it to Tyson chandler because the Knicks finally make the playoffs after being dogshit forever

Finally got his ring 🏆
Eric L people dont give him the credit he derserves kd didnt have to worry about his man beating him knowing ibaka was around
Love that this dude is a champion. Totally deserves it.
Serge Ibaka is one of the most underrated rim protectors this league has seen. Timing, Strength, jump recovery time, just everything you need
2012-2015 was the IBLAKA era
In 2011 he had some sick blocks too (for example the chasedown one on Wilson Chandler)
@@butahir2242Never thought I’d hear Wilson Chandlers name again🤣 absolute dawg
Mutombo blocks - "Not in the house of me ☝"
Serge blocks -
"AAAUUUUUHHH!"
3:59 “3 pointer” 😂😂😂
That OKC team was legendary but could have done so much more.
Prime ibaka was Iblocka now he add that mid and 3 point game man
I still don’t understand why OKC didn’t at least 1 championship that’s unreal
Serge IBLOCKA
My goodness he was such a beast for that stretch of time. At least he still has some of that level of tenacity right now.
Umm, what. His best year was in 2016 or right now.
@@tagtheroller dude I'm talking defensively
@@GarbageMan144 okay, then it's 2016.

biyombo or jrue holiday defensive highlight?
Jamal Crawford superb separation
I miss watching this so much
i forgot how excited this used to get me
He was a block maniac when he was on OKC. It was so entertaining to watch him play defense in his prime.
Ibaka one of the best bloker in NBA !
Corey
Cousins
Lebron
Kobe
Deron
Duncan
These people got nightmares from Iblocka
Serge is my all time favorite players ahead of goran Dragic
One of my favorite nba player because of his shot blocking ability
he blocked his way to the championships
Yes he become the Serge Iblocka he was
I love your work. Really.
Can you make one for mr j crossover
Jamal crawford ??
I wonder if anyone rembers when they used to call him serge iblocka back in his day
SERGEJ IBAKA
He was mean, as a okc fan we were fun to watch
Exactly...OKC was fun to watch then. Those Ibaka blocks and Westbrook follow up fast breaks energized the atmosphere.
Jrue Holiday defense or a 2019 PG13 super separation
Serge i-blockaaa!!!
This video is about Durant's poor one on one defense...
yea he grew so much lol

In February of 2012 alone he had three double digit block games
Tony Parker fantastic finisher
Warren Stanley ua-cam.com/video/DoEHWHXIPDI/v-deo.html TECHNICALLY a footwork video but so much finishing in it.
The Serge Protector
I was trying to send Ibaka a text message, but it was blocked by ibaka
That block on Howard was dirty

Please do sum of jamal crawford broken ankles all threw them highlights
early 2000's Serge should've won Dpoty
Hey, could you do a defensive highlight of George Hill? :)
Great video
Dude reminds me of theo Ratliff
Defensive player of the year ?
Can you do old school video like Hakeem Olajuwon in the post, MJ unreal defense, David Robinson great shot blocker ?
Malcolm Brogdon precise scorer?
唉!如果他沒有打封閉針......
burt I like kd better
You listened to the comments 😍
Damn
Easily a top 10 most talented shot blockers in NBA history
Yes he is
He really was a special shot blocker
Prime ibaka was a menace
He's more like top 5
This man deserves DPOY
