- This video includes close to 1 hour of Arrivals and Departures of St Maarten Princess Juliana Airport filmed from a spot on the perimeter road during a recent trip abroad
Filmed freehand using a 4K Sony AX53 video camera
I spent 5 nights here including the trip across to St Barts for the day
The first spot is on top of some concrete near some bins. However I was asked by locals to not stay there. There is also an abandoned building I went in. Plus the last spot which is a small rooftop viewing platform owned by a nearby restaurant
You will see many A320s, B757s and A330s during this video coming from North America and on International routes across the Atlantic as well as a lot of island hoppers, cargo and private jets. Watch as aircraft arrive over Maho Beach and cause Jet blast to onlookers when departing!

I just got back from St Maarten. Had the most wonderful time. I walked every day and still managed to sun burn my nose.

Probably don't see very many 747s land there nowadays. I watched a couple of videos where an Astral cargo 747 8-f, and a Magma Cargo 747-400 landed there in 2019 and 2020.

Was surprised to see lots of opposite Rwy takeoffs 28. Always thought they were very uncommon.
The King Air at 52:16 was on its way to Brazil in this video. Today his registration is PS-ARI.

Nice- this was about 10 days before I got there with my wife. (I spent 5 days sitting on my balcony at the Morgan Resort planespotting-- heaven- lol)
Was the Morgan any good? I stayed at the Sonesta and thought it was good but they don’t have any viewing platform
@@Calsaviation Yeah, I enjoyed it-- I mean it was my first time to the Caribbean since I was a child, so I had to lower my expectations of what "island time" was and to not get insulted if the staff sometimes doesn't feel like they want to be bothered, but overall i give it a 4/5 stars. Enjoyed the spotting, enjoyed the food, and it has a great pool and pool area.

You can walk freely up to this location. Or if the restaurant staff ask maybe buy a drink just to keep them happy

I’m not too sure. If there’s any focus issues on the video it’s likely me getting used to using it still
The best views are from the beach. There was an arrival schedule posted on a surfboard at the restaurant so plane spotters could plan when to get out of the water to watch. The activity on the beach went crazy as the large jets approached. You have to go there to experience this airport landings

If I were plane spotting I would probably take that view over the maho beach view.
The 757 is such a beautiful and graceful airplane. Like the aviation version of a ballet dancer. I wonder if Boeing regrets that they ended production. I 'm beginning to warm up to her big sister, ( the triple 7). I wonder if they will start flying in here, or is the runway too short? I'm assuming since 747's once flew in, that wouldn't be a problem. I guess the iguana and the barking dogs love airplanes too !;!😂

Unfortunately they don’t fly the B747s here anymore. Both Air France and KLM have retired them
@@Calsaviation this is way too sad!!! 747 is my favorite plane of all time, and it was my dream for years to see it flying from St Maarten!!! I will be going there for the first time with my husband this year, who is a very big aviation fan as well. We missed it 😢 😔 😕 😪 😫
